    Deal of the century

No issues. Excellent a la cart handling with reservations a thing of the past. Well kept premesis, tho I wish the guests would be less messy and damaging. Staff work hard clearing the trail some guests leave.

    Family vacation

I want to express that the staff’s customer service at Riu Jalisco was Excellent! We were super happy with friendliness and attention. Some of the small cons were the the rooms needed some repairs like we had to call for our remote not working and for my mother’s room AC. One of the rooms had a smell but manageable. We loved all the activities that Riu had to offer. We are planning another family trip next year with a bigger group. I hope some of these cosmetic issues get resolved. Other than that we loved it! Food was awesome!

A great week, and Independence day happened!

I arrived at RIU Jalisco on 09/12/2023. After the fastest stop at immigration for me in 20 years, I went outside, and was introduced to my local transport connection. The hotel made and paid for my drive to and from the hotel. I was solo in a taxi for both my arrival, and departure. Early after I made my reservation, I emailed the RIU customer service folks, and asked for a room close to the elevators, as I am having mobility troubles, and use a cane to walk....Upon arrival, I was assigned to 1193, first floor, close to the pools, towel shed, the steakhouse, italian restaurant, t and the beach. Check in went seamlessly....The mature woman at the desk is a great assest to the hotel....sorry, but me and names just do not click. I enjoyed eatiing at all of the restaurants, multiple times.. Service staff are attentive, but don't hover over you... All the pool bartenders were cordial, outgoing, and definitely enjoy their jobs. I think I will visit again in December, as mid September is hot, and very humid. I live in dry Arizona, and the humidity beats me....see you all again!

    Riu Jalisco Resort

Loved the resort, excellent food, staff always friendly. Since covid everything is digital now so you download Riu on your phone and see restaurants, activities, etc and can send service as well. Love that the water was filtered throughout so can have ice cubes and water. It was very hot when we were there, 33C and humid. The night shows were good. Bonus is not having to prebook for restaurants but to show up and we always got a table. The steak house, excellent steaks and ribs and located in front of the beach so very nice to see. The international buffet restaurant always plentiful of variety of food. Couple of things - their pillows were very lumpy, so made it hard to sleep. They should change those up. The beds were very comfortable tho. The room sheet said every 2nd day, the bar will be replenished but it didn't happen automatically. We had to call front desk a couple of times. They should have it restocked as per their sheet. When it rains (which wasn't alot), puddles form inside the building as its open. I slipped as I didn't see the puddle and fell hard on my bad knee onto the tile. It hurt alot and as we were on the 3rd floor, climbing up and down the stairs, hurt. I was careful after that looking for puddles. I wear a knee brace because of my knee and hotel was notified at booking. We were put into 3rd floor, next time I will ask for 2nd floor as climbing up and down every day a few times a day was alot. We felt very safe- took the uber to PV and spent the day there. Another day we took uber to Bucerias for a couple of hours. We could have walked the beach there but it was hot and humid plus my knee was still hurting from the fall. I would come back to this resort again. Really loved it. Thank you Riu Jalisco....and always nice to see upper management walking around and inspecting things.

    Horrible don’t waste your money!!!

This is what I sent to Riu they had an excuse for everything never will I send my money with them and will tell everybody how horrible they are: My family and I booked a vacation right before school started to have a last 5 days of fun before school started we were highly disappointed. We booked through your company Aug 9-14, 2023 We arrived at the Riu Jalisco first they serve us hot bottle water and 100 degree weather. when we get to the room the bathroom didn't have a door to it we had a 6 year old with us. the shower has hairs all in the shower, the bar area barely had anything in it. After cleaning the room and spraying it down we went to the buffet to eat since that was the only thing open. the buffet was horrible picked at food everywhere nothing really to eat because it looked all bad. the workers were handling food with their bare hands very unsanitary! the next morning we went for BF they had raw bacon on the buffet ( see attached pic) we could have gotten sick if we ate that. The soda's and alcoholic beverages were horrible like the water was bad. Went to dinner at the steakhouse they served us bread on a dirty try ( see pic below) At the beach you had to rent an umbrella and the beach chairs were old and dirty and needed to be replaced also the locals had a set spot of the beach selling stuff which was not cool they would come up to you and try to sell you stuff ( see pic below) we could only get one towel a day and we couldn't replace them we had to use the same towel all day and some days it rained so how do you dry off with a wet towel?? I asked for towels and blankets for two days and never received them. Towels were very hard like they didn't dry all the way in the dryer. The ice machine was broken the only one that was working was on the 4th floor we were on the 1st floor ( see pic below) the TV had very few english channels I know we were in Mexico but we are on vacation we should have had some english tv to watch. They catered to the locals the resort was 95% locals. I can't believe that you have this resort as a 4 stars it is clearly not even a 2 stars. Date of experience: August 08, 2023
