Sep 27, 2023Good experience at Planet Hollywood with star staff.
We had 12 great days at Planet Hollywood, with a few trips (Tulum, Chichen Itza, Cancun) organised via TUI. The trips were well organised and we felt good value for money with knowledgeable guides. We saw varied sides to Mexico thanks to these trips. Cenote swimming and Chichen Itza being particular highlights. Our room was comfortable and clean with plenty of space. We really enjoyed the big bathroom. It's a given in Mexico, a humid country, that there will be damp in the room. This did mean our room smelt and our covers were damp when we first arrived. However we ordered a dehumidifier unit that reduced this. The entertainment was good, particularly the Viva Mexico night that showcased the best in food and entertainment from each region. We wished the entertainment went on a bit longer as after 10pm the place felt a bit dead. There is a club above the reception foyer if you wanted to stay out longer and listen to music till 2am. Plenty to eat and drink throughout the day at a variety of buffet and al a carte places. The places to eat do vary week to week as to what is open. There are not many places to eat by the beach / pools, so be prepared to walk back to the reception / main stage area for day foods. I'm coeliac so found there not to be clear guidance as to what was gluten free at times, with some of the GF labelled food not actually suitable for coeliacs due to cross contimnation. However the friendly staff were always willing to help and guide. There is also the option of having something cooked for you if you request it. A special call out to the following staff who went above and beyond: • Gonzalez for the amazing karaoke • Francisco for the steady supply of pool drinks • Jazmin for the best cocktails • The pool band (sorry can't remember the name) who were taking requests and played a few rock numbers 🤟

Sep 27, 2023Fantastic resort- Shame about TUI
Just came back from Planet Hollywood resort. Service - Rooms 5 star having been to all areas of Mexico this being my 8th Visit, Mexican people know how to cater for the clientele. Food was good with 6 different restaurants from Mexican-Chinese- Steak - Italian ,all very good ,one issue the food doesn't come out to you hot ,more like warm. Self service restaurant was OK but nothing to talk about . Beach no problem getting beds and very clean ,sea is gorgeous. Pool area no problem getting beds by the swim up bars. only downside for me was the location $100 to get into Cancun made this resort a isolated place, but this is up to the individuates preferences to what they are looking in a holiday destination, so the review on the hotel as very good and clean. One issue we booked with TUI, flying with TUI no problem except the app is awkward to maneuver around . Arrived at Cancun airport after 9 1/2 flight and a hour getting through the airport, when coming out of the airport you see 5 Mexican TUI reps ( didn't seem to know what they were doing), told to stand in 38 deg heat with no water for 45 mins- didn't have clue which transit bus we were to get on. then when eventually when we get on the transit but 4 families with no room to spare ,yet again no water plus no rep on the bus, no rep at the hotel to guide you what to do. next day TUI rep skipped all the information about taxes you have to pay when you go on trip $20 each Book trip through TUI they say there exclusive to TUI, completely untrue and they are not anywhere near you on or before the trip and charge double the locals charge for the same trip . booking out of the hotel ,yes again no rep nor on the bus back or even the airport. TUI has dropped standards from a great height , my advise always book with the locals for the trips,they are safe and polite and 100% cheaper. flight as always excellent can't fault. it doesn't help when the TUI rep says he doesn't like the heat. Remember to tip the Mexicans it really does help these poor guys Book Mexico though its a brill location

Mexico is the new Italy!
Everything from the aesthetics and the service was nothing but delightful! Alejandro was cooperative and informative and helped us pick out the absolute best meals that matched what we were craving. Of course, the food itself was incredible. Vidal the Chef provided some of the best Italian food we have ever eaten from a restaurant. Coming from an Italian family, it was authentic and reminded me of home cooked meals made throughout my childhood. Quality ingredients, service and scenery. Eating at Gusto is a no brainer!

My vacations on planet Hollywood cancun
The hotel it's very cool, the restaurants are good, my favorite was mexican and thanks to the chef Andoni, the show are amazing, the entertainment team are super good Chris is very friendly and charismatic, we was on planet play, the trampoline area, we met to Angie and Ricardo, they are very friendly, thanks for all and we hope come back soon.
