Awesomeness
Had a great time..first time staying and everyone was great..wished I could remember the manager in the black shirt that helped us quiet often during our stay..he got us drinks and directed us were to go and helped my wife when she got stung by a jellyfish..I had written it down but got misplaced on our way to the airport

Not so great!
This is my second and last time staying at this hotel. Unlike my first visit this recent visit was rather disappointing. The staff were all nice, polite and friendly. However, I felt short changed with the drinks on offer in the mini bar, and at times at the other bars in regards to the lack of Wray and Nephew ovenproof rum. In addition, although the Jamaican food in the restaurant was mainly nice but the desserts on offer were not very nice as it seems like they were put together using left overs of from the previous days offerings. The bedrooms were not cleaned early enough as at times my room was cleaned after 2 pm. There was an occasion when there were no clean towels available for a few hours. The bathrooms in the room tended to have a very strong unpleasant smell. I strongly believe that management/owners need to give their guests full value for their money. I will not stay there again in a hurry.

Great holiday
Got back last week after 2weeks spent at the rui negril .great hotel ..brilliant food .staff were fantastic they worked really hard..went to the Asian..very nice.. and the kulinari was gorgeous ..Italian was good too ..buffet was brilliant ...drinks were great ..service at the bars was pretty good especially the sports bar and the lobby bar .. beach bar was great aswell ...went on a couple of trips to Bob marleys house and Rick's cafe on the catamaran..long day to bob marleys house...about 15 hrs because of traffic ..catamaran was brilliant even though we got a bit squiffy on the rum ..beach was beautiful ..beach shoes handy can be a bit rough on the feet in the water ..pools were great too but preferred the beach ...rooms were clean and practical could do with a kettle to make a cuppa on a morning ..there was a coffee machine in but I like a cuppa tea so had to wait till breakfast ...rooms cleaned everyday clean towels provided too we .were in block 1 which was quite loud at times..so if I came back i would ask for block 3 or 4 which seemed quieter ...we tipped for great service which we got most of the time any way ..itv s a great people watching place ..people from all over the world some LOUDER than others ...and some customers were quite rude no please or thankyous dosent cost alot for good manners ...all in all a great holiday ..and will be back someday.... .

Didn't live up to what I thought Negril beaches were supposed to be like be
May 2023 - this was my 1st visit to Jamaica and unfortunately my experience here at Riu Negril was not like my other experiences at other all inclusive experiences,or even my other RIU experiences. COMMUTE: unfortunately it took 2 hours to get to the resort from Montego Bay airport ROOMS: They were nice, did the job. The front desk was nice enough to accommodate moving my dad and I to another room for better accessibility. FOOD: the buffet was good. Unfortunately the jerk hut on the beach is only open till the food runs out. BEACH: this was the most disappointing point. The sand was not white, and fluffy. The whole beach area had sea grass growing in the water, so there was only one clear patch for visitors to swim. The water was so quiet without any waves. There were always locals on the beach selling drugs. VIBES: there was no background music going on throughout the hotel. I found that the majority of staff weren't very hospitable or good when it comes to customer service. A few of the staff members were very focused on asking for tips, which was what you want to great while on a vacation. The activity staff were the ones that were more personable and friendly. OVERALL: my first experience in Jamaica was not the best and I don't want to paint all of jamaica work this one experience. But unfortunately I give this resort a 3/5 at best.
