Very disappointing!
If you are from the U.K. DO NOT COME HERE! We paid for preferred thinking we would be looked after and unfortunately this is not the case! If you’re from America or Mexico you will be treated like royalty. We as English are treated very differently. Our room is supposed to have a minibar. This has 1 beer, 2 cans of coke and a small bottle of Bacardi. I asked to swap this and it was an argument. I’m on holiday and shouldn’t have to kick off. We sat next to Americans this morning that did not even leave a tip but were treated like royalty! We have tipped everyone and it makes no difference! We have met about 20 different members of staff and have been really well looked after by 4 of those. The food is alright but far from 5 star. The restaurants we have wanted to book have been shut. We had Japanese last night and the main courses should have been steak and prawn but we got a bowl full of veg and the service was terrible. We went to the preferred lounge on the 6th floor today and the staff were laughing at us quite openly. We asked for Mimosas and got orange cordial and water. Don’t get me wrong we loved this hotel when we first got here. The longer we stay, the worse it gets! Harsh but unfortunately true!

Secrets review
Beautiful hotel, the staff are excellent here the food is good. The rooms are extremely nice. The beds are very uncomfortable. More comfortable beds are needed. I did not know that the dreams part was attached onto secrets, and there were children everywhere throughout the resort I thought it was an adults only a resort. Otherwise wonderful experience.

Nice stay
Adults only is only partially correct. There are kids on property and the adult pool and kids pool are close together. There are other pools that can be utilized if you want to be away from kid noise. If you truly want No KIDS - don't go to this resort. Food and drinks were good. All staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable. Spa was relaxing and beautiful.

Definitely not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy!
Let me start off by saying that this was my first all-inclusive experience and now I expect nothing less than the service I had experienced here!! First of all, the staff is excellent. From the minute that we arrived til the minute we left, the service that the staff provided was outstanding. The bellhops: Santana, Jose, Jovani, and Marvin were so helpful in helping us with our luggages, directions around the hotel, and taking us to and from the amphitheater. Jorge assisted in our check in process and the tour of the resort. He was so friendly and not too pushy with the discounted trip they were offering which I totally appreciated. The activities staff - specifically Melanie and Liberato were so much fun and engaging with the guests. Loved playing the pool games and learning some Latin dances with them! Their energy is on a different level. There was a hostess at the French restaurant (unfortunately, I didn't get her name), but she was very lovely!! We bonded over our love for Beyonce, so now I remember her as Beyonce! The drink runners around the pools were very attentive and made sure our drinks were always full. Adrian helped with the check out process and it was very smooth and effortless. Not to mention, they were all very encouraging and helped me with my Spanish - it was so sweet! The service was definitely 10000/10. Would recommend. The property itself is so beautiful and clean. The resort is situated around the jungle so the drive there is pretty awesome. Technically there are 2 resorts on the property: Secrets, the adults only property; and Dreams, which is the family-friendly one. We got the resort view club preferred room which situated us right above the family friendly activities pool. Wouldn't recommend resort view just because I prefer not to hear the kids in pool lol. Abliet, at night it's not so bad. We had access to the entirety of the property - from the preferred rooftop pool/bar to the restaurants and bars on the "Dreams side." They are currently doing work to expand the Dreams with an aquarium. We didn't even realize there was construction happening until we saw the area being excavated. They had plenty of beach chairs and different pools to choose from. We did not need to fight for any spots because every spot is a great spot. During the time of our visit, there was plenty of space and we never felt like it was crowded. The beach is pretty rocky so I didn't have a grand time there, but it was still nice! Sand was really hot though. There are several different towers and all the elevators get you access to different places. It definitely takes a bit to get used to, but beware - you might get lost. Food was uh-mazing! The quality and flavors were spectacular. We never got bored with the food selections. We ate at a different restaurant for every meal. The food and beverage staff are great there. I was so impressed with the 7 course menu at one of the restaurants - Olio. The menu changes seasonally! I thought that we'd be hungry after this dinner, but we were so stuffed. The menu was carefully thought out. Bordeux, the French restaurant on site was romantic and dreamy. First time having snails and it was delicious! The breakfast buffet was my favorite. The view from there is amazing and the selections were endless! It was one of the kid-free zones which I loved. They had onsite tacos but they closed at 5pm and that was too early IMO! The drinks we got were top shelf and so good!! Overall, I loved this resort and its staff. Will definitely be back.

Great 4.5 star resort
We just left the resort today, our experience was mostly positive… Pros - the staff! All the people we encountered were friendly and helpful but some stood out. Luis at the swim up Bar Manatee, Brandon at Olio, Alejandro around the pool and all the staff at the Interlude lounge. - the food! We had exceptional meals at Olio, Portofino, and Himitsu. The Coco cafe provided wonderful coffee every morning. The lunches by Bar Manatee were great with so much choice. Cons - when you arrive you just want to get to your room and start to enjoy your vacation but staff take you aside to “tell you about the resort” but really what they want is for you to agree to sit through a time share sales pitch for the Unlimited Vacation Club the next day. This was an annoying way to start our stay. - there isn’t an air conditioned bar or lounge except the sports bar. The Privilege club has 2, both were always empty. Overall we would recommend this resort but know if you come in September it is going to be HUMID.
