Good and bad..but wouldn’t return.
Food was good! We really enjoyed the Japanese and Pacific Express. I found it disappointing that you cannot get breakfast room service. Drinks weren’t watered down. The only available beer is Dos equis, and for those who don’t drink spirits, it leaves much to be improved unless you pay off a waiter for the Heinekens, which are exclusive for owners. Sunscreen is $70 in the store, so don’t forget it! The pool is in complete disrepair, with many, many broken tiles everywhere ( do NOT drag your feet) and chunks of hair floating that get stuck in your toes, amongst garbage on the bottom of the pool. Really turned me off. Also, most people surrounding the swim up bar would sit there all day and not leave… the pool was their toilet. The room was so hot it was almost impossible to sleep comfortably. A complaint of many. The room will not go lower than 22, but in reality is more like 25. We found it difficult to even dress from our sweaty skin. There are no drawers for your clothing, only a few open cubby holes and a closet. We lived out of our suitcases for a week, which I didn’t love. The beach breaks very close to the shore with very strong waves. Do not bring anything you don’t want to lose if you go swimming. The beach is also not kept clean. The theatre and cocktail lounge was very nice, but did have super basic shows, perhaps more Latin inspired shows might attract more people. The elevators were broken, and walking up and down 6 flights of stairs several times a day became frustrating. There was nobody working on them to resolve that. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, but would not return to this place. It is definitely not a 5 star.

Relaxing Mexican Holiday
This resort had so much to offer. We were celebrating my siblings 30th birthday, so we had 6 adults. We did many of the activities, rifle shooting, archery, bingo, dance lessons, water aerobics, karaoke, musical shows, and a pool party. They were also celebrating Mexican Independce and had a big festival with special food, games, and a mariachi band. The entertainment staff was so fun. Special shoutout to Johnathan, Marcos, Fernando, Fabian, Paloma, and Rocio. They made each day so fun and made us all feel special. The pool bar was fantastic, especially Jose. He learned our order the first day and was so friendly. The buffet had different food each night, though I'm sure it does repeat. But there were options for even the pickiest eater. And when in doubt, the ladies at breakfast made the best cheese quesadillas. The Japanese restaurant menu was what you got without any substitutions, so out picky party members had to hit up the buffet after. The taco bar was so good, though we mostly stuck to the chicken tacos. I only wish it was open longer. There was a circus night with acrobats and fire dancers one night on the sunset bar. My only complaint was that the pool wasn't really open past sunset and with the heat, it would have been nice to hit the pool in the evening and not worry about sunscreen. The concierge helped set up our excursion for ziplining and even got us a deal. The bellman set up all of our taxis to Sayulita and the airport. Everyone was so friendly and kind, especially with our limited Spanish. We all had such a great time. We didn't spend much time at the beach, but did some swimming. We walked the beach each morning and the staff was up bright and early cleaning up sticks and other debris to keep the beach looking nice.

Excellent location, marvelous beach view, with a few negatives.
About 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, excellent if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach view. Pro's location next to beach and mountains, views, staff......Con's the shows, come on someone at Iberostar please do something about the shows, I've been to three Iberostars and the shows are pretty much the same, please be creative, have you thought that maybe we want to see a traditional Mexican show or traditional mexican music or latin themed music? Thankfully there was a live JD with latin music at the club. Most of the people come from US, do we want to see an American show? No, no, no. About the food, catch of the day I would expect a fresh fish but instead the same piece of fish I ate at the French restaurant the day before just cooked differently, no, no, no... please don't do that. And finally..only Dos X beer? really? What about Corona, Bohemia, Pacifico? Come on, don't be cheap!!!

Fantastic beach and extremely friendly staff throughout the resort
I came to Iberostar Playa Mita for a bachelor party with 9 guys from Los Angeles. This was my first time at the resort. The grounds of the hotel are nice and the beach is fantastic; I have never experienced such a warm beach. In particular, I would like to thank Mayra, Jesus Rosy, and Carmelo at the Wirikuta Sunset Bar for making our stay special. All four were extraordinarily pleasant and friendly. Mayra was pleasant to speak to and remembered my name from the first night of my stay, Jesus made fantastic drinks and was very kind, Rosy was a pleasure to speak to, and Carmelo was kind and efficient. Our stay was enlightened and was made to feel extra special. Due to their kindness, I made sure to visit every evening, even returning early on our final night from Sayulita to make sure I could say goodbye and thank them for their service. I wish all four the best and hope that other guests can experience their kindness. I enjoyed the resort and would recommend a stay to friends and family. It was an overall great experience.

Horrible and dated hotel
Horrible experience on my 3rd visit. The hotel is already dated and going down in quality for sure. I'm sorry I took my family here. We had total of 5 rooms booked, and numerous issues from spider in the room upon checking into it. One of the rooms no working A/C in the middle of the heat, they finally fixed it on the 4th day. Internet is pretty bad especially by ocean front rooms. Elevator constantly breaking, and we had a wheelchair family member with us. Are you kidding me. The only good thing going here was the service people.
