    Very fun stay!

We are here with 6 in our family with 3 rooms. We have been having a great time and have enjoyed our stay. We really enjoyed trying the scuba experience in the pool with Marianna. She was so helpful and patient with us. We plan to go home and get certified so we can come back and go out on a tour in the ocean. Thank you to everyone!!!

    Meh

It is what you would expect for the price point, which is to say average at best. Friendly staff, but the food is awful. AC not working and no hot water upon check in. Thermostat allows you to set a temp but it doesn’t work - there are two temps, hot and cold, regardless of the setting. Not recommended unless you are a diver who wishes to experience Cozumel diving. Dressel Divers is great but it would be nice if there was a shop with at least minimal dive necessities.

I would NEVER come back to this resort‼️ Don’t waste your money‼️

We are currently still here at the resort as of Jan 12, 2022. 🛑 There are only 2 restaurants and the food is horrible in all! There is one hamburger stand by the pool which is the only good food in the whole resort. 🛑 The rooms are what you would expect in a $600 a week resort! And they smell horrible from sewer smell. We paid extra for the nicer room with a sitting room also 🛑 The main entertainment in lobby at night is the same guy every night singing basically karaoke 🛑 There has been basically zero entertainment around the pools for three days! 🛑 There’s only 1 pool and they have had one day of entertainment at the pool since we’ve been here on Jan 9, 🛑There is no room service at all and you cannot find any food after 10 PM so pack your food if you want to eat! ‼️ We would NEVER come back to this resort and we have been to many resorts over the past years in Mexico ‼️

    Great Food, People and SCUBA

The Dressel Diving Centre is right on the Iberostar Grounds. Second largest reef in the world. Beautiful. You board the diving boats right from the resort. Food was great. Outside of regular meal times, you can eat from the "snack buffet" by the pool any time in the afternoon. Grounds and rooms are kept clean. They have peacocks roaming the property. 8 flamingos wander just outside the main dining room. Staff are very friendly. Things work on time. The best of the restaurants is probably the Steakhouse but the Mexican and Japanese are good too. They could decorate those two restaurants in theme better but that is minor. Beach volleyball is there. Seems to have sand over a cement pad and the resort needs to rake more sand in, as there are hard spots. Sports directors doing lots of things but we had to get the adult volleyball going - people join in and it is a riot. Entertainment was mixed. Some nights quite good. We did not use the SPA, prices seemed expensive so we avoided.

Perfect SCUBA diving vacation in Island Paradise

We loved our SCUBA vacation at Iberostar. The resort is a divers' paradise as there are 4+ times per day when the Dressel Divers boats leave the dock for SCUBA. All diving sites are very close so the ride is no more than 15 min. One day, I was able to do three dives per day and still have plenty of time to relax. Cozumel reefs are one of the best diving spots on the planet. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous, there are flamingos, iguanas and other animals. We stayed at more upscale Iberostar properties, but Cozumel is our favorite because of the island feel, bungalows and hummocks. Angelo is a super star, we especially liked the aquafun workout with him at the pool. There is a good balance of activities vs. chill. Ismael at the kid's club was very nice, he entertained our kids (4.5 and 7 y.o.) very well. The kids club hours are limited as this is a relatively small Iberostar property targeted more towards adults. The buffet has plenty of choices to create a good meal for a price/quality ratio. There are other Iberostar resorts that offer better selection, but those are more expensive. We didn't like the mixed bar drinks so we only ordered Dos Equis beer on draft. The Rock show in the evening was a big hit, Angelo and the dancers were excellent. Overall, we'd love to stay there again as we come for scuba and relaxation in paradise. For non-divers and those who like a swimmable beach or big resorts, I'd recommend other Riviera Maya Iberostar properties.
