    Construction noise at 2 AM

    I woke up at 2 AM because of construction noise, like hammering or tools being dropped on a hard floor, called the operations manager to complain about the noise and I was told that there is nothing they can do and there is no other room that they can give me. They couldn’t care less that I can’t sleep. Unbelievable!

    Perfect Vegas hotel

    The hotel is beautiful. The front desk attendant was warm and helpful. I was there early and still was able to check in which was a welcome reprieve after 10 hours of flying. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. I was clumsy and broke a glass and housekeeping came immediately to clean it up. Towels are plush. Bed is comfortable. The hotel felt very secure. There was construction on my floor which was loud but I was up early for a business conference. If I was on holiday or hung over, that would have been annoying. The fountain show didn’t happen every night because of wind but the hotel doesn’t control Mother Nature. The shopping is top tier and I won some money at the slot machines so I loved it ☺️

    Disappointing – and that’s being kind. Won’t return.

    Feels like the hotel is cashing in on its reputation while cutting costs wherever possible. Facility is nice as expected; Staffing was the biggest issue. Examples: We keep the do not disturb tag on the door till we leave in the morning, usually between 10 and 10:30. Room was never cleaned. Bellagio policy: If Housekeeping sees the tag on the door once, that’s it. They never come back. The Guest is supposed to call to ask to have the room cleaned. But how do we know if they came by or not until we’re back in the evening? Towels felt like sandpaper; not what you’d expect in a five star five diamond hotel. Air conditioning was not getting the room cold. They sent an engineer who said it was OK but it wasn’t. They sent a second engineer that found that the filter was filthy and needed to be cleaned. Apparently they don’t have a regular maintenance schedule to do this, just wait for guest complaints. Security for the rooms was lax. No security at the lobby elevators, and frequently we could access our floor without using our key card. At the pool, an hour to get a soft drink from the server because she didn’t know how to enter it on the computer. Said it was her first day and expected me to understand. No apology. Different day, stopped at the pool bar for coffee at 10:00. They were out of coffee and said they’d get it from a different bar. Five minutes became 15 minutes and when I asked about the coffee, just got a shrug of shoulders. I said I couldn’t wait; response was OK. No apology. Casino always smelled of cigarette smoke, different from all the others we were in. Staff we came in contact with who seemed to be over 40 were skilled and attentive; under 40 (most) were just the opposite. Overall, the guests appeared less discriminating – probably reflecting Bellagio’s lower price point. Feels like they’re OK losing their long-term guests and repositioning the property. A note about me: I travel regularly; have stayed in 17 hotels in the last two years. I don’t work in hospitality but I’ve booked multiple large events with properties so understand their business.

    Just okay but hardly the experience you would expect

    A real mixed experience. Pros: -Attractive interior -Clean room -Fast elevators Cons: -Public areas in the afternoon and evening feel like a Walmart on Black Friday. A total zoo and not at all the atmosphere of a better hotel. --Panhandling in the exterior walkways of the hotel property -People passed out in the public areas and allowed to stay there for hours -Stale cigarette smoke almost everywhere -Filthy windows in the Spa Tower (see photos) -Housekeeper who barged into room at 10 PM saying we requested service. We had just checked in that afternoon. We explained we hadn't asked for anything and she acted like we were lying. No apologies from her or the front desk. We thought it was someone breaking into our room. Would never stay here again for this experience at these prices. We walked through other hotels that are less expensive and much more civilized.

    JD in the front office saved the day!!!

    We have stayed at the Bellagio in the past and always had a great experience. This time, a friend of ours was receiving a business award in Las Vegas. The couple invited us to join them and we spent several fun days at the Bellagio prior to the award ceremony. Upon arrival and checkin, I asked for a quiet room as I have severe insomnia. I also told the woman at the desk that we would gladly pay to upgrade to a suite. She said there were none available. She put us in a room that was overlooking the highway and terribly loud. I went back downstairs to switch to a different room. A man in the front office saw me waiting and asked how he could help. I told him the situation and that we were willing to upgrade to whatever we needed to do to get a quiet room. JD to the rescue!!! He went above and beyond to find a room that was not only quiet but much nicer. JD changed what could have been a miserable trip for me into a restful getaway. He was warm, friendly and very professional. My husband and I are in our 60's and travel extensively. My inability to sleep due to chronic insomnia is unfortunately, a determining factor in how enjoyable our vacations are. We ended up being in the renovated tower on a floor with our friends. The carpet, lighting and furnishings were lovely. Our room was on a higher floor and QUIET! Our stay at the Bellagio was again a good experience because JD took the time to listen and truly cared. JD gets outstanding marks on customer service. Kudos and a BIG THANK YOU TO JD at the Bellagio!
