Outdated and smelly
Overdue for a renovation. Stayed 8 days in two types of rooms (Standard then Suite). Both rooms smelled like old cigarettes. Sticky light switches. Mold in the bathroom. Lackluster amenities. No umbrellas around the pool. Gym had lots of treadmills but not much else. Most of the staff were super friendly though. Location is great. Easy access to the trollies. Walking distance to Bourbon Street. Lots of shops and bars nearby. For the Money we spent I would look elsewhere.

Rooms need cleaning
Great location but needs cleaning. Room was dirty, you don’t get water unless you ask, your don’t get clean towels unless you ask, when you call the concierge no one picks up. Staff is friendly.

Gold Standard Customer Service
First impressions mean alot and this Marriott exceeded all expectations some 10 days in advance. A huge shoutout to Rutendo Mantingo who answered an email inquiry about a room upgrade upon availability during our time in New Orleans. Not only was the inquiry answered in an extremely timely fashion it was done with a personal phone call. As someone who routinely stays in Marriott properties any question as to why was answered here. In 20 plus years of travel for work and vacation this was the first time this has ever been done. Well done New Orleans Marriott. We arrived on a Friday for a 3day stay and the first impressions continued to check in where we were assisted by Lisa Burns. A very pleasant and informative ambassador for the property and like Rutendo went above and beyond. Her recommendations describing the property and its amenities were informative, helpful and appreciated. In the interests of keeping this review to point all I can say is the customer service was top shelf with everyone we encountered. The hotel was impeccable for cleanliness, comfort and room amenities. An older hotel yes but very clean comfortable and beyond our expectations as first timers to the property. Would definitely stay here again, again and again. Close to everything yet far enough away to unwind after touring New Orleans. If I had to find one thing to complain about the water pressure was non existent in the shower in our room. Not sure it is commonplace but it did not dim our enthusiasm at all for this property. This place it all to make your experience in New Orleans a very memorable one. Customer service here is gold standard.

New Orleans Marriott: A great getaway
My friend Colleen and I had a wonderful time at the Marriott. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to Brittany in Security who came to our aid when Colleen had a minor medical emergency. Also to Rossana in the Market who was so helpful. The outdoor rooftop pool was amazing, as was our suite. Highly recommended.

Disappointing - can’t use the amenities.
The hotels itself is ok- needs upgrades and cleanliness is questionable but good location and nice staff. I’m writing this because it’s super disappointing that they have a great evening like the pool that I can’t access, why, “because there were storms today so they closed it”. Yeah, storms that stopped 4 hours ago and no more in the forecast. It should be open for another 3 hours but they just shut it down and won’t reopen it for the day, so I am not able to utilize this great amenity for my trip. What a bummer, that’s not responsive to guests, that’s just doing what’s easy for the hotel. Also my friend booked and was charged a resort fee- she received gift cards- they don’t tell you the “free” whiskey tastings are are free to everyone but only in the morning and the “joie” cars they give you are impossible to use online. I tried using and they just said the card wasn’t valid.
