    WALLS SUPER THIN

    The walls must be SUPER THIN!!!!! I was woken up by a phone call and a personal knock at the door at 2:00 in the morning saying the TV was too loud. It was at a normal level!!! My husband can’t fall asleep without the sound. I thought my daughter was dead or something with the extent they went to in order for us to turn the TV off! Absolutely ridiculous!!!! I do wonder if the Karen next door called the NOPD and told them to hush because we could hear them from the 46th floor as well. We were not partying or anything. We were old people ASLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!

    New Orleans is 100% Back and This is Where to Stay

    I have enjoyed an awesome and very normal weekend in the great city of New Orleans. The hotel staff was helpful on checkin. great room overlooking the city and the Mississippi. Comfortable bed, great AC to keep it cool. Wifi has been good, large bath, room safe. No room fridge, Love the location a few blocks to Royal St and Bourbon. Yes the hotel faces Canal St but not much noise as the rooms dont face Canal St. Parking is paid for via a separate app, no gates/paying for parking as you enter/leave so that makes it easy. EV chargers in garage. So glad I picked New Orleans and this is a great hotel to enjoy the city from

    Go To Hotel for NOLA

    The hotel is fantastic. I was concerned about it being on busy Canal St., but its location made it convenient to everything, including all the streetcar lines. Katie was kind enough to try to get me an early check-in, if possible, and came through. The room was great. The view was incredible, day and night, a sweeping view of the city and the Mississippi River, complete with steamboats and freighters navigating the bends in the river towards the delta. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was so comfortable, I slept very well. The bathroom was well appointed and water pressure fine. The room was very quiet, I never heard anything from outside. The tv was very large. The front desk staff were so attentive and helpful, making restaurant recommendations, along with suggestions on things to do. I took the streetcar to the City Park, which is a lovely oasis. Of course, the St. Charles streetcar to the garden district is a long time favorite. I can't wait to return!

    Long 21st birthday weekend for my son

    The view was perfect as you can see former the attached photograph and the room was clean. We were very impressed with the efficiency of the elevators, no waiting ever for one. The checkin was less efficient and under staffed for a very busy weekend. Dur to covid, no room service was provided during our stay, and trying to reach customer service by phone was impossible. We made due without fresh towels and very thankful for the cleaning lady that let me have more coffee.

    Beware

    Our room was not clean upon arrival. First looking in the room there was a used pack of gum lying on the floor, if the room had been vacuumed then there is no way trash would be on the floor. There is a huge crack in the ceiling. Once in the room it was extremely stuffy and smelt stale, so we turned the air down to 68 so that when we returned it would not be that stuffy. We ran down the street to the local cvs and came back. Once we returned to the room, less than an hour later, it was still stuffy. So we decided to call the front desk. Trying to use the phone, it was dead and wouldn’t work, I finally got the speaker phone to work and reported both problems. Maintenance came up and immediately helped us and was so nice. Next, we decided to start taking our showers. After taking a less than a 15 minute shower my friend was standing in about 3-4 inches of water because the drain wasn’t working properly. After finding the trash on the floor we had already questioned the cleanliness of the room and standing in a body of water where someone else’s filth could be refutes the point of taking a shower and is nasty. Once again made a call to report this issue. The same maintenance man came up and helped us again, he was just as polite and quick to help us. Getting ready for bed we attempted to turn the tv on, now the tv doesn’t work. By this point I walked down to the front desk and spoke to the front desk woman in person. She seemed annoyed and told me I could have just called down again and didn’t need to walk down to the lobby. She said I can give you a $40 voucher to go to the bar and have some wine and I proceeded to tell her we were in our pajamas and I literally only changed clothes to walk down and speak to someone in person. I requested a member of management to respond because as a Marriott hotel this was totally unacceptable for this room to be in this shape. During this 3rd visit the maintenance manager accompanied the same maintenance man that had helped us previously. I told the manager that I wasn’t sure how this hotel was ran but other Marriott hotels have a much higher standard. The number of issues we had was totally unacceptable. He offered us another room but that no one would assist us because bellboys aren’t allowed to assist at this time. We declined because surely by the 3rd visit we wouldn’t have any problems. In return he told us he would talk to someone and take care of our first night there. At checkout, after the 3rd night, we never had a manager of customer service reach out and check on us, make sure we had no problems, or how our stay was. Then when reviewing our bill there was 1 $50 discount. We paid $134/night to stay at this hotel. So I went to the front desk and told them to review our stay and how we were told we would get a night off as a result. We needed up getting $106 discount. We never have had this number of issues during a stay. As a nurse manager and having patients who have issues, I always go back and to check and make sure there issues are corrected and that their needs are taken care of. It was completely poor management and whoever is in charge needs to reevaluate. No we will not be returning.
