Great hotel, staff, food, and service.
Beautiful hotel and rooms. Maids were always kind and kept my room neat while I worked the IRE Conference. Also the Valets were so nice and super fast at getting my vehicle ready only a few minutes after I checked out. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well, as a native New Orleanean I rarely get the opportunity to stay in local hotels outside of work and I am so glad this was my latest experience. 10/10

Wonderful
What a lovely hotel. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed in a room with two queen beds on the 26th floor and it was quiet and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was updated and clean. There was a fridge in the room and complimentary water. There was also a nice desk space and a cute window seat. The staff at the lobby bar are great and there is a lot of comfortable space there for business meetings. The area the hotel is in is along the main Canal Street drag in the business district close to the French Quarter and lots of coffee shops and restaurants.

Could do with a little more service-focus
Stayed for 4 nights to attend conference at convention center. Location of hotel for access to city's varied offerings is good - including restaurants. Doormen were welcoming and warm with their greetings but check-in staff were non-chalant. Check-in was efficient but keys did not work that required a revisit to rectify. Assigned room (corner) was of good size but temperature control was not working well. Room temperature remained high despite set at lowest setting and was significantly warner than the temperature in the corridors and rest of hotel. Wifi was also very weak that required workperson to address and fix - but was fine after correction. Amenities in room were as expected of the chain - bed was comfortable and shower (water pressure etc) was great. There were ample electrical outlets throughout the room. Singular restaurant (Brazilian) was not to standard. Breakfast food and service were horrendous - required visits into the kitchen to seek staff who left patrons waiting for >15-20 mins. Dinner was acceptable but food quality was sub-par. Floors in restaurant was also very wet when I visited at 7:00 am that was hazardous as a few patrons slipped when walking on the tiled section. I confess, I was disappointed with my experience at this JW.

Just ok…..
This hotel is just average. Typically JW Marriott hotels are on the higher end of the scale but this one is not. It is not different than any other regular Marriott hotel. You can tell the room has gotten a lot of use. The carpet is dingy and it seems like it needs an overall refresh of some of the furniture. Overall, it is well maintained for the use it gets but it is definitely not an upscale hotel. The room cleanliness was below my expectation…. A lot of random hair throughout the room. The location is good… right on canal.

Five star experience
Stayed Easter weekend. Great location. Walkable to the French Quarter, riverfront, and so many restaurants and attractions. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Room was very nice. I would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful hotel.
