Aran islands doolin ferry company
We booked a combo tour from doolin pier in County clare . It was brilliant with excellent friendly service from the doolin ferry Co. They are the red ferry company at doolin pier. Fast ferry straight to Inis mor with separate ferry cruise to see cliffs of moher from below. Highly recommend it and they are very amenable to making changes to bookings ( if spaces on boats allow) Inis mor is the biggest island , they are all nice with beautiful beaches and steeped with historical stone ruins to explore. Great day out with doolin ferry company
Stay AWAY, at least for now
I'm in my 3rd day here at Pop Century, and I've had nothing but issues. I have 2 rooms with a total of 7 people. I was at the front desk 5 different times within 24 hours of arrival because our magic bands would not open our room doors. They canceled my reservation and re-booked it to fix the issue. That just led to additional issues. I tried to use my magic band to purchase food and when they changed the reservation my card info wasn't moved over. Neither I nor my wife can access our reservation via my disney experience. Maid service didn't come because they now think I just arrived. This is my 5th family trip to disney and there is a good chance this will be my last. Besides the hotel troubles, Disney is just not the same without being able to do meet and greets with the characters. I suggest that anyone considering a Disney vacation to wait until they are fully staffed and any and all COVID restrictions are removed. This trip has been a complete disaster and a waste of money.
Clean and fun!
Stayed a single night and was happy with how clean it was. Ate at the food court twice and the food was good basic food. Cute pool area and the hotel is on the skyway line, which I did not use but looked fun. Would definitely stay again if staying in a value resort.
Great stay at Pop!
This was our first time staying in a value hotel on Disney property and we were a bit nervous about what to expect. We had an early morning flight and were picked up by Magical Express transportation and delivered to the hotel where we dropped off our luggage and hit the Skyliner and arrived at EPCOT just before opening - awesome start to our trip! Skyliner transportation is fabulous and the lines move quickly, would love to see this expanded. Our luggage was delivered to our (preferred) room while we were in the park. Our room was not huge but was amazingly well laid out and functional. This was one of our favorite hotel rooms and we will definitely be back! We were on a higher floor away from elevators, which at times was inconvenient, but it also meant that things were pretty quiet. There aren’t a lot of fancy extras here, but the resort has everything we would actually use to have a great long weekend getaway. The pools were large and clean but no slides. The cafeteria was the same and we had a great breakfast for a reasonable price, but no other restaurant options on the grounds. It was fun to walk the grounds and admire the decorations in the different decades. One of my favorite things about this hotel is that there are queues for the buses. I hate the free for all getting onto bus transportation entails at other resorts, so this was great! Our only negative experiences occurred while we were leaving. The line to retrieve luggage was super long and slow moving. We allowed 25 minutes before our Magical Express departure for the airport, but it took longer. Not a big issue since our bus never showed up. Ourselves and others who were waiting tried calling Disney Transportation and asking for assistance from the front desk but we were unable to get through or get any answers. The bus finally arrived over an hour late with no explanation. (It was not the previous bus - that one arrived while we were waiting in line for our luggage and we were told ours was on the way). It was a mad scramble through the airport to get to our flights, but we did make it, just very aggravated with the lack of Disney service at the end of an otherwise great getaway.
This is better than a roadside motel but make no mistake this is a motel not a hotel. The room was nice for the level of service and recently renovated. There is a motion activated bathroom fan which kept the room free of smells and mold/mildew. This is the only Florida hotel I've been in where there was literally ZERO mold staining in the bathroom area. Not sure if that was due to the newness of the renovation, the fan or thorough Covid cleaning procedures. The faux wood floor is nice but tough on tired feet. Have a pair of crocs to walk around the room at the end of the day. We put a clean towel on the floor between the beds to act as a throw rug to wipe the floor dust from our feet before getting into bed. The price is a value if the Magic Express is included (free ride to/from airport) and then you don't have to waste your money on rentals and parking fees. This service is going away soon. The SkyLiner is the best new thing on resort property and super efficient. House keeping is every other day but our garbage was gone daily. A room manager (I suspect security) shows up daily to do a room inspection. Not sure if they are trying to make sure housekeeping is doing their jobs, looking for low class vacationers who trash rooms and steal towels or trying to spot and stop potential terrorist incidents - or all of the above. The pools are nice enough to keep cool but can get full and loud at the end of the day. The artifacts in the lobby are a trip and the music played at the pool let me relive my childhood. If you want to be on property for the lowest possible price and use the Magical Express and Skyliner/buses - this is a great option. If you care about mid-range amenities such as pool grottos with slides and jacuzzis, room service, spas/exercise rooms and wait service dining, you can pay the same price off property - but you'd need your own transportation to the parks.
