Could be better
The room was beautiful. Gorgeous ocean view. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with our nanny and two children, The problem with the room was not apparent until night time, when we realized that we had to trek through the children's room to get to the bathroom.Such a long walk when you're sleepy! I go to the bathroom at least twice each night, and was quite annoyed. The staff was friendly and helpful for the most part,,,except for the young lady in the coffee shop who was annoyed that I dared to enter a few minutes before 7am (no coffee available before 7am anywhere on the compound!). No way could I manage that. But Franz at the front desk was quite efficient, and arranged for us to have a coffee pot in our room. He also secured for us an extra bed (the two children were not sleeping well together) in no time at all!) The food was the greatest disappointment. Never before had we been to a resort in Jamaica where such little emphasis was placed on Jamaican cuisine! They had the bare minimum in terms of entree, and the desserts all had a distinctive Spanish flavour. There was way too little variety, especially for such a price tag! We also didnt like the fact that the gym didnt open until 7am....and closed at 7pm. So we were not able to work out. We're early risers and are usually done with our work out by 6:30am. We were ready to leave before our stay was over. I dont think we will be revisiting at all.
I stayed at rose hall suites, grounds are beautiful, clean, lots of beach space and chairs, I had access to the beaches part, there is a private bar with beds. Top exclusive and personalized service from Felix and Steven! Who I would like to thank for making my stay amazing! From any drink on the beach to food service plated how you want! Grounds are beautiful, water is clean! Lots of restaurants and entertainment for the family! Felix and Steven are dedicated to making the stay as comfortable as possible. You don’t get that in many places so a big big thank you for the warm hospitality two these two!!!! Hope to visit you soon !
This was the 8th time my wife and I had booked an all inclusive vacation with cheapcaribbean.com and this was the 5th Iberostar Resort we had stayed at. In the past we visited the Riviera Maya and Dominican Republic, and this was our first time in Jamaica. This was our favorite trip yet! The Iberostar staff, including the entertainment team, bartenders, waiters, grounds crew, and maids were all very friendly and helpful. The pools and swim up bar were amazing, the beach was beautiful, the food at the ala carte restaurants were perfect, and our beach front room was breathtaking! This resort features a lazy river, similar to the one at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in the Riviera Maya. I would recommend this property 100%. The infinity pool in the Rose Hall Suites section is the best pool I have ever used while on vacation, it appears to go right in to the ocean while you are in the pool.
My family and I stayed at the Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites from June 4 to June 8. The pros: the grounds are neatly kept, the pool bar, entertainment, and food truck staff are awesome. Upon checking you're not given clear direction. The food options are very limited. It's extremely difficult to get dinner reservations. I encountered several rude employees. For example, on June 8, 2021, I had dinner reservations at the French restaurant. The menu was written in French, the server was unwilling to explain the menu. She even walked off and sucked her teeth as if she was annoyed while my son was attempting to order. We complained and was given another server who wasn't much better. The food was cold and lacked flavor. Most of the food on this resort is flavorless and not fresh. The rooms and the hotel is a bit dated. I was underwhelmed by my experience at Iberostar. I have been to many resorts and by far this has been the worst experience in terms of food and customer service. Some of the staff members are unpleasant, unwelcoming, and outright rude. This a 3star hotel at best.
4 star really?
Let me start off by saying this hotel was not the worst I’ve ever stayed at but it definitely was not the best hotel that I’ve ever say that. This hotel is listed at four stars but I would think that it was a three star at best. The food lacks flavor which is surprising being that this is a Jamaican resort. I’ve never been to a Jamaican resort where the food was bland and the temperature of the food was cool to room Temperature even with being on a heater. Some of the food was stale like leftovers and the desserts were dry and lackluster plus the fruit was not ripe at all. There was a huge hole in the wall in the lobby ceiling. The staff often miscommunicated from the concierge to the front desk to the rest of the employees. The best food was at the food truck. After a certain time of day there’s cats walking around the pool. There was also cats walking around the steakhouse restaurant. We stayed at the smaller pool but there are no staff members to providing assistance or take drink orders. All of the staff were at the larger and if by the smaller pool you literally had to flag someone down and bring them over to you in order to get your drink order. The larger pool was barely cleaned even with coming out first thing in the am. I do not think I will ever stay at another Iberostar hotel again.
