    Great Resort, highly recommend

We stayed at Iberostar Paraiso Lindo over the 4th of July weekend 2-6 July. First and foremost, I would like to thank Iberostar for the celebration on the 4th, they decorated the resort with USA and red white and blue decor, in the evening they had an awesome show followed by fireworks. Really well done, they went all out and it was very much appreciated. This is the first time we have been back to Iberostar Paraiso Lindo since two stays in 2018. We enjoyed our stays in 2018 and this latest stay did not disappoint, since our last stay in 2018, the resort has been renovated quite a bit. The rooms were fresh and nicely appointed, as were the bathrooms. The staff is a hard working bunch that really takes care of the property, which is immaculate. My 11 year old daughter loves the wave pool and we spent most of our days there. There is plenty of seating and we never had an issue finding a place to relax. They have added ice machines and water refilling stations in the hotel area of the resort, which is a nice addition. We have stayed at numerous resorts in the Cancun area, Planet Hollywood 2025, Ocean Riviera Paradise, Nickelodeon and twice at Iberostar and our favorite resort thus far is Iberostar. It is a beautiful resort with lots of wildlife, we saw, a bunch of Coati's with their babies, iguana's, peacocks and after eating dinner at El Rancho, as I was walking out of the restaurant there was a mother spider monkey walking through the lobby with her baby on her back. It was a pretty amazing sight. My daughter did the free intro to scuba diving in the main pool, she thought it was awesome. My wife and I are already certified divers and were excited that our daughter found the intro to scuba awesome. On our next visit we plan on booking a dive excursion at the resort, once my daughter is certified. Now for a couple of items I found a bit bad about the resort. First, is the attempt to have you attend a 1.5 hour presentation to join the Iberostar Membership program, which is really an attempt to sell you a timeshare, even though they don't use that term and will tell you it isn't a timeshare. We spoke to a lady who sat through the presentation and she said it was an attempt to sell a timeshare. They hit us up upon check in, which is fine but then on two occasions we were basically harassed at the pool by an individual trying to convince us to attend the presentation. We politely said no thank you but the guy persisted. The last thing I want is someone interrupting my relaxing time at the pool on vacation insisting I attend the presentation, even after saying no. Next is what I consider a sanitary issue. The beach snack shop, which serves hotdogs and hamburgers didn't did not provide tongs or any other utensil in which to get a hotdog or hamburger, you basically had to reach in with your hand to get what you wanted, that is very unsanitary having a bunch of people sticking their hands in to get a burger or hotdog. Tongs should be available to get what you want. Second, none of the serving staff at the buffet had sanitary gloves on, for instance, the lady working the eggs to order station didn't have gloves on but would reach into the bowl of cheese with her bare hands and then put it in the omelet. Both of these are easily fixable situations, provide tongs at the beach snack bar to get a burger or dog and enforce the buffet staff to wear gloves when serving food to guest. Despite those two negatives, we enjoyed our stay and Iberostar is definitely our favorite destination in Cancun and we plan on going back as soon as we are able.

    Fairytale Wedding

We had a wonderful time and wedding here!! The wedding planner, photographer at Novia Mia Photography and the florist were all amazing!! We went to the disco after the wedding and had a blast! Food was great and service and shows were awesome! My only downside was no steamer for my dress and the only option they had was 300 usd to get it cleaned.

Beautiful resort, family with teenagers had a great time! Would love to return!

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐ We stayed for 11 nights at Lindo. We are from Scotland so we loved the weather especially! Before we came here I made a spreadsheet of all the hotels in this area and this was the one that ticked all our boxes - water sports, water slides, golf, beach front, spa, gym, tennis, scuba etc and also the fact that we have previously stayed at other Iberostar resorts in Europe. We stayed in block 54 which is right beside the main pool. It was a great location - equidistant to the beach and buffet/reception. We had an adjoining room with our sons which worked out well. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the mini bar was restocked every day when the room was cleaned. Our boys also ordered room service a couple of times which was great for them when they wanted to chill. The sea was full of sargassum so not as pretty as usual so we didn’t really venture in much which was a shame as we normally would but it’s still lovely to lie at the beach and listen to the waves. They were working constantly to try and clean the sargassum from the beach and it did look a lot better on the last day of our holiday. We also liked the beach bar for a quick lunch as a change of scenery from the pool or buffet and we also had massages on the beach which were amazing. We really enjoyed the pools as well, there was always something fun going on and we always got a lounger at the pool or the beach. The concierge got us reservation for the Japanese teppenyaki restaurant (although she only booked 2 places, not 4 🤦🏼‍♀️ but this was sorted out at the restaurant). I’d say this was my favourite restaurant! We booked the steakhouse on the app, a week in advance. We got Yellowstone vibes and the starters were really nice but the restaurant was honestly 3/4 empty so that did annoy me 😡 as I’m not sure why it’s so difficult for people to get reservations when the place is more than empty! Under the sea and Mexican restaurant were just okay. We just walked in and got a drink while we waited for a table, we didn’t wait long. Lemon & Spices (Greek) had the potential to be lovely as the menu is simple but good however the food took ages to arrive and when it did the kebabs were cold so we sent them back and we didn’t get the oregano fries as promised on the menu, just normal ones and we didn’t get the tzatziki or pitta either 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also the wine wasn’t great 🤢 but you could pay for a (presumably nicer) bottle. The star cafe was great too for coffees and snacks and never seemed too busy. Our boys are older (17 & 15) and kept themselves entertained every day - there’s so much to do (& eat) so they were happy 🤣 They were never really bored. It even rained one full day and we still had the best time - they put on a movie quiz which was fun then we had tacos and crepes at the shopping mall (the best tacos in my opinion) and our boys made me do the water slides which were all fun and then lazy river too (with a drink in your hand! ☺️) The Fireshow, foam party, lazy river with a pina colada, water slides and pool obstacle courses were highlights for us! And the dj at the pool was awesome 🙌🏻 🎶 My youngest son was too young to use the gym here but he goes at home and really enjoys it so they said he could use the gym if he had a personal trainer which was really reasonable and he loved his sessions with his trainers Angel & Sergio 💪🏻 The resorts and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL! It’s a huge resort! We always got a golf cart at the Lindo reception. There was always something to do or see or somewhere new to eat or drink or explore. The people are lovely and work so hard to keep place clean and looking good and making sure you’re having a good time and they give you an excellent service. We have traveled a fair bit and stayed at nice hotels but this resort is very special 💖 . A small but handy thing was how we liked how your wrist band was also the room key 😃 The shops in the resort are VERY expensive - $47 for sunscreen and $16 for a bag of crisps! 😮 We booked with Paradise Experience Tours for the swimming with sea turtles and cenote trip which was incredible! Highly recommend! It was a day we’ll never forget! They leant us a GoPro for underwater photos which was a nice touch I thought. We also booked a trip to Isla Mueres with XPO tours which we really enjoyed too. It was nice to swim in turquoise water as there was no sargassum there. We saw a huge sea turtle and snorkelled with amazing fish including barracudas! We definitely didn’t experience a hard sell for the time shares/membership or whatever it is!! Just smile and say no thanks a few times- no big deal at all! Some seem to like to complain but we had very little complaints. Your holiday is what you make it 🙌🏻 We’ll definitely come back here sometime! ❤️ !

Beautiful resort, but very difficult to get restaurant reservations

Iberostar Lindo Review - 4/5⭐️ Just got back from Iberostar Lindo. There were 6 of us, 2 parents and 4 teenagers aged 18, 17, 16 & 13. Overall we had a great time. The grounds are beautiful!! The beach was unswimmable due to red flags and sargassum while we were there, but that wasn’t the resorts fault and I prepared our kids in-advance. Resort staff worked tirelessly clearing the beach of the seaweed, but the water was still brown and winds made the waves too big to comfortably swim. However, the beach still had a lot of people laying out, playing volleyball etc. The smell wasnt too bad from the seaweed, we ate lunch there several days. We spent our time in the pool. The water was the perfect temperature, my kids loved the music and games and my husband and I loved the swimup bar and having homemade lunch options by the pool. Alexei was our favorite! He rounded us up daily for everything from ping pong to water aerobics, volleyball, darts, football, and even shows at night. By day 3 he had all of our names memorized. My kids adored him and added him on Instagram.😆 My 13 year old also tried out the free scuba diving lesson! Lazy River was very lazy, but I found it to be relaxing. The kids liked the watersides. We LOVED the magic show! Impressing 4 teenagers is not easy, but we were all entertained! The circus show was good. Fire show was also good. The performers are incredibly talented, but it was outdoors, 85 degrees with limited seating- and too packed and hot to be able to fully see and enjoy the show. The resort is huge. I work 12 hour shifts on my feet at work, but still managed to get a nasty blister while at the resort. (Bring comfy tennis shoes!) I ended up utilizing the golf cart shuttle the kast 2 days. Thank goodness for these, or i wouldnt have made it to lunch, dinner or the beach. The pool was the only place that wasnt a 10-15 minute walk from our room. (Also, for those with mobility issues, Lindo does not have elevators and their buildings have 3 floors). Our room was clean and spacious. Our sliding door was leaking from overnight storms and we had standing water in our room for the first two days. The staff was there within 10 minutes of our phone call cleaning it up. They then sent someone to check in again and when it was still raining in they sent someone to recaulk the door, then checked in again with us that night and day 3 to make sure the problem was resolved. I was impressed with a resort of that size that they were so attentive and relieved that we did not have to change rooms since our kids were in a room next to ours. We loved seeing the animalsls! Caoti’s and Peacocks, Iguanas and more! Unfortunately, we were not able to find the adorable monkeys while we were there. Our only complaint was that it was impossible to get reservations at any of the restaurants that required a reservation. We were there 6 nights. Within an hour of arrival I tried to book a reservation and there were 0 available. We even offered to break down in to groups of 3, and they still could not accommodate us the entire 6 nights we were there. We were all looking forward to eating at the steakhouse and the Japanese restaurant, but we were stuck at the buffet 6 nights in a row. We were told from a few lucky people who were able to get a reservation that the restaurants weren’t even half full, so I’m guessing this is a staffing problem, but I will say that it’s probably not the best business decision on their part. This will be the one and only reason we don’t return to Iberostar.

Not the best Playa Del Carmen has to offer

Overall the grounds and pools are nice and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. The big issue with this resort is the food. It is two stars at best. Even the premium “reservation” restaurants have less than ideal food and everything seems mass produced and very commercial And served cold. Everything lacks flavor and freshness. This was not a 4 or 5 star experience for dining by any means. They also have no to go food options outside of the star cafe which had stale/cold pastries and a few sandwiches mass produced. The stores on property sell things for 4 times the cost. For example a bag of chips and M&M’s was $15US. A bottle of banana boat spray sunscreen was $45US. I felt Like I was at adult summer camp with reusable plastic cups everywhere vs at a high end 4-5 star resort. I just wanted a paper cup and a napkin! The rooms were clean but dated and the furniture/decor was very random and uncomfortable. For a family of 4 the beds were full size vs queens making sleeping arrangements very tight. The beach was small and the seaweed was out of control on some days and stinky. Outside of our room there was a times a distinct oder/sewer smell.
