Solid 3/5 stars
This is a decent resort that is in a great location - room 82 royal garden 1 bedroom. It was on the second story and there are no elevators. The room itself is a complitaion of new (appliances, countertops, repainted lanai) and old (dressers, furniture, cooking utensils/pans). There were some minor issues such as a broken stop function on the coffee maker, some of the outlets didn't work - same for switches, the glass on the furniture on the lanai was cracked and some of the wooden outdoor shades didn't open or close. These issues were more annoyances, but I wanted to mention them. The room was always warm to hot. No AC so I had 3 fans (provided) on at all times. Early in the mornings and late evening there'd be a nice breeze but it was around 70-85 degrees at all times in the unit. It's an adjustfment for those that are used to using the AC. The location was terrific and close to the shopping mall across the street. If you need groceries you can head to Safeway or Costco in Lihue - 25 min drive or Big Save or Longs Drug store (basically a CVS) -10 min drive. The beach is very close! If you go through the Marriot next door you can easily arrive at Poipu Beach within a 10 minute walk to snorkel, observe sea turltes on the beach/water and be lucky enough to see a sea lion. As others have mentioend, the "checkout and cleaning fee" is absurd and cleaning is not daily - it depends on how long you stay. This is a solid 3 star resort.

Cockroaches!
Cockroaches, cockroaches, cockroaches! Need I say more?! When asked the staff about this, they said “well you are in Hawaii”!! I get there are cockroaches in Hawaii, but there should not be any cockroaches inside of a condo so you pay 500+ for per night! we had a one bedroom and there was $264 cleaning fee plus taxes ended up being $310 plus a nonrefundable $69 damage fee! On arrival, we also received a letter stating there had been multiple break-ins into the porches while people were at home and multiple car break-ins! Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere in Poipu or go to Hannalei Bay on the North Shore and rent an Airbnb for much much cheaper!

BUYER BEWARE- (see Google reviews too) show $350 non negotiable at check in ‘checkout and cleaning fee’ Otherwise great.
As mentioned in other reviews $350 ‘checkout and cleaning’ fee not included in bookings. This is paid at check in. Be prepared to pay! It seems the same for short and long stays. Our sea view apartment was 13-72 was well appointed and as we had such a lovely view decided to eat in most days. Got take out from Bangkok Happy Bowl and Sushi Bar one evening that was good. Even saw whales breaching while eating lunch on our lanai. Pool is at the Athletic club across the road with coffee shop and restaurant. Lovely grounds with lots of birds and big lawns especially for children to explore and play. Beach is great for children and adults with beach chairs. Surf and boogie boards avail to rent. See my 5* review of Kaua’i Surf School. Loungers are on the lawn with a good view. Walk along to Poipu beach park with great shallow snorkelling.

Old Hawaiian Charm
This is my third consecutive year staying at the Kiahuna Plantation and it always is a phenomenal choice. It has retained its old Hawaiian charm for all these years, which gives off the aloha spirit. Don't go in expecting all brand-new appliances or modern design - it's meant to be pristine Hawaii. Esch unit I've stayed in has had all the amenities you need, and it's in a perfectly central location! We walked to all of our dinners and barely needed the rental car.

Great spot!
It was a great space with a great view and a well supplied townhouse for what we needed. The staff were also very nice. We would definitely stay there again in the future. We really enjoyed the location, as it is located right between Poi'pu beach, shopping and restaurants that are easy to walk to.
