The resort itself is nice. Some of the employees and guests are not color friendly..if you know what I mean. The pool closes at 8 pm; that was a bummer. Thankfully we had other things planned where it didn't bother us much. Food was average; breakfast was the best! As soon as you get there, they will interrogate you about things you don't care about on a Vaca. They promised things that they didn't deliver on. We wanted to switch out our room due to a smell, and they refused and came to spray air fresher...that was a joke. You will run across some good people, but they are far a few. The drinks, scenery were great. The sun club benefits were a plus but not needed. They did adhere to covid restrictions and supplied covid tests. You will consistently be approached while eating on the beach to buy things. I spent more time saying no than just relaxing. Again, Puerto Vallarta was a beautiful place to visit, and I will visit again just with another resort. Please tip in US dollars; converting to peso can be a little confusing...lol
The resort was nice enough, rooms average, hotel staff very pleasant and accommodating. It would have been great to have had wifi in the room like most hotels in Puerto Vallarta do these days. COVID 19 was rampant in the world during our visit and we felt that the staff enforced the rules as stringently as possible. The food was hit or miss. We had a couple of a la carte meals that were delicious and a few that were barely edible. Breakfast was served in a tiny room with mobs of people running over each other to get their food served to them. The line for the snack bar by the pool was ridiculous with 1 person cooking hamburgers for everyone which was the only item available to order. Overall, we had a nice time but probably won't return.
Great family vacation
Sunscape in Puerto Vallarta is awesome! Two families with 4 kids (5-10 old) had a lot of fun: beautiful beach, pools and water park (for 12 and under), beach volleyball and soccer, and of course great shows (our kids favorite is light show with fire). There are also parasailing, snorkeling boat tours, jet ski, banana ride right on the beach. They are pretty cheap, so we’ve tried them all. Great buffet and 2 special restaurants gave a great food choices. Plus burgers and nachos at the pool grill :). And of course, best part of our stay is hotel staff - very friendly and professional. Special thanks to David from entertainment - he plays all possible sports, dances, and gives his energy to all guests! Photo with panorama view from our room on 12 floor.
Not worth the price
Overall I would not return. Miguel made the stay better. He had champagne at the pool all day for us, and even managed to find me some bacon! Rooms are strictly average. Grounds are not plush. Ocean water is dirty and smelly. Vendors do not move all week they just ask all day long. Chair hogging is fierce. lines for dinner are long, one night we ate at ten pm. food is a C-
Fun For Families
We spent a weekend in Puerto Vallarta at the beach with Sunscapes. We wanted to see what the hotel was like for families, especially the children's club with the waterpark, as we are new members of UVC and while we are retired, we look forward to future travels with grandkids. The partial ocean view room was spacious with full sized amenities in the bathroom and we even had a view of the Saturday night fire juggling show from our balcony. Everything was very well maintained and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
