Great place need to pay attention to detail

The staff was incredible and the food was delicious. There were maintenance issues with the minibar and the shampoo stations needed restocking. It took two days for the minibar to be fixed. Also in another room the minibar was nos stocked every day. I do recommend reserving for dinners are soon as you arrive with the concierge.

Great stay - will be back!

The only reason I give this resort 4 stars is because the pool itself is in need of maintenance. The rest our trip was amazing. Our room and the rest of the grounds are in good shape, and staff are constantly cleaning, pruning and maintaining. The beach remains wonderful, and the food is plentiful and fresh at the buffets. Not a huge fan of the specialty restaurants but if you can’t find what you want at the buffets, you are a pickier eater than me, and I am picky! The Dio de los Muertos show was super interesting with great singing and dancing. This is our third visit here, and we continue to find the resort safe, comfortable and clean. Highly recommend the Oceanfront junior suite. Also highly recommend the snorkeling excursion with Dressel Divers from the dive shack on the beach, Kevin is so knowledgeable! Sad to be leaving tomorrow. For us, however, the team at Iberostar Playa Mita is what really makes this place special. So here are my shout-outs: Carlos checked us in very efficiently, and remembered our names and room numbers throughout our stay, and has arranged for a late checkout tomorrow. We arranged our transportation from the airport through Felipe, who miraculously answered a cell call at the same number we used back about 3 years ago. Ricardo picked us up at the airport with a sign with our name on it, and the transportation was private, clean, safe and friendly. Our favourite bartender was Jose at the pool bar, and Mayra, the cocktail server at the Lobby Bar was outstanding, friendly and efficient and remembered our names and drinks. Cinthia at the pool was efficient and remembered our drinks. Outstanding servers were Lety, Frida and Ramon. Lety taught us Spanish, Frida has a delightful way about her, and Ramon is just flat out hilarious. Marco who I think might be a maître d’, was great, and he and Christian, the super-chef, quickly resolved an issue I had trying to get some pasta, with grace and speed. Also Christian’s lobster bisque and saffron rice are absolutely delicious. The bisque is comparable to anything we would get in Vancouver, which is a total food town. Our housekeeper, Marisol, was amazing, our room was spotless the whole time. Nacho at the pool totally looked after our towels and seating area, and I think could likely troubleshoot pretty much any issue you might have at the pool. We had a delightful couples massage at the spa with Carmen and Marella. The ultimate standouts at this resort for me are the entertainment staff. Alex and his team are so caring and genuine and fun and inclusive without being obnoxious. So thanks to Alex, Marco Polo, Gio, Pepe and to the amazing Mariana - siempre fit, siempre fun, all together, FIT AND FUN! See you guys in a few months!

    Dangerous and unsafe.

The pool needs urgent maintenance. I had a safety issue, an accident. I stepped on a sharp piece of broken pool mosaic. There are many loose mosaics everywhere. I cut my finger, bad, lots of blood. The medical attention was good. But for the price you pay, this is disappointing. It’s an unsafe place, won’t go back. Safety is the most important thing.

    Amazing Vacation

My husband and I had an amazing first anniversary trip here. Our room had a beautiful view and it was always kept clean. The resort wasn’t too busy and the restaurant service was great - plus, every food option was delicious! Definitely visit the bar at the beach for their taco bar… DELICIOUS fish tacos. Make sure you book your restaurant reservations so that you’re able to try them all! It’s really easy to navigate their app to change reservations, order room service, check the activities calendar and more. There was always something going on and the entertainment staff makes it fun to be involved in everything! We were able to do a round of golf which was extremely fun and a beautiful course. Excursions from the resort were also amazing and easy to set up. We don’t have kids, but their Star camp looked so fun, we wanted to join in! Definitely kid friendly. We had the best time and we hope to come back soon!

    Perfect Trip with Friends

We went with a group of 16. Two of our friends were members and upgraded all of us to the member package for the trip. We all had a fabulous time. Hugo & Angel gave us perfect service while in the member lounge area. Gio was beyond friendly and treated us so well! Always checking up on us and informing us of activities for the day. Truly is an exceptional employee! Jenny, Cande, & Mildred made sure all of us were happy the whole time as well and made sure we didn’t miss our reservations and things we needed for arrival/departure. I will be recommending this place to many friends because of all these wonderful employees. All spoke Spanish/ English well. Made us feel so comfortable. Only negative feedback is I did slip in my hotel room due to a wet floor on marble tile. My wrist was hurting so I went to the clinic onsite for a wrist brace. I knew it wasn’t broken just sprained. I was really given a shakedown in the clinic and they were not consistent with a price. They instantly wanted to charge me $120 just for walking in but didn’t tell me they considered it a consultation just for observing it. Then tried to charge me $70 to wrap a wrist when I needed a brace. They told me the brace was going to be $25 but when it came time to pay said it was actually $52. They were still trying to charge me $70 to wrap it until I pointed it out. I do not know if they are associated with the resort or contracted out but their rates should be provided before performing anything. They need to be monitored more and allow people to have the option of just buying a medical supply off of them.
