    Perfect Trip with Friends

We went with a group of 16. Two of our friends were members and upgraded all of us to the member package for the trip. We all had a fabulous time. Hugo & Angel gave us perfect service while in the member lounge area. Gio was beyond friendly and treated us so well! Always checking up on us and informing us of activities for the day. Truly is an exceptional employee! Jenny, Cande, & Mildred made sure all of us were happy the whole time as well and made sure we didn’t miss our reservations and things we needed for arrival/departure. I will be recommending this place to many friends because of all these wonderful employees. All spoke Spanish/ English well. Made us feel so comfortable. Only negative feedback is I did slip in my hotel room due to a wet floor on marble tile. My wrist was hurting so I went to the clinic onsite for a wrist brace. I knew it wasn’t broken just sprained. I was really given a shakedown in the clinic and they were not consistent with a price. They instantly wanted to charge me $120 just for walking in but didn’t tell me they considered it a consultation just for observing it. Then tried to charge me $70 to wrap a wrist when I needed a brace. They told me the brace was going to be $25 but when it came time to pay said it was actually $52. They were still trying to charge me $70 to wrap it until I pointed it out. I do not know if they are associated with the resort or contracted out but their rates should be provided before performing anything. They need to be monitored more and allow people to have the option of just buying a medical supply off of them.

    Meh, go somewhere else

Not for kids. The DJ music by the pool blasts so loud no sound machine covers it, and it plays until 10 pm regardless that there is an audience of 2 and complaints from dozens. There were cockroaches in our room last night. The food is questionable. It’s hard to get away from cigarette smoke. Our 2 yr old went down the slide in the children’s pool and came out with scrapes. It’s a beautiful part of the country, but wish we had stayed fewer nights at a nicer hotel.

    Most amazing place!

Where to begin. We went for a Bachelorette party and from the time we arrived till we packed up left it was amazing. The resort is absolutely beautiful and the staff go beyond any expectations. Mildred greeting us and made sure we had everything we needed and more. The massages from Mariela and Beatriz were out of this world. I have never felt so relaxed. Candy made sure we were enjoying ourselves above and beyond! Hugo, Emmanuel and Elvia are fabulous. They took care of our every need. I was sad to leave and can not wait to return some day.

Heard construction instead of beach waves

We stayed at this resort in 2019, and we loved everything about it back then, so we decided to come back in August 2021. The staff in the resort were friendly and accommodating as always, and the food was good. We also wanted to come back here because the beach was nice and safe for kids. Sadly, there were a lot of negative things that make me regret our most recent stay here. On our second day, someone drowned at the beach; we were surprised by the inexperience of the lifeguards and the in-house doctor that attended to the person who drowned. (It seems the guests were more concerned than the staff). And due to this incident, the lifeguards decided to close the beach for the rest of our stay. We were so dismayed by this, given the fact that we chose a Junior Suite that is closest to the beach so that if we decide to swim on the beach, it would be convenient for us. Well, we weren’t able to enjoy the beach as we hoped for. And because the beach is closed during our stay, the swimming pools were a little too crowded, not to mention that there are people smoking cigarettes despite the resort being a smoke-free property. The worst part during our stay though was that there was construction going on near our room; they were loud and continued during our stay. Again, we chose the Junior Suite to be secluded and enjoy the sound of the beach waves, but instead we heard drilling throughout the day. I wanted to give Iberostar Punta Mita a positive review, but with our most recent stay, we just cannot justify giving one.
