    AMAZING vacation

We are members of Iberostar and have been to four other Iberostar properties prior to Playa Mita-- and this is definitely a 5 star experience! Beginning from the moment we walked in the door, we felt like family!! Starting with Candy and Mildred at Prestige, we immediately felt the love! We saw whales and other native animals during our stay. The beach is beautiful and the locals are wonderful, too! Alan, Luis and Jesus took wonderful care of us on the rooftop and kept our drinks flowing! Veronica and the crew at the kids club took extra great care of all the kiddos and made sure to keep them all in line. Our son had a BLAST!!! The spa is always exceptional-- and Alma took GREAT care of me with a massage and facial. Yoga, aquatics and games were led by exceptional enthusiastic staff. They make you wanna come back again and again! Best of all, we were lucky enough to get to spend time with Charly and Jennifer, who gave us the grand tour of the facilities and beyond. Juanita kept our room spotless-- THANK YOU ALL!!!! What a FABULOUS trip. We will be back! The Dulak Family

Iberostar Review My Experiences: Pros and Cons

We spent a week from March 27 - April 3, 2021 and had a great many experiences along with some that needed improvement. Covid precautions were in effect however the sanitizing mats at the entrances of most public places and restaurants were usually not re-soaked with shoe sanitizer. Hand sanitizers were everywhere and it was nice to see most people using them. Pros: The Staff were INCREDIBLE! Starting with a smooth check-in where we were treated so well and driven to our room by golf cart. ANDRES and CHARLY were very accommodating and helpful all week. I cannot say enough good things about the excellent service from the wait staff: MAYRA, ARACELY, JOSE and XIOMARA were so kind and accommodating. It was sad to say goodbye to them. They always had a happy attitude and remembered our favorite drinks. The Cigar Bar was my favorite room at the resort. They had a good sized walk-in humidor with an excellent selection. XIOMARA, the Cigar Sommelier really knew her cigars and made recommendations. The Entertainment was amongst the best I’ve seem. Every night the shows made for great entertainment. The Vegas Show, the Circus, the Pop Show and Broadway musical shows were great. The singers were very good and made our nights at Adelita’s Lobby Bar a great way to end the evening. The Activities staff really got the crowd excited and their games and poolside sports were fun. Thank you MARCO and PEPE! Your enthusiasm rocks! You are the best! ISAAC was our go-to man for everything we needed. He set up our dinner times and spa massage appointments. He made sure all our needs were met. The Food at the various restaurants was somewhat typical of what most All inclusives offer. Nothing spectacular but just decent offerings. The Steakhouse was slightly disappointing in that our steaks were supposed to be medium well but were actually prepared rare and blood juices ran out when cutting into the meat. Not too appetizing. The Pacific Express was our best dinner meal. Tsabu Teppanyaki was more about the entertainment than the food itself which was quite salty. The buffet was our breakfast spot and we enjoyed the omelette bar and other good dishes. Cons: The resort has no jacuzzi unless you are a Star Prestige Member. This is the first resort I’ve encountered without a jacuzzi for us common folks. The “Vacation Club” presentation we attended was not something we ended up being interested in purchasing. When expressing our non interest in buying, we were then introduced to DANIEL SUAREZ who did his best to not hear our NO THANK YOU and made a few disrespectful comments such as “Then why are you here? and “Do u just not want to buy or is it that you can’t?” Those come off as rude and condescending when at first they tell you if you just say no at the end of the presentation, we won’t pressure you. This presentation is strictly optional but we suggest you run in the opposite direction and stay away from these “We are not a Timeshare but a Vacation Club” traps. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...you know the rest. Iberostar was an excellent value but its most impressive asset is its staff. They are truly wonderful.

    Nice family vacation spot

We visited with our two children (13 and 7). We stayed in the two bedroom family room. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The floors were damp but it seemed to get better The longer that we stayed and kept the fans going. It can’t be avoided because of the moist climate. We spent most of our time relaxing by the main pool so that our youngest could play in the children’s area. It felt very safe for him to go and play on his own. He also loved the ping-pong table area. Gio was very nice in the water sports area. We had a couple of nice conversations with him. Nacho that was handing out towels and ping pong paddles was also very polite and had a cheery disposition. And we appreciated that all of the staff wore masks. All of the restaurants were open during our stay and we found the food at the Buffet to actually be the best food that we eat while on vacation. T he little coffee shop was a favorite of our daughters. We loved the large deck/bar area overlooking the ocean. There we’re not very many people at the resort while we were there but I’m sure that the resort would love for there to be more customers. we rented a car and drove ourselves to the resort and to Sayulita one day. The COVID testing process was very easy at the resort. 20 minutes and done! We’ve stayed at other all inclusive and have been all over the Caribbean but this was better than expected for a spring break location. It was easy, clean, quiet, has good enough food-sometimes really good tacos by the beach, and has plenty of space to relax in the sun or shade. A morning walk on the beach is very quiet and a must see at sunset.

    First Time Visit

My wife and I are double black club members. We decided to go to Playa Mita to try a different resort and experience. We have been to Paraiso Grand, Maya and Lindo and Grand Bavaro. This resort is small but we found ourselves right at home. The resort does not get the “traffic” of the other resorts but has all the same qualities on a smaller scale. Here are some details of the trip: The airport at PV is small. Bit of a trial to get through the vendors and hawkers. The trip to the resort takes about 45 mins. Not bad but quite a few lights and speed bumps. We were welcomed and greeted by Jennifer of The Club who took us to Mildred at the Club Lounge. Quick and easy. Jennifer was presented to us as our concierge during the week, both in the email prior to our arrival as well as when we arrived. As such, she wanted to take us on the cart for a quick tour and allow us to have a quick bite before heading to the room. Ocean facing, third floor almost center. Great view of ocean. Not plush but very nice in general. The star prestige area is on the top of the ocean view rooms of the resort. You are up high with a beautiful view of the ocean. The benefit is that you can see whales and other wildlife. That was super special. There were very few members at the resort while we were there. We met all of them at one point and traded stories. Shout out to the club members we met from Colorado (not listing their names from privacy) for the great conversations. In the Star Prestige area were Alan and Luis at the bar. Super service and great attention. The food was very good. Solid breakfast buffet. Mexican and Steak were notable. We would love to see their desserts come up a notch; can’t say we found one we loved while we were there. There is a lunch taco place on the beach that has to die for tacos – OMG soooo good. Had them every day! Something not done at the resorts we have already been to is that Alan will bring you lunch from the taco bar, pool area or lunch buffet so that you do not need to leave the Club Area – certainly a nice touch. The entertainment was very good. The band playing at the top beach bar the first night was terrific and the “fire” show was actually exceptional. The band played other areas as well at the shows in the theater. Of note was, of all shows, disco night. Again, surprisingly very good. (Note that the Broadway show was not of our liking.) We walked the beach each morning which was great. Down to the left – turn around – and up right/north is about a 3.5 mile walk. The ocean was cold and we only got our feet wet once. The resort was pretty empty for the most part. The staff really want more folks to come especially Club members. They said even when they have club members at the resort, they often do not see them at the Star Prestige area, as they usually come with children and the families stay in the kids area. All to say, if you do not have kids and/or do not want to see them too much, this resort is the place for you. There were a few minor downsides: How does the Japanese restaurant run out of sake or not have a Japanese beer to drink? And the Mexican restaurant did not have guacamole? And the rock stone figures need better upkeep – they are really great but need to be touched up. Some staff we encountered that need to be noted: Mildred and Candy in the Club. Alan, Luis and Victor at the Star prestige, Mayra at the main bar. Jennifer of the Club/sales was really great and attentive. This resort will become the Maya of PV when Iberostar finishes building the Grand next door. They say ground will be broken in May and finished at the end of 2023 or into ’24. It’s a great location. Weather was perfect. Highly recommend adding this to your list of must see locations.
