Hello we stayed at this resort just for a 3 day weekend getaway and the front office staff was not nice when we checked in at like 9:30pm ish .we asked if we could set up are covid tests so we could fly back in a few days and was told that we would have to pay for them. We called before we booked and was told that they a free with your stay and we told them that we are just coming down for the weekend then once we are there they wanted us to pay $58.00 usd each because we are not there 3 nights. so after getting No were with the staff we asked where we could get some food was told to call room service so we went to the room and ordered room service that closes at 11pm and the room service never showed up we called a few times to see where are food is and then we got some food from the 24hr cafe not the room service we ordered over 2 hours later. the next day I went to tell the day shift what happed last night and was told you got food so what the big deal. We then went and paid for are Covid test and when we went to pick up the test. The only good thing they did was refund us the money we paid for the tests but they Wrecked My Wifes birthday trip with all the problems we had to start off with

    Yusra Alkayali

I'm writing this review to rave about Fernando Aguilar a supervisor at the Iberostar Playa Mita resort in Puerto vallarta. He went above and beyond the call of duty to help us get out of a scam, we fell for. He is such an asset to any company in the customer service business, if I could steal him to work for us in the states I would .his client service is outstanding .thank you Fernando from the bottom of our hearts.

    Finally back

Finally got vaccinated so I could travel back to my favorite place. This is the best resort I have experienced in my travels through the Caribbean and Mexico. In this Covid world they are keeping you safe, safety features everywhere. The food is wonderful and the drinks are top notch. The check in is fast and simple. They will give you an antigen Covid test on site at no charge. Now, the people are the best. My daily maid Ines was great, cleaned my room to perfection every day. The bartender Oswaldo was professional and fun to be around. Nacho at the towel hut is a true amigo to everyone he meets. Stop by and talk with him. The waitresses around the pool and at the beach cannot be appreciated enough. Elvia, Enedina and Fabiola, please tip them for their exceptional service. Please tip all your servers in the restaurant and bars. The entertainment crew, Alex, Gio, Pepe, Marco and the rest will make your stay memorable. The people here are why I keep coming back.

    Another great Iberostar vacation

We travel to PV every year with friends and family. This year our son who lives in a different state, wanted to bring his girlfriend to meet me and my wife. We chose to stay at the Iberostar in Punta de Mita because we have previously visited this resort (4th visit) and have had a great experience every time. Let me start out by saying their COVID protocols were strictly followed by their staff and precautions to prevent the spread of infection were in place throughout the resort. A free COVID test was given to us for our return to the States. The location is just north of Banderas Bay on the Pacific, about a 45 minute cab ride from the airport. It is surrounded by jungle, the ocean and a scenic and golf course. The resort itself is beautiful with plenty of things to do and the staff is welcoming and attentive, one of the main reasons we keep coming back. The rooms are nice, clean with comfortable beds. The ocean views are amazing, although we didn't spend much time in the room. We enjoyed all of the restaurants including the buffet. I would try all of them if time permits. The Lobby Bar was our hangout. They have a great band that plays a variety of music, whether you want to dance or just sit and listen. Mayra was our waitress in the bar, she was very friendly, she made it a point to remember our names and what we liked to drink. Hector and Jose were behind the bar, keeping us hydrated with Cielo Rojos, Mexican Martinis and a few shots of Don Julio. At the pool, the Entertainment team was great, led by Marco "Polo". He and Geo kept us up to date with the activities and always made sure we were comfortable at the pool. I also have to mention our waitress Elvira ,who we knew from our previous trips. She welcomed us back, and with the swim up bar closed due to COVID, she made sure we were always taken care of. I also want to give a "shout out" to Armando, the manager for the restaurants and bars. He is our former bartender who worked hard and made his his way into management. He accommodated any request we had, made last minute dinner reservations for us and made sure we received special attention from his staff. He helped make our visit, a first class experience. Things to do outside but near the resort. There are a few golf courses near by. Litibu Club de Golf is a challenging course with great views and is next to the resort. Las Huertas Golf Course (9 holes) is about 20 minutes away in San Pancho. I would also recommend visiting San Poncho and Sayulita, a couple little surfer/bohemian vibe towns, a short cab ride away. Great beaches, quaint restaurants and cool bars to hang out in after dinner. Great places day and night. My only negative is that the pool is showing some wear and tear but now I'm being "knit picky". It didn't keep us from having a great time at the pool. The resort is in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of PV. Its a great place to get away and relax. We have visited several other resorts in PV and this is one of our favorite.
