    Average stay, expected more unfortunately

We had a rather average stay at this hotel. The rooms were not up to par with the expectations in comparison with the photos displayed while booking this hotel. We ended up switching 2 out of 2 rooms, as 1 was not clean enough and the other had technical issues. In addition we asked for rooms close to each other and the first set of rooms was all over the place. The service in general was ok, but nothing outstanding. But, the location was very good, the views are really great, the hotel is close to many different attractions/activities (by car mostly) and that was good for exploring. All in all, a mixed experience.

    Nice hotel

The hotel is on Hilo Bay so you have great waterfront views, but there is no beach. On-site restaurant is good and there are eating places within walking distance. Rooms are nice and well equipped. The property is well maintained and the staff friendly and service oriented. My only complaint is the nightly "Resort Fee" that is added to everyone's bill. Yes, they give you drinks, free wifi, golf access, etc. but you do not have the option to decline those benefits. We would have been fine without those features. Also, upon arrival we were told valet @ $25/day was the only on-site parking option. Off site street parking was available, but I was reluctant to park a rental car there. I mentioned this situation to the front desk and it turned we were not being billed for valet parking.

    Worst Hotel

I would not recommend this hotel at all. If you need a good hotel on your vacation and if a hotel is a priority for you then please don't even think about booking this hotel. Their service is below 1 star. Also, if you book an ocean view or ocean front room with them, be aware that you check in early because if you're late, then they will give you the worst view room. And upon requesting, they'll say they don't have anything available. Worst customer service. Their lobby smells really bad. They just told me that we can waive your resort fees for one night. I mean, how can you ruin someone's vacation and offer them resort fees? Instead, learn to give proper service and assign proper room for what your customers paid. Please do not book this hotel as this is the worst hilton property ever. Looking at this, I might not be staying at any hilton.

Please do your self a favor and don't book this hotel.

Please do not stay at this hotel. I paid for ocean view room and I checked in at 8pm. They gave me room with a view of parking lot. I requested them that I booked ocean view room and they just said we don't have any room available as of today. When I booked for specific room how can you not reserve the room? Today is our first day of the trip and they basically ruined it. Also, for elevators, you'll have to wait for at least 10 minutes. Worst Hilton I have ever stayed.

    Great view, not much else

Insanely beautiful view from my room. Other than the view, amenities are meh, room is ok, pool is small and cold, towels are like sandpaper, food at the restaurant is ok. Nothing is great but it wasn’t horrible. No beach to swim in anywhere nearby so I would skip Hilo altogether unless you only want to see Volcano National Park.
