Advisory The Municipal Government of Benito Juarez will be charging all guests in the area of Cancun and Puerto Morelos an Environmental Sanitation Tax of a minimum $30.00 Mexican Pesos (approx. $1.60 USD) per room per night. *Student/Youth Travelers are defined as any guest 24 years of age and younger traveling without legal parent/guardian and is applicable at ALL resort properties on a year round basis. Any guests meeting the above definition of Student/Youth Traveler are subject to the following conditions:

- Upon check-in, passengers will be required to pay a one-time Student/Youth resort fee in the amount of $30.00 USD (Cash Only).  Policy is mandatory, per person and not refundable.
- Credit cards issued to persons other than guest (i.e. parent, spouse, etc.) are not accepted in Mexico.

- Minimum age requirement for hotel check-in is 18 years of age. All rooms require one person that is at least 18 when occupied by a 17 year old passenger. All students under the legal age of 18 require a notarized consent from parent/legal guardian providing authorization and taking responsibility for the guest. No passenger under the age of 17 years of age is allowed to occupy any room without a parent or legal guardian accompanying them.

- Any student group traveling with guests under the age of 18 will require chaperone(s).  One chaperone is required per 1-19 students/youths under the age of 18.  The minimum age requirement for a chaperone is 25. All students will be assigned a special bracelet for ID purposes; this policy is applicable year round.

    So I visited this place because family of mine was staying for an entire week, and so I work on the hotel industry, I’ve worked in 4 resorts already and I know how some thing should be done and apart from simple thing that are just not right, there’s other things that right now and due to the pandemic just can’t be possible!! Im going to write this in sections cause there’s just a lot to say. (To keep you in context I visited a Tuesday and then from the next week, Monday so my stay was actually 4 days but not in a row) FOOD AND RESTAURANTS: Ok to begin with the buffet which is the only place you can have breakfast at, There’s just so bad comunicación between the people who works there. There was not enough food for everyone, the tables were so close to each other that you can barely pass between them, there’s no social distancing even by the line outside or inside the restaurant, they leave some stuff still as a buffet (not everything but some drinks and fruits and bread etc) and they don’t even request people to wear a mask when they stand for their food so they can just cough at everyone’s food and no one would care. The glasses where they serve the milk and chocolate milk that are on the side where you can just grab them even seemed dirty. The chefs were struggling to get all of us enough food so they only serve you a little amount and ask you to come back later and when they run off the ingredients for the omelette a they do their best and offer you crannies eggs instead. The food everywhere was ok, not bad not good, just ok, I think the best place we had was the Mexican place and there was the only place where our waiter actually was nice to us. But still in every restaurant they don’t even ask for social distancing even by the line. For dinner the menus were actually poor, we expected a little more variety for example on the Italian restaurant but it was all the same with a different salsa And also we were trying to get a cake for the birthday boy but there was no cake anywhere, so the waiter from the steak house could find some and decorated it with melon which was so nice from him! (Rolando was his name) POOLS AND ENTERTAINMENT: So the pool was crowded all the time and that’s something I just can’t blame on the resort but the surroundings were always dirty and it’s in matter of a fact an issue they need to solve. Not lying there was chairs that had bird poop since my first day and then when I came back next week it was still there!!! The WORST part of it all and what has my mind blowing is that I literally saw how they don’t even wash the cups where that serve you drinks... GUYS THEY DONT WASH THE CUPS!!!! I went for a drink and I have my own cup I take with me everywhere and when I came to the bar to ask for some drinks for me and my family the guy just took the ones with drinks he had on the corner, just “washed” with some water and serve new drinks... no soap at all, not anything just two second of water!!! After that we had to go to the store to get cups for everyone cause honestly we didn’t want to expose ourselves like that. And honestly this not just for the Corona that’s jus anti-higienic at all!!! And the entertainment was actually so poor. Si they some activities but they don’t have them all everyday so if you want to play volleyball by the pool either you wait for the right day to play or get a ball yourself, and so I wanted to join the water aerobics but it was a little late so I was expecting to have at least the last 15 minutes for the activity but when I showed up it was already finished. And there’s no one inviting you to do things they just show up do it and then leave. ROOMS: I don’t know if this is just something that happened as a coincidence or not but we realized there was no electricity by noon so we bad to go outside to find a place to charge our phones. Also the room is just so small, we did get the two bed room and there was literally no space for the beds so they had to put them both together. The bathroom was so small that is either the door open or yourself inside of it, and there was this glass instead of a wall by the wc and next to the beds that maybe for a honeymoon wouldn’t be bad but on a family trip it’s just a little awkward Also our room had this humidity smell that we couldn’t stand for and had to spray perfume all the time. And the balcony was just a shame. NIGHT CLUB: I think due to the pandemic there’s only one out of two night clubs open and I think usually this place has extra charge, but rn it doesn’t, the bad thing is that the place closes at 12:00 so the just literally turn on lights and the security guys run you off, not a thanks for coming, not an apology, just leave now cause it’s time. And also something that I really could notice is that ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY!! Here’s a list of the things i remember they charge you extra, so don’t believe the website casi this is NOT AN ALL INCLUSIVE: •to use the save they charge you an amount per night •to use the internet they charge you per gadget per night •to access to the beach they charge you a tax which actually the resort has to pay and should be included to you stay •if want to order room service they charge you like 10 usd per service (I mean every time they take something to your room) •if you lose your key they charge you like another 10 usd SERVICE: There was literally just 3 people that was nice to us and made our stay a little less bad, because honestly everyone around was so rude and didn’t even say good morning or anything. I don’t know if it just something the resort doesn’t promoves with their workers or just everyone hates their job but the three ones were our server by the Mexican restaurant who I can’t remember his name, rolando from the steak house and Rudy from the Italian lunch place. After all I can only say that this place is one the worst places I’ve ever visited and because I know how thing should be done I’m very disappointed. I think the price is just excessive for what it actually is. MY ADVICE: In my opinion you could go to better places with even a better price cause this place is not worth it at all! We’re never coming back

    Bad experience

    The Grand Oasis Cancun = the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel, it ruined my first experience in Cancun. PLEASE BEWARE. My friends and it went to have a drink at one of the bars. The drinks were watered down and of insanely poor quality – I asked one of the workers if they had anything outside of the well drinks available, his response was that only “el Patron” or “el hefe” had access to the good alcohol, that the guests were only allowed to have the cheap stuff. Later at dinner, I had to send my food back because it wasn’t edible, and the wine tasted like it was made in someone’s barn. Topping off the experience was the smell of the rooms – and not just the rooms, but the beds. Laying down on the bed after a long trying day was welcomed until I smelled what I was laying on. The sheets had been cleaned, but the mattresses had not been properly taken care of – they smelled molded with uncleaned sweat to the point that I couldn’t sleep on them. The next morning, I checked out of the hotel completely disgusted and angry with the service that I experienced. Please BEWARE – because regardless of the photos and other reviews from this hotel – it is not a good idea to stay here.

    I most definitely going back the service was amazing, the experience outstanding and especially someone special that I met during my time there “ Roberto “ he was amazing, kind, loving, just so grateful for meeting him. I’ll see you next year !

    I just want to write this review to let you guys know, the awesome bartender you guys have. The thing i loved the most was how clean he kept the bar at all times. Definitely coming back just because of Roberto. Amazing service.
