    Lacking in many areas

I was a travel specialist and have been in the business for 16 years. I am a specialist at many of the hotel brands. I was very hesitant about staying at this hotel because of all the bad reviews but wanted to try it because its a “Hilton” brand. The good: The Falls pool area was awesome and thats the only reason I gave this 3 stars. The hot tubs were clean and hot enough. The few pools in that area were really nice and clean. The pool chairs were decent and there were plenty. We did save chairs at 8:00 am when the pool opened because it gets crowded and people stand in line. The resort is tucked into the hills so that was very cool. It did have a historical feel to it. It could be a VERY great hotel. The waiters at the pool were good and walked around frequently getting our drinks. The bathroom in the rooms were very clean. Each time we needed towels they sent someone up right away. The grounds were very pretty and lots of hills- be ready for a lot of walking. The bad: We booked 2 rooms and were told our 2nd room was a door away from 1st room. That was a lie because it was in another building! The rooms were clean for the most part but there was a stain on the top sheet of the bed so we had them change it right away. Our room smelled very musty. Rooms are dark and dingy. Couches had stains on them. Towels were so rough it hurts your skin. People brought their own speakers to the pool and blasted their music, some of it was inappropriate for my 10 year old. Why is this allowed? There was no supervision by the hot tubs. Kids were playing football in the hot tub when adults were trying to relax. The waterslide opened for a half hour at a time then closed again on and off all day. No precautions were being taken for Covid. I didn’t see any staff members wiping anything down throughout the day. The tables and chairs at the pool were dirty. People would order food and leave it sitting there and no one would throw it away so birds everywhere. The pool deck needed to be hosed down each morning because it was dirty and gross. I should have seen more cleaning going on all over the resort and didn’t see one person cleaning anything. We asked the front desk person whats the easiest way to get to airport for early flight and they said Ubers are available all the time. I said even at 4:00 in the morning? He said yes. We could not get an Uber at 4:00 in the morning and almost missed our flight. Don’t believe what the front desk tells you. Also, be cautious of bachelor parties and groups of teenagers being loud and obnoxious. Was kept awake a few nights. This could be a very nice hotel but it seems like they just don’t have dedicated staff members and are understaffed. They need to be on top of things and they just aren’t. Maybe thats why this hotel was cheaper than a lot of the others. You get what you pay for.

    Beautiful resort, but...

This was a beautiful resort, but the common areas--the pools, were dirty and people left all their trash behind them when they left. It was not the fault of the hotel staff, rather, the clientele was a bit trashy. We did not swim in the pool, as it looked gross.

    Horrible

They do not recognize Hilton honors. Even was told that by a female manager that Hilton honors really does not mean anything. Check in was horrible you have to fight with the staff to use any perk of Hilton honors membership. Front desk lied to me about upgrading my room

    Needs some TLC

We stayed here 2 nights early April 2021 (wife, 12 year old and I) and I should’ve taken the reviews I read befor booking more to heart. The good: We RF Ives early and after ageeeing to a different room we were allowed to check in early. Thanks for this! On arrival to our room it really wasn’t as bad as some reviews made them out to be. If I’m judging only the room I’d say 3 3/4 stars. Bed was comfy, room (double queen suite above family pool and restaurant patio in main building) was spacious and bath was split (separate sink/shower areas) making getting ready easier. Sink area was updated, shower area was small and meh. The large sitting area was nice to spread out in. The average: Grab and Go breakfast was easy to get and tasty but I thought it was included in our stay (found out it wasn’t nearly $40 later). Other complimented the pizza. The bad: There is nothing here that says resort to me other than it being large. The “resort fee” shouldn’t apply. Buildings and 2 pools we used (Family and Presidential) are in desperate need of power washing, painting, repair. Everything feels really old when by the pool (furniture, towels, etc). I found blood on one of my pillowcases and stains on 4 others. The resort did offer a credit which was appreciated but my wife and I were already grossed out. I can’t comment on the Falls area as it was so packed we never got to use it. This was the main reason we booked here. Pool cleanup was late, photo was feom 8:45am with yesterday’s towels still in a wet pile. Give the choice, I’d go to a Hyatt Place/House for $75/night less over coming back here. I would not recommend this place to my friends nor would I return. Sorry...I’m an Honors member but I will cross this location off the list. It is not what I expect from a Hilton property.

    Spring Break 2021

Overall I’d say this is a solid 4 star resort! It’s very hilly and beautiful, be sure to upgrade if you don’t want to or are unable to walk up and down hills. There weren’t many food options besides a counter order place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The nice restaurant “different pointe of view” was booked for 3 weeks. This was spring break so it was a busy time of year. People lined up at 8am waiting to get into the pool to save chairs. The pool staff worked hard and the drinks and food was good! I’d like to see the pool area get a better overall clean at the end of the day. We’d show up first thing in the morning and it was clear nothing was wiped down. Also we noticed some pool towels had stains and dirt on them. More thing for the kids to do would be nice. Maybe due to COVID but paying resort fees and prices there should be more things to do. Overall we had a nice stay! The grounds are beautiful with wonderful hiking trails very close by!
