My wife and I had a great time! Great food, drinks, staff, rooms, views, and activities. Though part of the resort was closed they still made you feel as though everything was open and were very helpful! Miguel was a phenomenal activities director as well as Daniel! Both very friendly and sociable! Wilberth, Ricardo, and Andres were the best bartenders! But all were very good! Very quick and very good drinks! Very happy with trip! And planning on going back when it’s all open!
My partner and I visited Breathless on July 30th and stayed until August 4th. The check in process was quick and easy. When we arrived at the resort the staff took our luggage and sanitized it, brought us downstairs to check-in and had glasses of champagne waiting for us. We got situated and even took shots with the bartender while we were finishing up the process. After check in we went to our room. The room looks exactly like the pictures, it was very clean and nice. Our jacuzzi was a little small and didn't work but it wasn't a big deal. The resort has two pools, a quiet side and a party side. The main party pool was closed due to Covid. The quiet side was always relaxing and peaceful never too full. The party side had a nice vibe. Good music and modern hits. Wasn't too much of a crazy party but had people mingling in the swim-up bar and laying out by the pool. Everyday we laid out in the Cabana's, we had a WONDE RFUL experience with our server Jose! We had a spot to lay out in everyday of our trip, and he was very on point with our service. Always remembered the specifics of our drink order, very punctual, so kind, and had just an overall spirit. My partner and I looked forward to getting down there everyday to see him during our stay! Jose's English was very good and even found the time to work with me on my Spanish. Although everything is inclusive the staff here works very hard to make sure your stay is impeccable, please go the mile and give them a tip for their hard work! Last thing the pool had food you could walk up to get as well. The burgers were great! The restaurants that were open on the resort were pretty good. Get there early, if you get there late there will be little bit of a wait for a table... but nothing too crazy. The Japanese restaurant also had hibachi but was something you'd have to make a reservation for. Overall we enjoyed our stay, we will be back to visit Breathless in September!
Best Resort Experience
The absolute best resort vacation!! From check-in until departure the staff at Breathless was phenomenal. I can’t remember the names of each person that served me but there were quite a few that stood out. Adrianna was professional, informative and lots of fun to speak with. Jarrett(vip) and Juan(relax spa)were helpful in trying to locate a specific bottle of vodka for me.Fernando(club xhale) was such a delight! He crafted the perfect drink for me..vodka and beet juice with a splash of pineapple.. don’t judge me lol it’s delicious. Ask for it by name..mar-Kee-sa. Ester provided service with a smile every day. Urban and Cruz kept drinks flowing at Xhale Pool. And last but certainly not least, my favorite two people at breathless,Daniel and Miguel! You will not be disappointed with Daniel’s Zumba class and Miguel’s water aerobics. If anyone can motivate you to exercise on vacation after limitless cocktails it will be these two! Both have amazing personalities and are full of energy! Kudos to Breathless staff for exceptional service! I will definitely visit again!
Fantastic trip!! Amazing staff!!!
This was our second time at Breathless Cancun. Due to Covid restrictions, it is different, but we had the best time, and always felt safe. To me, the best part of this resort, is without hesitation, the staff. They make you feel like the most important person there. We were celebrating a 30th birthday with a girls’ trip, that unfortunately had to be postponed back in March. The staff went out of their way to make the birthday girl, and the rest of our group feel like we were celebrating on her actual birthday, including getting everyone at the party pool (guests and staff) to sing happy birthday. Miguel, is the best!! He is so sweet, personable, and the life of the party. The hotel is very lucky to have him, and he deserves a HUGE raise for making everyone feel so special, going out of his way to connect with everyone, and making sure all of the guests have everything they want and need, and are having the best time. Willberth, the bartender at the party pool was fantastic!! His drinks were great, he was so funny, and energetic. He has a huge infectious smile, and you can often hear his name being chanted by all of the guests around his pool! The two of them really went out of their way to make us feel like friends. Other amazing team members that made traveling during a time like this so memorable are Daniel, Xavi, Esther, and Fernando. Obviously, things are different right now, which we expected. They were operating around 30%. I was told they are down to around 300 staff members, from the previous 800. The fact that we still felt doted on was a testament to the incredible hard working staff. Unfortunately, not all of the restaurants can be open, and the true party pool, and huge hot tub are closed, but they brought a lot of the energy into the middle pool they are currently using as the party pool. Covid precautions- This resort is truly putting forth more effort into being safe, and making sure their guests feel safe than anything I’ve seen in the states. When you get there, they take your luggage to be sanitized. The check in has plexiglass partitions. Every staff member is wearing a mask and/or a face shield. When you get into your room, all of your toiletries (by the way, they have added additional items to their toiletries. We have stayed at this Breathless, the Breathless in the DR, and a couple of Secrets, and this was the most I have seen), the tablet in the room, any extra bedding, and other items I can’t think of are all in sealed packaging. The room feels very clean, and the minibar has a seal over it, showing it has also been sanitized. Our safe malfunctioned, and needed to be replaced. The gentleman asked me to try the new one, but only after he thoroughly cleaned the inside, and outside. There were also sanitizer stations everywhere throughout the resort, and they asked that you use them before entering every restaurant. Two bummers compared to other visits- One, when we arrived, we were told “Welcome Home.” I know this is petty, but when we came the first time, and when we went to Breathless in the Dominican Republic, we were told “Welcome to the Party!” It distinguished the resorts, and helped set your expectations. We were told this change came from the CEO, but we thought it was a miss. “Welcome Home” felt like Secrets, much calmer, couples oriented, and more mature than we wanted for this trip. Secondly, Bites, the tapas restaurant was our favorite on our first trip. Unfortunately, they have changed it up, and now it has a variety of ceviches. I’m not sure if this is temporary, or if they changed it permanently, but it was a miss for those of us that had been in the past. Obviously, if those are my complaints, the resort is doing great, and it was an excellent trip. We can’t wait to go back!!
Good resort - Handled Coronavirus Well
Chose Breathless as the resort for a friends trip. We wanted a place that wasn't full of couples and also wasn't full of 18-21 year olds. Breathless was perfect for this. Check-in: We had issues during check in as they said they didn't have our room types available. We had confirmation for a room with 2 beds and they said they could only give us a king bed. That room had two adult males that just wanted any room with two beds. After sitting and explaining that we weren't willing to take a King bed as we had a confirmation for a room with 2 doubles, they ended up giving us a room with 2 doubles. Upon arrival, one of our rooms did not have a stocked mini bar or snacks. That same room did not have soap/shampoo/lotion etc. Had to call front desk to get soap delivered to the room as well as the minibar stocked. Coronavirus Protocols: We were very pleased with the way the resort handled Coronavirus and safety. We frequently saw staff sanitizing surfaces. All staff had face masks. We thought they took everything seriously and were impressed. Because they are only able to be 30% full, there was plenty of space to spread out safely. Food: Overall, the food was good. We never found anything to be bad and never found anything to be great. Everything was consistently good. Service: The area where this resort shines is their staff. There are many to mention, but to highlight a few... Esther in the Asian restaurant, Jose at the Beach Bar, Leti as beach waitress, and Wilberth at the pool bar... All 4 gave excellent service. Staff is incredibly friendly and there to make sure you are having a good time.
