    Crowded pools @41% occupancy

We always stay here, it’s our go to Universal resort. Always a fun atmosphere and we love the food and the employees are always amazing! Our tv kept glitching so we called down and Raymond (who was great!) with engineering came right up. Went to the pools to give it some time. Pools were packed, which we found odd since the resort was only 41% occupancy. Since the park closes so early maybe that’s why the pools are so packed? Because there is nowhere else to go. Both pools open on weekend. Did not like a line to get into lazy river, and always a line at the bar by the pool- get another bartender over there please. No live music in the lobby and lobby bar closed too. So TVs never stopped the glitching and we decided to upgrade to Royal Pacific- which ended up being not the greatest because their food was not to our liking at all. But the manager was understanding and helped us get in touch with Royal to accommodate us. Figured we would pack up to switch rooms anyway, why not check out a different resort that would feel less crowded. Will return to Cabana Bay again in the future, remains our go to! Love the atmosphere and staff and walking distance to VB.

    Covid vacation

With the increasing Covid numbers in Florida I was a little nervous about taking the family. Once we arrived I could tell the company was serious about their safety approach. There was staff at the entrances taking temps. Everyone was wearing masks and hand sanitizer was visible and used. I felt safe. The rooms were clean. We had a great vacation

    FELT SAFE

Due to cabin fever from quarantine, friends suggested a weekend and this resort. We are not too sure, but we needed an escape and did not feel safe renting an Air BnB. I have to say that the staff were constantly cleaning and disinfecting things. They check our temperature every day, they had free masks and hand sanitizer at every entrance. Chairs, table, were disinfected between clients. There was not room service or housekeeping, in order to ensure social distancing. We called for fresh towels and they were delivered when we were out of the foom. This was very reassuring and if all hotels do this, I would not hesitate to book a stay.

    Will not come back

If you have a trip planned to Cabana Bay during the pandemic - postpone or cancel. This place is overrated and not prepared for the limited crowd that is here. Some areas aren’t clean, pools aren’t open. (One pool is supposedly open but due to “storms” they didn’t know when they would allow guests in (no sign of rain on radar)). You can tell there is limited staff here - very little open. Very disappointed in this place - you should at least get a Covid-19 discount for this type of service and lack of amenities.
