Relax at the Grand Spa, Grand Pool Complex, and Wet Republic, or indulge in gourmet cuisine at Craftsteak, Pub 1842, or Joël Robuchon. Great effort by the hotel staff
Given the COVID situation and the governor’s directives, the staff at MGM is working hard to make the best of a difficult situation. Not all the restaurants are open and many of the shops are still closed. There are limited menu choices, too. But the staff is really trying hard. It is mostly the guests that are less than nice. On July 4 weekend, there was a 2.5 hour wait to get into the pool area! Have been here every week for the last 3 weeks and staff is unfailingly nice. The maintenance guy, Jonah, was super at fixing a few problems with my room. Most of the guests are pretty good but a few seem to have a bad attitude. Hate to say it, but most of the ones with a chip on there shoulder seem to come from a state west of here. The hotel even has a nice COVID pack in every room with had sanitizer, cloth masks, and the metal tool so you don’t have to touch buttons. Security has a tough job trying to control belligerent guests - of which there seem to be quite a few.
Don't go here with mask enforcement!!
First I would like to say I love MGM. I have been here many times for many events. I was very unhappy with how rude they enforced the mask policy here. I was told like a kid every single time I was smoking or drinking while gambling and spending money i had to put my mask back on. They were understaffed, alot still closed, a wait for the pool that I was assured I would be allowed entry as a guest to get in and into the lazy river pool. Once you got in the lazy river pool there is no smoking while outside and told to leave to a designated smoking area outside the pool area and would NOT BE LET BACK IN! I spent $900 on my executive suite there and was very upset at how the property was running. I highly recommend to NOT GO HERE UNTIL THE MANDATORY MASK RULE IS OVER. I WILL NOT RETURN UNTIL IT IS LIFTED. SORRY MGM GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER!!
Las Vegas is not really open yet
arrived on 7/1 for 4 nights. The tower we booked was not open, had to change to a two queen room. Room was nice and comfortable. Restaurants and bars were not open, had lunch at the food court. The pool was partially open, but lazy river didn't open until Friday. Pool area capped at 50%, if you are late you had to wait hours to get in. Service at the pool area was terrible. If you go out, you aren't getting back in. Most Restaurants were not open, so back to food court for breakfast, no sit down Restaurants open for breakfast. Evening in the pool was sketchy, gang members at the pools kept signaling rival gangs. Had to dine for dinners further down the strip. Despite the limited openings, the resort fee was not reduced. Will not be back anytime soon. Very disappointed
Worst customer service ever
We are leaving Las Vegas. The trip from hell! We arrived Thursday night at the MGM went to bed and got up early so we could spend the day in the pool. We knew due to COVID this was not going to be our best trip given all the safety protocols they have in place, but what happened was NOT a million times ever in my mind. We had a few frozen drinks in the pool $35 each by the way, and met a really nice family just there having a good time. We found out one of the men was the best friend of one of my husbands co workers. So here we are a few drinks and fun in the sun chatting it up with this awesome family. Then 3 twenty something boys that happen to be white and this does matter sad to say arrive in the pool. Out of nowhere cold clocked my husband in the face. Security is on it fast as he’s gushing blood all over the pool now and the family we were chatting with helped my husband and got his jaw broken by them. MGM did nothing except give us some band aids and escorted us to their ride share area and gave us a card with the security managers name. Come to find out the white guys that punched my husband because the family we were hanging out with in the pool were Mexican and felt my husband was a “race trader” they are now in jail, but this world is all sorts of fe’d up. Our vacation ruined all over what? Some very ignorant people. I feel MGM was just as accountable here because they just wanted us to leave because my husband head is bleeding and their other guests didn’t need to see this but also told us there is nothing they can do for us as they cannot control their guests. I was refilling our drink spent $250 at the bar that day and lost $55 for the 2 drinks I had just refilled when this happened. We spent the rest of our trip at Trump and lost our car key at MGM pool and no one turned it in that was $345 dollars and another 2 hours cut into our trip. ZERO stars to this hotel for the way they handled this. We actually had a much better time at Trump.
July 4 weekend stay reconsider visiting during covid
Most of the restaurants are closed even though the resort is at maybe 40% capacity. The grand buffet is closed and one restaurant open for breakfast. Wait lists are long they may seat 75 people with a couple thousand staying at resort. Went to go to pool couldn’t get in wait list several hours. Dropped thousands of dollars on an experience which we could have got same experience at our local state casino and spent a more enjoyable time at home at night for a lot less.
