Great experience
I think this is a great place to spend time with family. The beach is beautiful, the service is very good. The staff was attentive and accomodating. I like the flexibility for the kids to be entertained and fed as they like. The food at the specialty restaurants is pretty good.

Good AI option
I read a lot of reviews before booking and had previously stayed at 5 all-inclusive resorts. My recommendation is skip the wedding reviews if you are not attending a wedding and set your expectations for an all-inclusive stay: 1. everything will not be perfect 2. the food is average and buffets are like dorm food except both kids and adults have horrible hygiene and manners (dropping tongs on the floor and putting them back, touching face and grabbing food, touching food and putting it back) 3. A resort owned by Hyatt should not mean your expectations are higher 4. Every room on the beach that I have been to in Mexico smells like a musty beach locker room and this hotel is no different (tip, take a hanging moisture absorber). 5. Our partial ocean view room had a very, very limited view of the ocean. We stayed in building 7 which faced the ocean. 6. My feeling is that many people at all inclusives feel intitled as they have 'paid for' for everything which means many believe they deserve and sometimes demand whatever they want, can leave their food and towels wherever they want and that their kids can run freely throughout the resort The Good - The beach and the pools were great and so was the service at both. People did not excessively reserve chairs early in the very early AM except some highly desired (by some) pool spots. We were able to go out at 9am and get first row on the beach. - If you line up at the restaurants at 6pm when they open, you should be able to get right in. The restaurant food was good and each had a kids menu and servers offered larger portions for my teen and pre-teen kids. The dinner restaurants were a better option than the buffet and I felt the food was much better than other reports I have stayed at. - Staff was generally friendly and the resort was clean. I tipped daily and our room was cleaned and restocked each day. Our room had a red/green light to indicate if we were in the room and wanted to skip cleaning/ restocking or if you were sleeping/ did not want to be disturbed. - my kids loved the water slides and lazy river. Lazy river had a sign that it was for preferred guests only, however we were told that we could use it when we checked in. - ice cream shop was great and had lots of snacks, sandwiches that got us through when we had a wait one night for dinner or wanted a late-afternoon snack. Same for Tides, good and fast lunch option, great service and afternoon snacks. We got take away boxes from Tides several times to eat in the room or elsewhere. - We only needed it one night but it was a nice touch to have bug spray in the hotel rooms and also available at each restaurant host stand and bar. - Bottled water and Coke products were easily available and top shelf and name brand alcohol was available (if you didn't ask you got non-name brand alcohol). - Lobby bar and lobby are beautiful and a good place to hang out at night. No AC/ all outdoor so I imagine it is very hot in the summer but was not an issue for us in November. - the App was helpful and the only source of truth on opening, closing, activity times at this hotel (although there was no menu posted for the Brazilian restaurant). The Bad - the music at the main two pools is SO unbelievably loud that you can hear it across the entire resort. When they were setting up in the main area one afternoon (US Thanksgiving holiday party) for an outdoor buffet the music was 10x louder. I asked for it to be turned down and was told by the DJ that he had to test the music (for 3 hours???) second ask and a manager had it turned down. The lazy river pool chairs are the only quiet and zen spot at this entire resort and a good place to read or rest. You can hear the loud music even at the beach and all through the entire resort. Music at evening weddings was also super loud but was turned off at 10pm. - outdoor buffet dinner was horrible. We arrived late evening and were starving and everywhere was a two hour wait for dinner. We had to beg for takeout boxes and really beg for utensils. Food was cold, little choice, replacement food was nonexistent or example, red pasta was replaced with under cooked plain pasta (no sauce). We skipped the US Thanksgiving buffet dinner later in our stay due to the experience our first night. - sales pitch for time shares - I declined and every time I went to the front desk to ask a basic question I was asked for my room number and re-pitched. When I complained about the first night outdoor buffet, I was told if I came to the sales pitch, I could be guaranteed a front row table for the next outdoor buffet that would cost $500 to reserve (what???....I again declined). - maintenance - lacking all over the resort. Missing tiles, sloppy painting, little issues that should be fixed like doors that don't close, rusty speaker covers, but go unnoticed. - you will get a different answer to every question you ask, depending on who you ask. The resort needs to better train staff and update signage (ex restaurants have signs outside with dress codes, including no tank style tops, which we were told were old). We could never get a straight answer on booking hibachi via the app and I assume these spots were given to those who did the time share presentation. - Lazy river needs more innertubes. I think they only had 5. It was VERY nice that it wasn't crowded, but a few more innertubes would be nice.

Spa
Our experience was great, friendly stuff, food and restaurants were great as well. We did a couples massage for my wife’s birthday and Liz and Sandy were amazing. The only thing we regretted was doing only 50 mins. Highly recommended for the whole family

Family friendly
Overall, great experience. We were there with our two kids, 3 and 1, and their grand parents. The hotel had just the right mix of kids amenities and adult activities. The buffet had a good variety of food that the kids enjoyed and had plenty of great options for the adults.

Terrible Experience -Do Not Recommend
Terrible Experience - Do Not Recommend We recently stayed at Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, and it was hands-down one of the most frustrating vacation experiences we’ve ever had. While the food was just okay at best, the buffet was shockingly small and subpar for a resort of this caliber. The real nightmare, however, began when trying to eat at the themed restaurants. First, there’s no reservation system. You either stand in line for hours or they give you a beeper—a standard restaurant locator device. However, even with this system, the minimum wait time to get a table is an hour and a half, and most restaurants still have plenty of empty tables. Why? Because they only staff 2-3 servers per restaurant, leading to incredibly slow service. To be fair, the hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and well-designed. However, our room smelled like a really old, humid attic, which was unpleasant from the moment we arrived. To make matters worse, on our first night, we had to call maintenance because one of the sinks was clogged and the AC wasn’t cooling properly. Definitely not the kind of experience you expect from a resort claiming to be luxurious. During check-in, we were offered a chance to attend a Hyatt presentation in exchange for a $300-$400 credit in Hotel cash. We decided to give it a try, only to discover that the presentation was not the 90 minutes they promised—it turned into a 3-hour ordeal filled with mid-pressure sales tactics. It felt like a bait-and-switch and completely soured the experience. Save your money and go elsewhere—this place is not worth the hassle.
