I recommend…mostly
Decent resort. Room was good. Service was always good. Food was good for the most part. Shows were good. My complaints: timeshare thing is way annoying. Been to two other secrets and never had that.. they make things more expensive to get you to want to sit thru it.. they gave $400 to spa or $200 in resort cash. They tell you it’s going to take 90 min and they give you breakfast but it ends up taking a quarter of your day.. I was not going to do that after paying $1800 pp.. as a result we never went to the spa like we wanted. I also paid extra for preferred and really the only perk is free room service. You can only get top shelf in the preferred lounge. All other bars you get regular. They have “preferred only” sections but they don’t have any way to see who is actually preferred.. resulting in a bunch of non-preferred people in there. This includes people from dreams and sunscape. Secrets is adult only and multiple times I saw older kids in there. My advice if you go there: keep pool towels-they are hard to obtain. If you want a chair on the beach, go early. Preferred club isn’t worth it. Don’t do the timeshare thing- your time is more valuable. Lunch buffet has like nothing. Ask for double shot drinks. Overall those are things I can get over.. they are just kind of annoying.. our time was really nice and our room was nice. Everyone that worked there was great. I think we got for what we paid for. 🤷♀️

fun in the sun
The buildings and pools could use some polish and updating and the local entertainment was average. They could really use a main stage area, but the staff and food were both great. Spa massages and hydrotherapy were exceptional. Buffets were good.

Don’t waste your money
I would not recommend this place to anybody. The hotel is very dated and does not come with the expectations that she would expect from a secret property. Beach chairs, and pool chairs were next impossible to find and or get. The only thing positive about the entire vacation Was the staff who was very hospitable, friendly, and wanting to make your vacation a great experience.

Good price point for great service & food; needs updating & better monitoring of beach chairs.
We’ve been to this resort almost a dozen times - we started going there before it was a Secrets - and yes, most buildings need some serious rehab & upgrading, but the food last week was fabulous and drinks were excellent (especially from preferred club & lobby bar)! This resort gives you friendly service, a beautiful beach, comfortable rooms of various levels and fabulous snorkeling in shallow water right at your feet. Biggest problem is lack of beach chairs with palapas on preferred beach area - serious shortage - but overall, the price point of this resort is incredible for what you get.

Hotel was good, staff were great!
We had a great week - the staff are what made it soo great. The hostess, Kenia would even greet us by name every meal. they were so friendly and helpful. the entertainment staff were so much fun- even coming up with name that tune game on a rainy day.
