No Hot water to shower- all week!
We had no hot water! Yep, cold showers. What luxury is that?! It all needs an upgrade. The grounds had weeds growing throughout, tall grass not mowed, the outside of the building needed a paint job, not enough food/restaurants to choose from, no nighttime entertainment, food bland, had to ask for washcloths/hand towels, Preferred bar in your room was just beer, cokes and 1 choice of liquor. Room service won't allow you to have a bottle of wine brought up without charging you $35. I thought it was all inclusive? I have been to 3 other resorts, this experience was Very disappointing.

Good diving and adequate resort
First the good aspects. The room was large and comfortable. The balcony and ocean view were very good. The staff went from very good to excellent. Kudos to the Market Cafe, especially Marcel, Niguel James, Eugenia, Elizabeth, Ricardo, Roberto, Mario, and Gaspar. The food was good but limited menu and was boring at the end of 7 days. The salmon and mahi mahi were great! This place is great for SCUBA as there is a pier at the resort. The pools were clean and clear. Dive House was very good on the trips. There are many dive sites and the boat crew would ask the divers where they have been and where they wanted to go and then decided on the dive site by consensus. Now the needs improvement areas. The hot water would get warm after 5 minutes, but not hot! The resort needs a full redo. The sliding glass door was almost impossible to open until maintenance lubricated the rollers. Missing tile and tile showing mold was outside almost everywhere. Our last night there, they had about 2” of rain. The result was puddles in the corridor and water coming into the room about 6-8 feet. We used towels to keep the water only 3-4 feet into the room. The air conditioning was effective, but was very loud and the condensate line was dripping in the middle of the bathroom. If all you want is SCUBA at an average place, then Secrets would be a good choice (the diving was great). Otherwise the resort is rather small. Having access to the two resorts (Dreams and Sunscape) made the stay more enjoyable.

We enjoyed it!
My husband and I visited secrets aura on a timeshare travel package so it’s important to note that we did not pay what other guests may have paid and so we may be a little more lenient. Also I am a fairly relaxed traveller in general. This was our first time in Mexico and only our second all-inclusive so our prior experience relating to all-inclusives specifically is minimal as well. But we honestly had a really great time and thought the resort was beautiful. Yes there are a few minor inconveniences but for us the pros outweighed the cons by a lot. We got a complimentary upgrade to the “preferred” beach front room which was stunning. Room was big, the bathroom was lovely, we had hot water everyday, the housekeeping came daily and the mini fridge was stocked daily. We had our own little patio with our own beach lounge chairs which we loved. The preferred beach section is great IF you could get a chair which was hard even at 9am as most people get a towel and plunk it on a chair for the entire day even if they aren’t there - very annoying. But the service at this part of the beach was great and you could order food and drinks right from your chair. The preferred pool honestly was nothing to write home about - we only hung out there for maybe an hour. I think getting the upgrade to preferred really made the trip so if it’s possible to get this then I would just to have access to all areas of the hotel. Some cons were just minimal. Like there were never any towels when I needed one but again that was more inconsiderate people vs the hotel not supplying the towels. There are a lot of sales people trying to push either their tours, the timeshares, their products etc. it was annoying but it seems to be common. The food was really good pretty much each time we ate and the service was good.

Beautiful beach snorkeling and that's it!
There is no way this is a 5 rated resort. It used to be, but that ship has sailed. Visited here before COVID and is a completely different place. The check-in experience is painfully slow. Rooms are not ready, then suddenly everyone who is waiting is suddenly available. Very disappointing for a 5 star resort. After getting to our room the wear and tear and run down conditions were very obvious. Power recepticles were falling out of the wall. Sold surfaces in the bathroom are stained and worn. The shower pressure was horrible. There was hardly any hot water. It was Luke warm at best. Complained and someone came to the room to fix it. He put his hand in it and said it would be fixed the next day. We complained the next day...same response. We complained again, heard no one else has issues but told us it would be fixed. After 3 days of 8 VIP rep Veronica finally got us a new room. The desk manager first said there would be a charge for the room change but quickly reversed that thought. I was ready for a loud fight if necessary. I'm not complaining from a first world complainer. This was a three thousand dollar vacation with Luke warm water at the best. Our first room was adequate but our neighbors had heavy mold, cold water, and one had raw sewage coming in from a light fixture. No 5 star resort here. Thank God they have a good beach. A little raking would go a long way to make it ideal. When other posters say to stay away - take note!

Scuba trip. First time to Cozumel. It was fun. Dive guide & boat good and they were friendly. Guy at dive sho super awe
Hotel a little run down. Needs some updating. People were friendly though. Bordeaux was a great restaurant. And Luis was fabulous our entire stay. Scuba diving was great and loved the dive shop on site. Can’t think of anything else to write at this time.
