Beautiful resort
Resort and grounds are beautiful and maintained. Very peaceful stay. Houston and Julio were wonderful butlers. Tobias at the bar is the best! Jhonny was a great sommelier. Food was good for an all inclusive. I like the size of- small enough that you can easily go from pool to beach to restaurants.

Truly exceptional experience and leaving us wishing we’d booked to stay longer!
Cofe and Reynaldo were our butlers and were simply fabulous. The hotel itself was beautiful, from the furnishings to the decor, top to bottom. The grounds and inside were well kept and ALWAYS very clean. The restaurants were delicious, from the tenderloin and lobster at El Galeon, to the fresh sushi and habachi at Hashira and absolutely delicious lobster and beef carpachio at the Italian restaurant. I would recommend trying to make it to dinner by or around 6:30, so you don’t have a wait. The variety of daily buffets were kept fresh and very good. We at there every day as well. The pools were well maintained and beautiful. Bingo at the swimup pool bar was fun and the had dance lessons, daily yoga activities and more near the gazebo. Our room was gorgeous, spacious and straightened and serviced more than once a day by the wonderful maid staff. The 24 hour room service was awesome and our butlers were exceptional, leaving us wonderful surprises, more than once. We truly never were left “wanting” for a thing. The service was warm, welcoming and always with a smile. The beach was beautiful and well kept. The shows at night were always fun and some were quite spectacular. Our stay was a true 5 star experience and would recommend this resort to anyone. My bestie and I had such a great time, we definitely can’t wait to return.

We will be back!!!
All of the night time restaurants were amazing from the service to the food. Every thing was very clean. Everywhere you look someone is always cleaning something. Houston and Julio made sure everything was perfect and special for my wife’s birthday and our wedding anniversary.

A wonderful surprise
First time visitor and was so impressed with the property, staff and beaches. If you are a beach walker this one is for you. The sand is soft without shells or rocks. There is seaweed but the property sweeps it clean each day. It has a wide variety of restaurants and buffets. There is wonderful musical entertainment each night at the hotel bar until the other shows start up at around 9:00. Just enough entertainment to make it a relaxing trip without making it boring. Only wished we had stayed longer because it took us several days to figure out how the system worked. Get the hotel app. when you first get there as it will tell you the activities for the day and menus. Also if you want a particular beach chair you have to mark your spot early. The one unfair thing is that people claim chairs and don't show up until late afternoon! Also make sure you get the name of the hotel correct. We ended up at wrong one. It is the "Grand" Bavaro.

As exceptional as last time !
Just returned from another exceptional experience. The good: Food is exceptional, you can have on most days, lobster for lunch and supper. beach buffet is very good, lots of selection. Galla night - wow ! what a display, everything you could want or need ! Restaurants - french, steak house, etc all great. Only need reservations for Japanese. Drink quality - high. Real orange juice with a vodka makes a world of difference. Rums - malibu rum, they have Barcelo higher end quality, vodka etc all good quality. Beach and Pool chairs - cushioned, comfy. Staff - they genuinely love their jobs - best staff of any resort I have been to. There are some that are not as friendly but they are 95% perfect. Met the resort manager - she is always walking around checking things out, very nice lady. Beach - there was no seaweed this time of the year, is more in summer time. Sand was nice and walked for about 2 miles in one direction one day. Was a lovely walk. Pool bartenders - exceptional. Eay was new, he was awesome, they were all very attentive and made sure you were served in order or arrival. Most people spoke english, and there were very few spanish speaking in the pool so they did not get preferential treatment as I have witnessed on other resorts. No locals - sometimes you get an influx of locals and it turns into party time at some resorts - not here, 3 night minimum booking keeps them away and overall quality of the clientele is high. This is not a party resort but they do a foam party once a week and it was fun. This is a resort for mostly professionals - ie, doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, business owners etc.. so you end up with well rounded people to talk to which was very nice, overall a slightly older crowd. They changed the night time a bit with live singer - and dancing - this was much more fun at night as last time we needed to go to selection side to enjoy some dancing. Now with the dancing and live singers, we enjoyed it much much more. I have been to a lot of resorts and overall this is the best quality for price I can find. The bad ************** Overall very little to complain about.. There were some younger people who made it into the pool from the beach and were staying at the domincana, they told us they wanted to check out the Grand. they actually got into the pool and were having drinks at the bar hiding their wrist bands. At least they were nice !! Security needs to keep an eye for this. Security guard by the yoga between grand and selection - he is a really nice guy, he watches everyone coming and going, but the beach area is where more attention needs to be given as some can come onto the resort from there I noticed. They gave me a room close to the lobby over the star cafe area and told me it was a $700 upcharge normally but they would do it for no extra charge... Not sure why it would be extra, it was a standard room.. Dont make stuff up, after 30 iberostar visits I know nonsense when I hear it. People that visit this resort are not stupid. My last visit was the other side top floor close to the beach for no extra charge. Resort was 1/2 full as most.. I would suggest if you are NOT busy, give better rooms to try and impress people so they come back again.. we ate at the french twice because the first time the steak was nothing like my last visit in June. So we tried it again - and it was much better - so there is some inconsistency. Bugs - there were a lot of bugs. I have never in 15 years of travel had so many bug bites. I used bug spray and didnt receive any more after day 3 but the first couple days I had a lot. Otherwise that is about it - really nice place, great people, great food, and atmosphere.
