Safe secure and well appointed (and great staff too)

Simply amazing, we stayed here during hurricane Milton as we were not allowed to leave the state due to restrictions put in place by the state governor. Firstly massive praise to all the staff and cast members. (Elizabeth) in the customer relations was so sweet and helped us out with getting the room for our stay (Wed 9th- Friday 11th) to ride out hurricane Milton, and secondly to everyone else who stayed professional and kind even during the pre hurricane and the tidy up afterwards. A truly special place and in our opinion very safe to stay in Alligator Bayou house 26 room 2638 Fabulous.

    Disgusting disregard for safety.

Was booked with a pet for 2 nights to ride out Milton THEY TURNED AWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF A HURRICANE WHEN IT WAS TOO LATE TO GET OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS! Because the pet is a cat. No human decency! Disgusting disregard for safety. They confirmed a pet room. The error is theirs and should not turn someone away in a freaking hurricane!

    Good hotel with children

We stayed there to be close to our family visiting. But would not recommend for couples. The room was spacious with a “lodging” decor (paneling in the walls), and did not offer any additional amenities or toiletries except shampoo, conditioner and body soap. It had a Murphy bed that converts to an additional bed best for families with children. Lodge 27 was a very good location near the food court, parking and bus depots.

    Handicap Accessibility Not Available

We’ve stayed at this resort many times but this time we brought my handicap mother with us so I when booking the room online I requested a handicap accessible room. When we arrived our room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator access so I went to the front desk to explain that I needed a handicap accessible room because my mom has mobility issues and can’t access the 2nd floor and that we also need a room that has a walk-in shower with handicap rails. The employee assured me they could help but after checking said they did not have any handicap rooms available for the size of our party but could give us a regular room on the first floor and then proceeded to look at other resorts to see if they could accommodate us. After an hour and a half of looking I was told our only option was to either pay an additional $1200 for another room or keep the regular room they had available on the first floor. Unfortunately I had already spent a fortune to stay at this resort and didn’t have an additional $1200 to pay for an extra room so we had no choice but to stay in the regular room and do our best to make it handicap friendly. We had to move a chair into the bathroom for my mom to be able to use as a rail to get up and down from the toilet and in and out of the tub which was very scary. I was supposed to be on vacation but felt more stressed and worried throughout our stay because I was worried about my poor mother getting hurt because she didn’t have the proper handicap accommodations. It’s very disappointing that they didn’t have enough rooms to accommodate our needs especially since it was requested at the time we booked the resort.

    Disappointing Stay - no water

I really wanted to love this resort. I have read good things and needed to try it for myself. There are good points to the resort. The rooms were comfy and clean. I liked the food options. Riding the boat to Disney Springs was a very relaxing experience with great new views of the grounds. Unfortunately they booked us into a building with no water service. No warning was given. I had mentioned during check-in that we were hoping to get a room and get some laundry done so nearby laundry would be great. We couldn't even flush the toilet. When I called customer service to let them know about the water issue they informed me there wasn't a restoration time but the outage would be temporary. I'm sorry - water availability is actually a need - not a nice option to have. They told me I could get my name on a list and be called back if another room became available with water. Uhh... we packed up and went back down to the lobby. When walking into the lobby there was a sign indicating there was a planned electrical outage for the next morning between 1:30 and 5:00 am. Terrific! No water and no electricity! At that point I was beyond upset and emotional. After wasting another 30 minutes waiting they magically found us a room with water. We went and got laundry started and sat by the closest pool. There was a sign off to the side of one of the gates indicating the pool was closed for refurbishment. However there were guests enjoying the pool so we went ahead and sat down to relax for a bit. Then we all get asked to leave the pool -it's a liability to have us in there we were told. Terrific. But don't worry - we were welcome at the other on-site pools. Again - not one word about the closed pool during check-in. It was a trek to the other pools. Multiple reviews and customer service reps described this a small and intimate resort. I did not find that to be the case at all. It is very spread out and has multiple bus stops. If you don't get a room in one of the buildings next to the lobby/restaurants you will be walking quite a ways. Be prepared for that. No elevators - I knew that going in and think you should as well. Overall I understand that all hotels have maintenance issues. It's how the staff handles those issues that makes the difference. Not being upfront and honest with the guests that you're inconveniencing is completely unacceptable to me. This is a staff and guest experience failure. That's not even ok at a lesser brand - definitely not ok at Disney. I have reached out to customer service - no response at all so far.
