    We would come again

We had a fantastic time at Sunscapes. Shout out to all the staff that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome our entire stay. A particular shout out to our "Explorer's Club" hosts Diana, Sandy, Georgina, and Nayeli, for being awesome to our kids. Muchas Gracias!

    Good Overall Experience

The food was great and the service was amazing. Manuel in the world cafe gave us some of the best service! There was always things to do in the resort whether it was watching a magic show or participating in events led by the staff. The fire show was definitely the highlight of the trip! Roberto was extremely friendly and kind, very personable! Christian and Oscar the bellhops always had a smile on their face and were happy to help with anything you had an issue with. Bela from the lounge bar had great service and always suggested a new and fun drink to try. The Italian restaurant was so delicious and very formal. Good place for a fancy dinner with your significant other or family but make sure you follow the dress code or you’ll be making a walk of shame back to your room to change. The only negative aspect of my experience was the dated rooms. The shower head was leaky and the water temperature was never consistent. The people on the beach selling stuff would often bother you in the resort area even when you are dining in the world cafe. Overall this resort is a great place to take your family with things to do for all, young or old, tall or small.

Bellhops the unsung Heroes at Sunscape

Cristian and Oscar were fantastic at checking our bags at the beginning and end of our trip. Made the time we were waiting for the shuttle to take us back to the airport pleasant as they chatted with us while we waited. Made the end of the trip happy as we were sad to leave Sunscape to return home to work.

Great family resort with lots to do!

Our family (10 people in total) really enjoyed this resort. It's not a large one, so finding each other was pretty easy. The food was all excellent. Our favorite restaurants are (I am writing this review from the resort still) probably D'Mario, an Italian restaurant with fantastic food. Our waiter tonight was Rudolfo. He did a fantastic job. We enjoyed his hunor and hard work for our large group. We also enjoyed Tiki Taco, although it was super warm in there. Would have been nice to have had a bit of air movement in there. Food was amazing though. The buffet was also very yummy. We felt the staff were all fantastic. We especially look forward to seeing the buffet waitress, Gladis. She is always smiling and having a "sensational day". Great job, Gladis!! The only thing we didn't feel was super fair was the fact that the main buffet had a very strict "no sleeveless shirt" policy for men, whereas women could literally come in wearing their swim suits as long as they had somewhat of a cover up... even if it is completely sheer. My husband and sons all had to take their turns being asked to go change. The rooms are comfy, beds very nice. The shower water is a bit unpredictable in temperature swings. A number of times we have had to jump away as it all of a sudden gets scalding hot (and it isn't even set to be super hot in the first place). Our family enjoyed the mini golf, a bit of an interesting location for it, but whatever. We found the entertainment good. Aldo was a very nice guy who ran some of the entertainment. He and I had a good conversation at bingo. He spoke very good English. I really liked Coco Cafe. The iced coffees were a treat! Another thing we wish we had more access to was the ping pong table and pool table. Unfortunately that is only for 13-17 year olds. One of the staff did let us use it once for a ping pong tournament. All in all, this is a really great family resort. There is quite a bit to do here. We are Canadians who are here April 26-May 3, 2025. We have obviously hit the end of the typical vacation times for us Canadians as the resort is 90% Mexicans guests. They have been very friendly to us (especially when they find out we are Canadians). Thankfully we haven't seen any nudity, and other than a few skimpy swim suits here and there, it is not too bad in that regard. I also really liked how the resort allowed some vendors to come set up their items for sale in the main pool area twice this week.
