Nice getaway
The resort is beautiful. The rooms were nice and clean with lots of pillows. The swimout would have been nice if the water was heated. I’m from northern Ohio so when I saw people complaining the swim outs were cold I figured they were southerners (sorry lol). But even as a northerner I could not stand the frigid water. All the employees are amazing and really go above and beyond. The beach isn’t really swimmable but we knew that before we went. Overall a pleasant experience.

Food Poisoning and/or Virus
The hotel is nice, rooms are spacious and clean, the service staff is outstanding! The pool area servers were amazing and made the trip! However, we were there when there was an outbreak of either food poisoning or a virus. We learned about this on Day 2 from some guys on the Breathless side. We spent most of our time on the Secrets side, to learn many people were affected by this bug. Our 21 yo daughter was hit by the bug on Day 3, she became violently ill with vomiting and diarrhea. The housekeeping staff was amazing, but the hotel manager and front desk staff were unconcerned and unhelpful. We had the doctor to the room twice, at a price tag of $650. No one from the hotel management called to check in, try to accommodate us or make us feel like they cared. When we checked out, we left copies of the doctor bills and were told we'd here from management that day, 3 days later and no word!

Good time
The entire resort was fun. We had a great time engaging with the friendly stafff. I stayed on the Secrets side and I enjoyed Rosewater and the Hibachi restaurant (on the breathless side) the most. The food was always good and the drinks were great.

A Travel Agents Review
We just got back last night (December 1st) and I wanted to write an honest review as a Canadian Travel agent. My husband and I (mid-late 30s) traveled with my parents (late 60s-early 70s) to Secrets Riviera Cancun, and had an unbelievable experience. I will preface this by saying we are big beach people, in fact is it usually in our top 3 “must haves” when choosing a resort. So the fact that this property has a very low scoring beach, and was still one of our best trip experiences speaks volumes. The staff is what makes this property so special. Hands down. They literally cannot do enough for the guests, and the genuine hospitality is felt throughout the entire property. We spent most of our days over at the Breathless pool, where Edwin and Rogelio looked after us with the upmost respect and enthusiasm. Our personal favourite waiter was Pedro from the Mexican restaurant, who also works the special events like Thanksgiving dinner and Mexican night. His infectious laugh and attention to detail made for an unforgettable experience each day we saw him. Being an agent, I acknowledge I am very fortunate that I am able to travel and experience a lot of resorts, but there has never been a resort that I felt the need to return a second time, until this one. I will be counting the days until I return to see all our wonderful friends we have made at the Secrets/Breathless property. Thank you!!

The most relaxing vacation ever
Well we're to start , The grounds are spotless. The rooms are perfect. We love the lighting system in our room , many options. Room was always spotless and fridge was full all the time . There was a bug going around and unfortunately I got it for 24hr and they gone and so did many people as well.. could be from the breathless side buffet? Anyways no idea but we typically stayed on the dreams side and ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at our own restaurant. Food was great. We did try the buffet and many options but we stuck back with our own restaurant again .. we did try the hibachi restaurant that was good experience.. everyone was amazing and nice especially our lady Mar who served us drinks daily .she is the sweetest, nicest person we met .. she spends the time to know you . I highly recommend to give her a big bonus!!!! If you want to see us back. Also we need to mention the prefered lounge bar tender Luis is the best in the business it's a must try and makes the best expresso martini. So this trip was ment for reset, recharge and it did exactly that. The spa type feel daily with the spa music was just perfect.. it has the best sunrise . NOTE: if you want a party vibe it's the breathless side 100% . If you want 100% quiet relaxing the prefered side is the way to go. If you want a certain seat on grounds wakeup 630am to sit and save .. they won't give you towels till 7am if your around pool but by the water you can get they right away. The chairs on beach go fast. Pool is nice with no issues also the daily entertainment was good with the lead of Steven. He was so funny and we learned alot of Spanish.. he made our day . Anyways was the best relaxing vacation we had ever so that huge .
