Secrets Wild Orchid must have the best location in Montego Bay!
Located on a few different coves and beaches. Beautiful sunsets looking to sea and towards mountains of lush green vegetation. Plenty for everyone to do here! Whether you want to go on a guided snorkeling trip with staff, take out a paddle board, go kayaking or do a little yoga, Or just relax! Secrets Wild Orchid has something for everyone. My room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and pillows.

Did Not Seem Like A 5 Star Resort
I went with my wife for our honeymoon. Prior to the vacation, I had called the resort to inquire about something be done for us for our honeymoon. The person told me that when we check in, to let them know then. When we checked in and told them, they told us we should have told them earlier. They told us they would send us a bottle of champagne and some other stuff but we would have to talk to the concierge the next day to get the free goodies. We did and NOTHING that was mentioned on the resort's website was offered. Nothing was free and everything needed a payment. We didn't even get a honeymoon sign on our door. That was a let down. We asked on 3 different days for something and nothing was done. Room service took 1+ hours to arrive. There was no dinner buffet which is weird. A La Carte dinners were no reservations so every night you had to wait for a table. Beaches were very nice but small. If you weren't out of your room by 9AM you would not find a chair and had to wait for someone to leave in order to get something. Food and drinks were absolutely incredible. The rumours of Jamaica having the best food were true in my opinion. I loved it. The staff were friendly and nice, not everyone though. I have experienced way nicer in other countries. The Resort is also extremely small. I'm used to Bahia Principe type resorts with multiple resorts on the property easily accessible with multiple different kinds of restaurants to visit but this resort was very very small. It did not seem like a 5 star resort honestly speaking.

Food was terrible!
My husband and I attended this resort November/December 2024 for our honeymoon and it was very disappointing. We will not be recommending this resort to anyone and we likely will never go back to a Secrets resort again as they have really gone down hill. - Our biggest issue was the food... it was HORRIBLE. We struggled to pick a place to eat each day because the food quality was very poor and everything was just reused constantly. Everything at the breakfast buffet was the same food, plus a bit more, at the lunch spots. The "specialty restaurants" also reuse the buffet food. My husband ordered some kind of beef stir fry at dinner and it was the exact food he had earlier that day for lunch at the buffet. Most items at the restaurants were just barely warm and sometimes cold when you received it at your table. Our stay was 10 days and we were ready to come home after 3 days of trying all the restaurants. The lines and waits were also quite long to get into any of the restaurants! We do understand food waste is huge and they have to minimize that somehow but this was not acceptable. We witnessed multiple people walk out of restaurants because they couldn't eat the terrible food. - Our room was clean but VERY loud! You could hear everything through the gap under the door. We were not able to sleep in as the resort often started pressure washers and lawn mowers first thing in the morning plus any of the guests getting up and leaving their room would create a lot of noise as the doors slam and echo in the hallways. - I will say the staff were all very nice and helpful and the issues I have outlined were not a result of them, this is a bigger problem. Overall this resort was overpriced and I don't think we would go back even if it was offered to us for free. Secrets has really gone down hill and it is far from luxury

Excellent stay!!
First time visit in Jamaica and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wild Orchid. My boyfriend proposed to me on our second night which made the stay even more special. The grounds are absolutely stunning - highly recommend taking a walk along the beach front between 5:30am and 6:15am it is so peaceful and quiet, many times we saw starfish and/or stingrays! At the rocky parts of the beach it is the perfect opportunity to go snorkelling as there is loads to see - I’d recommend buying a snorkel and goggles before you go and take them with you as the gift shop were selling them for $50USD each!! We ended up buying one between us and took turns! We absolutely loved the food. The breakfast buffet had so many options. The staff at the omelette station were amazing and all servers were pleasant. We varied lunch times, eating sometimes at the Barefoot grill, sometimes at Oceana (seafood restaurant) and sometimes in the world cafe. All 3 offer amazing food options - big shout out to the pasta station in the world cafe, she knew my fiancé loves a spicy tomato pasta and by the end of our visit a lovely touch was that she remembered his order & threw in a few extra chilli flakes each time which he loved! We visited the Italian restaurant the night we got engaged and the staff treated us like royalty after they found out about our news! Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the lady that served us that night but her service was A*, even giving us a 15% discount on a special bottle of bubbly! Other restaurants we visited during our stay was the Asian restaurant/ teppanyaki bar - the teppanyaki chef had so much energy and was so fun! We loved our ‘Jamaican Japanese’ experience (as he would put it)! We visited the Jamaican restaurant twice as the food was to die for - this is the only restaurant we had to wait for a table but we didn’t mind at all. We also ate at the Mexican which was good. The outdoor night entertainment looked good, but we didn’t hang around much because if you didn’t get there early enough it was hard to get a seat and you would need to spend the duration stood up, might not matter much to some but we prefer having a seat and somewhere to put our drinks. We are a couple that usually prefer loungers by the pool rather than on the beach. However this holiday has completely changed our perspective, having spent most days on the beach. The waitress on the beach was amazing, she knew the drinks we liked and always ensured we were okay, nothing was too much to ask from her. The bar staff at Bar-acuda were very friendly. Maybe a reason for our pool experience not being as good as the beach experience is because we found the staff around the pool and pool bar to be a little rude, they didn’t seem happy to be there. We noticed it didn’t seem directed at us as we noticed the same with others around the pool. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good, there was always staff around sweeping the floors, taking general care of the hotel grounds. Our maid Melonay was amazing, always happy to stop for a chat - when she found out about our engagement she brought a banner for our door that read ‘just engaged’ which was a lovely touch. If we had anything bad to say I think it would just be the food ordered by room service. One night it rained heavily for a few hours so we decided to have a night in the room on the balcony with room service & beers. The service itself was good but the food was poor - the pizza was way too thick and doughy (completely different to the pizza you got at the barefoot grill) and the nachos were hard and stale which was a shame! I had a little bowl of nachos (almost) everyday for my lunch as a little starter and in the restaurant they were great. Overall we rate this hotel highly and would recommend it to anyone. We will certainly be back, especially now it is our little special place following our engagement there!! Tip - take small notes (US or Jamaican dollars) for tipping.
