Food poisoning
Nice resort, friendly staff however our ocean view room was far from that! You could see a small glimpse of the ocean and that was it. The room is behind the trees in the photo. We upgraded from $80US per night and got a spectacular view. The food is so-so and on our 4th day we both got food poisoning! We spent 36 hours being sick and in bed. We reported it to the concierge and he denied it could be that! No one checked in us and we found out we weren’t the only ones to get it that day from the Barefoot grill. Not impressed!

Sonia the amazing waiter at Xcelerate pool
Sonia the waiter was phenomenal! She assisted us each day at the Xceperate pool and always greeted us with a smile. She was fast, efficient and so much fun! Even though our large group had a lot of request and she was juggling other guest, she did it all so gracefully and we really appreciated her service each day. We were excited to come by the pool and see her each time. She really made our time at the pool memorable.

First Trip to Mexico
Just got back from visiting Breathless and I’d say it was such a great experience. The staff is phenomenal, extremely pleasant and kind. The bartenders know how to make a good drink, so we were quite impressed by that. I recommend downloading the app before you arrive, it tells you everything including restaurant options and the activities for the day. There are a lot of options for food, one buffet option and 4 all-a-carte restaurants to choose from, all great with good variety. There are two large pools, one that was more for entertainment and the other for lounging, both very nice. There is always something to do, which I really enjoyed (it even rained 2 days of our trip and they still had scheduled activities). Also, the gym is extremely well maintained. I was very impressed by the options they had (many treadmills, elliptical, weight rack etc) and the spa is defiantly worth taking a peak (great service and options for couples massage or water circuit). Overall, the grounds were well kept and in good condition. There are only 2 downsides I would have wanted to be told about before coming, the beach is horrible and the location of the hotel is rather isolating. The beach has a lots of rocks and the water is very murky, so be warned if you are looking for a crystal blue ocean view, this isn’t the place to find it. The location was of a surprise, we arrived during the morning and thankfully we did since you have to take this dirt road down to the hotel away from the city centre which if you haven’t been to Cancun before may be alarming initially. We also noticed that there we lots of pot holes and since it rained the day before, flooding along the roads leading up to the hotel. Since you do stay mainly onsite, it’s not a big deal but important to consider if you want to leave for an excursion. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel, we’ll definitely be back!

November 2024 Couples Trip
Service was good at all bars, big props to Charlyboy at pizza shop down by the beach. He was always checking on us and was very friendly! Some of the restaurants were slow for meals, not a big deal, but lot of down time waiting. Plenty of food options and good lounging opportunities at various pools.
