Beautiful Resort, But Terrible Service – I Won’t Be Returning
I recently stayed at the Hideaway Royalton Punta Cana and while the resort itself is aesthetically beautiful, the overall experience was tainted by rude, unprofessional, and unaccommodating staff. From the beginning, it felt like asking for even the smallest things—like salt and pepper at the omelette station—was met with frustration, eye rolls, or just outright attitude. Sadly, this was the tone of many of our interactions throughout the resort. The worst experiences were at the restaurants. The hostess at Jade had an attitude that was just as bad as the food. At Grazie Restaurant, the hostess Pamela was extremely rude to my family of 12, making what should’ve been a pleasant group meal uncomfortable and frustrating. That said, the bartenders at the Hideaway bar were friendly and one of the few bright spots when it came to staff interactions. They were attentive and welcoming, and I appreciated their professionalism. However, things ended just as poorly as they started. Upon checkout, the staff was supposed to bring our bags to the shuttle. Ten minutes before the shuttle was scheduled to leave, I asked about the bags—only to find out they were still sitting at the Hideaway check-in desk. I was told the phones were not working and that’s why no one could communicate the bags were there. This is absolutely unacceptable. You don’t go on vacation to deal with stress, attitude, and poor service. While the property is stunning, the staff at this resort, in general, lack basic hospitality and customer service skills. I will not return, and if you’re considering staying here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. There are plenty of beautiful resorts in the Dominican Republic that won’t treat guests like an inconvenience.

Outstanding
This hotel offers exceptional service, and the concierge team was truly outstanding. It's a place where every interest is catered to, thanks to the wide variety of activities and dining options available. Nelio, our concierge, was always in touch and made sure all our needs were met. I will definitely be returning on my next vacation!

Felt like a second home.
My wife and I had an excellent time! The good was the staff, entertainment and again, the staff! Our room attendant Nelio was excellent. He was very attentive to our needs that enhanced our vacation experience. The service staff at Scores made me feel at home, and the wings were just the way I like them. The resort did a good job in keeping you entertained nightly, especially with the White Party. The bad was the water. We had a temporary incident with brown water. They got corrected by the end of the day. The just “ok” was the food in the general dining. . Sometimes it was really good, other times it was meh. The specialty restaurants (steak, Italian & seafood) was pretty good. Overall, I would definitely recommend booking your vacation here!

Fantastic hotel but remember to tip!
Hotel is fantastic, beautiful scenery, well laid out, right next to the beach. Would definitely recommend a swim up room in the hideaway, pay for the extra diamond club membership as well as you get some really good benefits. Dennis was our butler and he was fantastic, so friendly and helpful, really helped make the trip even more special. Drinks are fantastic, full of flavour but food was quite bland most of the time, not terrible but not amazing either. If your from Europe and it is your first time travelling outside don’t forget to take dollars with you, tipping is expected which we were not aware of and had some awkward experiences when we didn’t tip, service was fantastic once we did.

Amazing!
Beautiful hotel and super friendly staff! Jean Paul aka JP Pappi was great and kept us entertained! Rudy at the Antonio beach bar was great and the drinks were delicious!
