Great hotel could be 5 star with a little more TLC

Firstly let me start by saying if you are about to travel to this hotel you will have a great time. Overall it’s a good hotel with some nice touches. I would rate it as a 4 star which could be 5 star if they made some tweaks. Rooms : the rooms are great. Loads of space, fantastic views and very clean all the time. The shower pressure needs attention but it does work it’s just intermittent. Beds and pillows are really comfortable. Pools : some of the sunbeds have pads on them and are wide and comfortable. There are beds on the beach which are like a double bed with a big thick mattress and pillows. The beach is also super clean all the time. Plenty of shades available. The swim up bar has a variety of cocktails and the service is quick. Towels are available all the time with no limit and no card system which is great. Restaurants : the buffet service is awful. Really slow for drinks and they forget about you completely most of the time. There is a good range of choice in the buffet. The Taj Indian restaurant is 10/10. Must do. Hunter steakhouse is 7/10. It’s mediocre but better than the buffet. Zen Teppanyaki is 9/10. Food is great and there is plenty of it. The early sitting is busy and very loud! The Italian is 3/10. Service dreadful. Food poor (my pizza was burnt) and there is never a full menu available. Sports bar 3/10. Avoid the Cuban sandwich at all costs however Tater Tots earned the bar the 3 points as they are great. Sands bar for lunch is 8/10. Great view and tasty food. My main issue is that is no air con in the restaurants. In Zen it is like sitting in a sauna. Where it is available I would suggest asking for seating outside. Diamond club - worth it to sort restaurant bookings alone. The app is not great and pales in comparison to the RIU app. Our Butler Noel was amazing. 10/10. He really looked after us. Top tip - you can get drinks to take away from the Diamond lounge, they have a much bigger range and are top shelf choices. As other reviews have said the check in process does take longer than main reception if several people are checking in at once. Due to the wait I expected to be offered a drink whilst we waited in the lounge however we were ignored for 30 mins. Overall great hotel and we had a fabulous holiday. Notes for the hotel (to raise the rating) - turn the lazy river jets on. It’s not a lazy river without movement it’s just a narrow pool - Fix the beds in the middle of the main pool. They are ripped and look cheap. - Staff need their own lifts. Every time we got in a lift a member of staff was in it with a cart of some description. - Fix the app. Even the staff admit the app is awful. It says you can book restaurants you can’t. It allows you to book restaurants on days they are closed. Terrible experience. - Pool table in the sports bar is not level and all the balls roll to the far end. - We were watching a game in the sports bar at 3pm in the afternoon and were asked to move from the tables to allow people in to eat. There was no one else in the bar. I thought the point of a “sports” bar was to watch sport. - Mini bar in room should be restocked without having to request it. Same goes for the tea and coffee in room. - The Martini bar should be a chill out area with comfy low seats and tables. The current choice is sit outside sports bar in a very loud and lively environment or sit at uncomfortable stools at the Martini bar. You need a more chilled bar area. - Sliding bathroom door in room needs super human strength to open and close - Diamond club lounge and check in is almost the opposite to first class service. The staff here were terrible in comparison to the rest of the hotel staff. Rude, dismissive and with a superiority complex. I did not feel valued or welcomed in any way when interacting with staff in the lounge or at the diamond club desk. - Drop the evening entertainment which involves the dance troop and a girl on a violin. It almost makes your ears bleed. - Please get air con in the restaurants. It would be a much better experience were we not sitting in a sauna - Finally butler Noel is the shining light of this hotel. Give this guy a raise. He is awesome.

    10/10 from us :))

We had such a great time at this hotel! I came with my mum and godmother and we had the best time 🫶🏻 the food and drinks were incredible, we didn’t have one bad meal and the jerk chicken near the beach was so tasty and tender! Special thanks to Ashana who made us some very tasty food, very lovely lady! Tyrone was great and Danae always made sure we had lots of drinks around the pool! Also Brandon kept us entertained at the Lobby bar every evening! Would 100% recommend this hotel!!

    Amazing worthwhile trip

So beautiful and everyone is so nice and welcoming. So many fun things to do; drinks, watersports, activities, food, dancing, and much more. Despite all of the wonderful things to do, we were only disappointed by the water sports company merging and we could not do many watersports but there are many excursions.

    Family trip

January 30 - February 6, Royalton Blue Waters, Montego Bay, Jamaica This time, we traveled with family—my parents (ages 70+), my sister and nephew (6 years old), my husband, and me. This was our 8th visit to the resort, and we continue to enjoy it every time. However, it's not a perfect resort, and it's definitely not a 5-star experience anymore. The quality has declined over the years. The Good: The staff and servers around the pool are absolutely wonderful! They always find a way to help and make us feel special. Drinks are served nonstop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, and Diane and Nadine, in particular, are amazing. Casrine, our night server at the Village by the nightclub, is another gem. I miss you so much! The beach food is delicious! We enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, quesadillas, and nachos. Perfect for a casual meal by the beach. The pool staff is always working hard to keep the pools clean, and they're quick to help when we need a chair, towel, or directions. Denton, Nevardo, Richard, and Richan—thank you for everything! You guys are the best! The entertainment staff, especially The Vibe team, are one of the main reasons we keep coming back. They make us feel like family, always smiling and checking in to ensure we're having a good time. Special shout-out to Tyron, Jahmau, Kelly, and Malish! My nephew absolutely loved the Kids Club. He had a blast, and we felt comfortable leaving him there as it was very safe, with the staff taking excellent care of him. By the end of the week, he didn't want to leave! Tamara and her team made sure the kids were safe and gave us parents peace of mind to relax. A huge thank you to the hospitality team, especially Sherricka, who helped me reserve dinners when my app wasn’t working. You were a big help! Our room was on the 4th floor with a breathtaking view of the lazy river and the ocean, which was fantastic. The Not-So-Good: Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room didn’t work properly, which made it hard to sleep at night. We called maintenance three times, but the issue wasn’t resolved. Thankfully, the ceiling fan helped somewhat. We also noticed small bugs around the dresser under the TV each night. I requested the room be sprayed and cleaned, but it didn’t help. Thankfully, the bugs were only seen around the dresser. I was disappointed with the quality of the buffet food. While there’s still a wide variety of options, the food isn’t as good as it used to be. Additionally, the servers took too long to clean the tables and bring drinks. Overall: Although the resort isn’t quite what it used to be, it still has a lot to offer, especially thanks to the amazing staff who make each visit memorable. We’re likely to return, but we hope to see improvements in the food quality and room maintenance next time.

DO NOT STAY HERE! MOLD MOLD MOLD!

DO NOT COME HERE! this hotel is extremely run down. We paid for the presidential suites for my family of 4 with 2 small boys. The room was full of mold!!!! Especially the bathrooms. They tried to paint if the mold but the smell is obvious the minute you step in the room. We spoke with management and they offered to change our room to another presidential suite and it was the same issue-MOLD EVERY WHERE! One of my children actually got sick and we had to leave earlier than planned. Stay away from this place. This is NOT habitable and needs to be closed down!!I’m
