Highly recommend!
Highly Recommended! I had an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel and would definitely recommend it to others! The grounds are absolutely immaculate, with stunning landscaping that makes a strong first impression. The lobby and overall property are gorgeous, and the attention to detail is clear throughout. The food was another highlight. As a foodie, I can be picky, but I was blown away by the quality and taste of every meal. Whether you’re enjoying the buffet or dining at the restaurants, there’s something for everyone, and everything is prepared with such care and flavor. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The entire property is well-maintained and spotlessly clean, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The beach was beautiful, and we loved spending time in the water. Just a heads-up: there are sand fleas, so be sure to bring some bug spray—my daughter got quite a few bites and ended up looking like she had chicken pox! But what really made our stay unforgettable was the staff. The heart and soul of this hotel is the people. Everyone is genuinely kind, always with a smile, and they go out of their way to make you feel special. They even remember your name and do everything they can to ensure you have a fantastic experience. Special shout-outs to Ana, Yari, Samuel, Rafael, Brandon (the bartender), Yaritza, Ramona, Nelson, Lorraine, Jasiel, Kelsy, Ambiorix, and Bell Man Willnett. The entertainers were also a lot of fun, especially Chema, who really brought the energy! Overall, this place is stunning, and I can't wait to return. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and fun getaway with amazing service, this is the place!

Amazing week at JOIA Bavaro
We had a beautiful week at the JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar. We had fantastic service all around from the La Perla and Bella Vista buffets and the a la carte , the only exception that I would point out was the service at the Japanese restaurant was not up to the standards of the other restaurants. One of the couples that we had dinner with left before desert was served as it seemed they forgot about us. I had the deep fried ice cream, and when it was served, it was obvious that it had been sitting for quite some time. I don’t think that the animation staff get enough recognition, they are truly stars. They work very long days and are absolutely amazing people. We leave with very good memories and I just want to mention some of the entertainment team that made our trip so enjoyable: Yeli, Rio, Smile, Chocolate, Chema and Ruth - thank you all, until next time. The lobby bar staff are also so attentive, we enjoyed going there before dinner for a drink and would return after the shows in the evening. Brandor who was splitting his time between El Mirador and the Robusto cigar lounge is simply amazing. We were so happy to hear that he was back to the resort. This is our fourth time staying at this property and we will definitely be back and would highly recommend this resort.

Great beach location
Special trip for special events, had a wonderful time despite rainy days. Some things were better than others. Beach: perfect location, clean, little to no seaweed, enough umbrellas, and excellent service Check-in: Christian was fantastic, made us feel welcomed. We were celebrating a birthday and engagement. Got a gift of upgraded room and felt special. Thank you. All other staff working at the front desk were rude, full of attitude, and zero assistance. Offered bottle of champagne, and treats as a celebration, got nothing. When we mentioned we didn’t get anything, we got eye rolling. Attempting to locate our rep to confirm departure, no one would help. Celebration: Carlos (concierge) said we would get a special gift to help us celebrate. We got nothing. Next day, activated voucher, we mentioned we still didn’t get the bottle service or the fruit plate gift (it’s the thought that would’ve counted and made us feel special). His next pitch was timeshare, after finding out one of us works for travel service, we were told “you’re my competition” and we definitely didn’t get the celebration treats. Very disappointed. Charged us for late check-out, didn’t even get clean towels. But did ask if we wanted to leave tip for our butler and the special treatment, SHOCKED we didn’t even know we had one, never got anything special, only got a note from our maid that welcomed someone with a different name. At checkout they said they do special things for everyone celebrating special events, made us feel even worse more disappointing that we got nothing. They mentioned that will speak to manager for compensation and ask again when leaving, which we did, and in return got same rude response “don’t know what you’re taking about there is no manager.” And still charged us extra. Service staff: FANTASTIC, pool, restaurants, towel service, and cleaning staff were all amazing, hard working, and was always fun. You guys are amazing thank you, especially Tobias, thank u for taking care of us on the beach. Food: was a disappointment, buffet is open only on specific days, seafood you see in pictures doesn’t exist, it’s probably from long time ago. You’re navigated to go to a la carte restaurants, minimal choices and food was okay-ish (we’re not picky eaters, but found hard to get a good grab). French would be the best choice. You also get charged extra for wine that’s served at restaurants. Entertainment: only one thing to say, go to neighboring resort soooo much more fun. If it’s a show, get ready to $75 extra per person. Overall: great resort, perfect location. Would we come back here? NO, if they couldn’t make efforts to remember our special occasion, they would probably forget us on our wedding day.
