Check-in Policy - Hotel requires a credit/debit card authorization or cash deposit upon check-in for incidentals; this will place a hold on your funds.
Convention Policy - Individuals attending a convention cannot book this property for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be subject to higher room rates upon arrival.
Transfer Policy - A price may display when children stay free, if your vacation includes transfer to your hotel.
General Information - Room taxes and service fees are included in vacation price. Minimum night stay restrictions may apply. Reservation changes may not be permitted unless authorized by the hotel.
Spring Break Policy - Bookings in the months of March and April will be subject to the following conditions:
- The minimum age requirement for check-in is 18. One parent or chaperone at least 25 years of age will be required per room for check-in.
- Students/youth between 16 and 23 years of age. Adults accompanying are responsible for the students’ behaviour. of the remaining nights.
- In the event that any guests engage in inappropriate behaviour or cause physical damages to the facilities, the Hotel Management reserves the right to expel the said guest without reimbursement or refund of the remaining nights.

Houston and Armando did a great job taking care of us! They sent us the daily calendar and accommodated every request we had. Everyone here is so friendly and the service is amazing!!!!! First time in DR and this resort and we definitely will return.

FIVE STARS all the way!!!
This review is coming two months late, but I felt I needed to compliment these fine people. Houston (Our Butler) is everything you will imagine. He brought everybody to a great place in so many fine touches. Thank you Houston!!! Augusto and Lely at the beach bar found a feel for us very quickly and knew how to take care of everything without much effort. The Pete Dye golf course is super, though the first day was not my best. The ladies at the spa provided some of the best treatments of my (and my wife's) life - Thank You so very much. Of course the people in the Club and the restaurants were great and the dinner buffet should definitely be given a try for their amazing options and quality. Thanks to you all!!! Tim and Angie

Perfect Stay!
Everything about the JOIA Bavaro was excellent. The food was amazing. Restaurant service was topnotch. The resort staff were very friendly and many went out of their way to ask whether we needed anything. We enjoyed the activities and loved the morning yoga with Edison. Alex and Julio took care of anything we requested. And Dai was enthusiastic in encouraging us to have fun in a variety of the activities including dance lessons. There were plenty of palapas available at the beach and they even had coral safe 50 spf sunscreen available at the towel station. (Very much appreciated!) We loved our time here.

Excellent!! Our new go-to resort.
Our first time at this property and very happy to say we have found our new 'go-to' resort for the winter getaway. The location (20 min from airport), facilities, beach (silky white sand, no seaweed, no battling for shaded chairs on the sand), food/beverage (all outlets both buffet and sit-down were 5 stars - food excellent) - exceeded all expectations. Entertainment was the best we have seen at any resort. We have been to other Iberostar Grand properties (Rose Hall) as well as Secrets, Sandals, and Riu Reggae in Mobay, this was our first time travelling to Bavaro. From arrival to departure it (Bavaro IG / JOIA) was perfect! Special mention to Front Desk: Rafael & Garcia - professional and warm service; Butlers: Cofe & Raymundo who checked in with us each day...e.g. responded in <5mins when we 'urgently' needed a wine bottle opened; Lobby Bar: Brandon & Tomas who we're simply wonderful and provided excellent service. Every interaction with all staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. Spoke to several regular guests at the resort, my comments reflect their experience over many visits. We will be back!

Good property. Had a group vacation. Booked all 2 bed and on the first night they gave 4 out of the 5 rooms with one bed. Luckily they resolved the issue same day and the rest of the trip was smooth. Overall everything else with the property was nice.
