    Never Again!

I stayed at this hotel for two nights this past weekend. I live in Orlando and was attending the Taste Central Florida fundraising event on Saturday evening. I thought it would be a good idea to do a local staycation here. The saddest thing about this money-hungry property is that’s all they care about…..money. The cost of everything is criminal and the nickel-and-diming is so off-putting. I was assigned room 21425 (14th floor in the East Tower). My nightly rate was $218.00 per night. Factor in $14.17 (room tax), $13.08 (occupancy tax), $3.06 (sales tax), $2.82 (resort fee occupancy tax), $40.47 (self-parking fee), and $47.00 (resort fee) = $338.60 per night. Service (3/10) - The front desk agent who assisted me at check-in was the most transactional front desk agent I have ever encountered. He did the bare minimum and that was it. No smiles, no Marriott Bonvoy acknowledgement, no acknowledgement of my high-floor request. He simply processed my check-in virtually without conversation and handed me a map, room key card, and two wristbands. I had to ask him to explain what the wristbands were for. I checked-in at around 8:00 PM on a Friday evening, so I did not have to wait very long. The service I received from the male who assisted me a check-in was very similar to my other interactions with staff. They are not professionally trained here, and it is very evident. On top of that, it appears they are super short staffed. Nobody was rude. But, they are transactional and provide the bare minimum level of service. Sad. I requested a one-hour late check-out via the app (12:00 PM instead of 11:00 AM). I was told it would be $50.00 + tax for a one hour later check-out. Outrageous! I declined and the response was: “Thank you for your loyalty as a valued Silver Elite member. Should you require further assistance, we remain at your service. Have a wonderful day.” So, I am a valued member, but you were unable to extend my late check-out by ONE HOUR? Again, this hotel does not care about the guest experience or guest satisfaction. It cares only about making money. Sad. Room (7/10) – Room details: · Very large · Super clean · Mini Refrigerator · Safe · Iron and Ironing Board · Comfortable king bed with large plush pillows and comforter / duvet set · Wi-fi was annoying to get started. Links did not work in the pop-up box, but eventually I figured it out · AC was quiet and made the room freezing cold, which I love · Water pressure in shower was decent, but could have been better · Stand-up glass door enclosed shower · Stationery showerhead and handheld showerhead · Bathroom did not have a door (weird) · Lots of counter space in the bathroom for your toiletries · One tiny shelf in shower for your toiletries · Balcony with glass sliding door overlooked hotel main entrance · Do not disturb / privacy door hanger · Closet with hangers · Conveniently placed electrical outlets · Sofa and coffee table · Luggage rack · Lighting in room was decent · No microwave Hotel Information - This is the largest Marriott hotel in the world, and it sure feels like it. Different room towers and 2,010 rooms. People EVERYWHERE! The front desk has 17 workstations. The lobby is massive, loud, and chaotic all the time. The hotel has an aquatic center (River Falls). It has water slides, a kiddie splash zone, a main pool, and a lazy river. The Falls Pool Slides were closed for emergency maintenance which was extremely disappointing. The hotel has a Starbucks, Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant, pool bar and grill, restaurant with a breakfast buffet, sports bar and grill, lobby lounge, pantry / convenience store, and an Italian restaurant. Long waits for these restaurants. Valet parking is $55.00 + tax per day. The porte cochère is busy and chaotic all the time. Long waits for your car. On-site self-parking in their parking garage is $38.00 + tax ($40.47) per day. The parking garage is far from the lobby, so you must take a shuttle bus back and forth to the parking garage. Long lines to exit the parking garage. Why? Because your key card which is supposed to get you out doesn’t work, so you have to call for help and wait for them to respond. Super annoying. They charge a $47.00 + tax ($49.82) per night resort fee. This is for bottled water, wi-fi, and shuttle bus service to Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks. Location - Nothing in the immediate area. It is far off the main road (World Center Drive). You can’t really walk anywhere to eat or shop. They know that and they love it. It allows them to charge exorbitant prices for everything since they know you are held hostage on property. This hotel belongs in Las Vegas, not Orlando. You should only stay here if you are forced to.

3 of the 6 waterslides are out of commission!!

There is a lot to like about this hotel, however the main reason I chose it over others in the area is that there are 6 water slides between the two pool areas. Well, the entire original slide tower is down for refurbishment. That cuts the number of slides from 6 to 3, which is a big deal if you were just planning to go to the pool every day for your vacation. I absolutely would have booked the JW if I knew this beforehand, but there is no notification about it before you book.

    Very, very dissatisfied

The hotel is dated, everything, including rooms smell bad. Staff not helpful at all. There is only one place to have breakfast in such huge hotel, and the there is one hour waiting line. The pools area have too strong chlorine smell- they should consider cleaning the pools instead adding chlorine- to many small kids are inhaling the chemicals. No accessories in the rooms-no lotions, no mouthwash, towels ripped.

    Amazing !

I had a great experience thanks to our server Michale Nazario ! He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. He anticipated our needs without being intrusive, gave helpful recommendations, and handled our special requests with ease. Would definitely come back again because of the excellent service!

Great hotel, not so much staff! Staff was not too eager to satisfy our needs!

Beautiful hotel. The management, no. I wanted to pay for my daughter with my credit card but the paperwork took WAY TOO LONG. They charged my daughter's credit card in the meantime, then was supposed to give her credit when I paid, too. We are STILL awaiting the credit on her card. It has been almost 3 weeks.
