A lot of noise and expensive to stay.

Stayed there for a conference, got a room on 4th floor right above the reception, there was constant noise either from the front entrance where music played 24/7 so loud it feels like a radio was tuned on in the room or from the bar in the hall. Everything was way overpriced, fx. 2 bananas (yes the yellow fruit) $6.39. The rooms are okay, but nothing special, the surroundings (pool, golf, etc.) was nice.

    not great

I stayed here at a v large conference. Was based in the East tower (easily the most convenient location for conference facilities). As I have now stayed here a few times, some generic comments: 1. In the east tower, if you face the "entrance", the rooms tend to be noisy from the generators and do not have a pleasant smell. 2. This hotel really feels like a large 3 star, given a four star because of its size and facilities. It isn't particularly nice. It is a factory. 3. The pantry is useful although it gets boring quickly! 4. Breakfast, they bought me the wrong omelette order, which contained bacon when I don't eat meat. The manager came, took responsibility and comped the breakfast, but it is pretty rubbish anyway. 5. I don't particularly like the breakfast there, it is nothing special but is functional. 6. I suppose there is an attraction in the water park (didn't use) if staying with families and the pool area is quite big. 7. Do not expect any luxury feel whatsoever. It is a large factory.

My child could have died from their negligence...

It was a beautiful place. And the people there were great. BUT, early in our stay my 5 year old daughter was showing her grandmother how neatly she put away her clothes by opening the drawers on the dresser. She wasn't climbing on it or using it in ANY incorrect way. The entire dresser tipped forward pinning her under the dresser and the large sheet of glass that was on top of it. Fortunately, my daughter is ok. My Mother in Law who witnessed it and was not strong enough to lift the dresser off of her is still traumatized by the event. We had booked 2 rooms for our stay and I was hoping for them to compensate me for one of the 2 rooms and give me some bonvoy points so we could make different memories for our kids at another place. No such luck. I was offered the equivalent of a few hundred dollars in points. I've written the hotel several times, as well as hotel leadership, and been told to deal with "claims" and the claims people just want me to take the points and sign the waiver. It's sad because what was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime for my family is scarred by this event and I am angry with Marriott. They don't care about our experience. I had also asked for some reassurance that they would check the other rooms to make sure the other dressers were affixed to the walls properly and I haven't heard about that either. Ultimately, I'll just post this, with the picture where you can see THE HARDWARE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE USED TO MAKE THE DRESSER SAFE affixed to the back of it with tape, and hope that maybe someone won't stay there because if something does go wrong, they won't stand by their product and make things right.

    Overpriced nonsense

Overpriced nonsense. Could barely hear at check in due to the blasting DJ. Had to fight to get the balcony room for fireworks view that we booked in July for New Year’s Eve. Coffee maker leaked right out the bottom. Didn’t get the water slides we booked specifically for. Disappointing on every level.

Fair - but not great - Festive Fun in Florida

Stayed 11 nights over Christmas and New Year with the family - wife, 3 kids aged 8, 12 and 14, and my mother. It’s an enormous hotel but actually quite easy to navigate. The pool is big and has enough space and loungers even when the hotel is at full occupancy as it was for most of our stay. The “water park” is decent - I put that in inverted commas as it’s three slides (with another three by the main pool) and a small lazy river so I found it a bit oversold but the kids enjoyed it. The shuttle buses to Disney are a bonus, though you do pay for them whether you like it or not through the high resort fee. Now the niggles - - The service is just plain poor. I asked three people the same basic question about the bus to Disney Springs and got three different answers. The staff are generally surprisingly unsmiling, with the exception of a couple of ladies at reception who brought up the average - Checkout was a nightmare experience. They charged us a daily parking charge even though we had no car. They added an extra person charge for a fictional guest over 18. “A new computer system” whatever that means. It took an age to resolve to the point we had to just leave for the airport before it was fixed. An apology would have been welcome - The hotel map and signs in the hotel indicate tennis courts but I only found out when I arrived that we needn’t have brought our rackets - The rooms were not dusted well, shabby balcony furniture and had paint flaking. See photo - The perks for a lifetime Platinum member are really poor compared to other family holidays I have had in Bonvoy hotels globally. No lounge (“because we have several restaurants”), only continental (not full buffet) breakfast for two people from our party of six across three rooms, nothing else to speak of - We had two nights when the people in the room opposite us made a huge amount of noise at 1am, shouting and banging doors. When I raised it to the guy on reception (who I won’t name) they refused to do anything about it other than we should call security if it happens. Raising it with the guests “may upset them” (well how about the existing upset guests?) Thankfully they checked out before us. An apology would have been a start, perhaps some small gesture to compensate for not being able to move us to a quieter room as the hotel was full - The water park and slides for some reason shut at 5pm. That means if you have a day out you don’t have the chance to enjoy it in the late afternoon / early evening. Which grates when they are charging you over $50/day resort fee. Would I return? Probably not. On balance it is not a bad hotel but I expected more.
