Jan 16, 2025Don't waste your money
This resort is old and run down. Tiles missing all over the pool, dirty stairwells, chunks of plaster falling, dim bathroom lighting. The food and beverage is terrible. Sells it self as a kid friendly resort, but it definitely is not. Food selection for kids was non existent. Dried out hot dogs and chicken nugget, very rarely could you get plain pasta or cheese pizza. Ice cream is not available unless you special order it, and at the discretion of the "captain". Kids pool area is deteriorate and unappealing. The Mexican "restaurant" is just another buffet. Only other options for a sit down restaurant is Italian, but does not allow kids under 8, and the Seaside Grill (which has the buffet option for kids). Where is the waffle station, ice cream bar ? All good kid options that are missing. Most kids want safe food options that they are used to. Luckily there was an omelet station every day for freshly cooked eggs, bacon had to be requested, sausages were always over done and dry. What Mexican resort doesn't have guacamole? They had an "avocado salad" that was definitely not fresh avocado. Best meal was definitely in the Italian restaurant, but no special wine, its the same wine throughout the resort. The "food truck"...same limited options and same problem, hamburgers overdone and dry, scary cheese that does not melt on the burgers.

Our experience at sunscape hotel was awesome. Staff very very friendly. ISMAEL bell boy was very kind to us n helped us with our bags. Nice resort n quick walk to shops. Our Italian dinner was excellent n food was good. Bartenders were funny n always happy. Housekeeping staff were very efficient n did a good job n respectEd our privacy. Earthquake was scary but staff reassuring n made us feel safe to return inside the hotel, so thank you again for a lovely vacation

Worth the trip as always
The room was clean, the food was decent, the entertainment was pretty good. Roberto was great to deal with full of energy. Mario was a great waiter very attentive. The pool could use some work as it seems aging. Hopefully they fix it up a bit. It seems a bit more family oriented than the last few times I've gone, but still good.

You get what you pay for. Don't expect more and you will be happy with your stay. If you expect a 4 or 5 star hotel then you will be disappointed. We enjoyed our stay because we did not have high expectations. The app they use is not always up to date and correct with activities. Check the board by the pool for the daily activities.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta - very disappointing front desk staff
Overall the experience at Sunscape Puerto Vallarta was good. First- the Bellman Oscar and Christian were helpful, cheerful and eager to ensure we got what we needed and where we needed to go. Second - front desk staff was consistently terrible, unhelpful and generally obtuse. Particularly a front desk staff name Vanessa. Disinterested in helping, providing any information or assisting with any requests. Restaurants - all the serving staff were wonderful, helpful and eager to see my boys. This made the trip quite relaxing. Despite an overall enjoyment of the resort and other staff, the experience with the front desk staff both on check in and check out was so disappointing and aggravating, we will not be returning to this hotel.
