overrated
Decor outdated. Hotel room door stuck. Staff unresponsive. Mattress too soft. Lobby and check in/out were nice, but don't let it fool you. Shower didn't work correctly. Elevators were slow and too few. Don't go there until they modernize the hotel.

Not the best.
Location - although the location is pretty central, this hotel was marketed as beachfront. To most people, beachfront means the property sits on a beach with direct access to a beach. That is not the case here. You have to cross a major street to get to the beach. Charge beachfront prices for not beachfront property. Pool Deck - the pool deck was unsatisfying and pretty disgusting. The furniture is worn and busted, windows near the infinity pool were smashed. The offerings of the pools bar leave much to be desired. Again marketed as a resort, doesn't meet resort standards. Rooms - for the most part the rooms were fine, but the problem I had with this area was the lack of actual room service options for food. Again, advertised as such and little to no offering for food delivery. Service - my only complaint about service is that they would have maids knocking at your door at 8pm to clean your room????? Why would any hotel assume that is the proper time, I will never understand. Parking - parking is a joke. $50 a day to self park and you'll be lucky to even find a spot that you paid for. 3 floors are reserved for valet 1 for car rentals and the rest is for very tiny over full parking spots for self parking. I do not recommend this hotel, stay at the outrigger properties, Westin, Hilton or Marriott. Much nicer, much cleaner, more of a resort.

TERRIBLE, AWFUL, GREEDY, DISGUSTING HOTEL - DO NOT GO HERE
**DO NOT GO HERE. IT IS NOT AN ACTUAL 5 STAR RESORT** they created such distress to a number of family member when they tried to fine multiple people $500 USD for smoking fines with NO EVIDENCE. It was absolutely ridiculous sad and desperate. Read the other reviews on google, many other people have had similar experience when none of us smoke or vape. It’s very sad with this hotel has done to Waikiki. They also left a disgusting cleaning cart infront of my room for 4 days (SEE PHOTO). If any employees or management from this greedy establishment is ready this! Find a bridge! And answer my emails you greedy Puau

Great location, very nice place
Just got back from a week at the Alohilani. We had a beachside room that was very nice. It is true that the rooms are not super high end, but the room we had was very nice, and clean and it had a tremendous view. The pool area is not very big and I would imagine it would be very crowded during peak season, but what are you doing in the pool when there is an ocean across the street? The longboard club lounge breakfast is great, it is worth looking into club accesss for your stay. There are also snacks and drinks at happy hour time. The staff at this hotel is amazing and so too is the location. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great choice!
wesome hotel! Excellent location. Beach and swimming in front of hotel was amazing. Saw lots of fish and turtles. Aquarium at coffee shop was unreal. Pool and pool deck relaxing and festive. Staff very responsive. Would definitely stay again!
