    Good but room for improvement

Overall, we give this resort a 4. A couple days we loved the resort and other days we were frustrated. We would go again for the beach and the night activities. Pros: - Staff was super friendly. We have been to about 10-12 all inclusive reports and this was one of the best staff we have seen. Extra call out to Hector at the gym, Angel in nighttime entertainment, and the guy making omelettes. Amazing staff overall. - Buffet food was very good with many options - Beach was beautiful and plenty of chairs - Night activities including New Years Eve and Rock Tails were great - Golf course was in great shape Cons: - I paid for a full ocean view but they didn't have one on my first night. We had to change rooms on day 2 and they did not give a refund for the difference in price - Specialty resturants except for hibatchi did not accept reservations. So if you wanted the steakhouse or Italian, you needed to get in line at 5PM and they tell people to go away around 6:30. We wanted to enjoy the beach and eat closer to 7 or 8 so we were stuck at buffet every night - Communication is poor. Although we loved the New Years Eve event, we almost missed it. No signs or advertisment and when we checked in they only mentioned needing reservations for the buffet dinner. We were walking around the resort and we just bumped into the NYE party. Many people in line were in the same position and were turned away from the party. Luckily we were able to get into the party without a reservation

    Save your money

Food was awful. If you want to eat at one of the restaurants get there early and have low expectations. The sushi was cream cheese and rice. The room service and buffet also terrible. The only thing I can state positively was that the Beach was beautiful. Everything else was subpar.

    DO NOT COME HERE

DO NOT COME HERE! DO. NOT. COME. HERE. This place is an absolute scam for all inclusive. I purchased a beach front, swim out villa and wish I never came here. Cons; - Purchased a king bed swim up villa, checked in all they could offer if double beds or basic room with king bed. If I wanted the original king bed I bought I’d have to down grade to a normal room. - No liquor in room only beer. You have to pay extra for liquor. - Good luck going to any of the restaurants. Unless you go at 5 pm they will tell you “the restaurants is closed for the night”. This is at 630-7 pm. - The buffet is the only option basically for food. Well for dinner it is. It’s inedible. The buffet will make you gag. - We had to go buy a bottle of liquor because how badly the drinks are water down. You will have 8-10 and not feel a thing. You will need to add you own to feel anything. - constant construction outside our beach front villa. - Your mini fridge will no work and will not cool anything down Pros; - Pool is nice. - friendly staff - good beach. Overall, I will NEVER go back to an iberostar ever again. You’re better off else where. Please please save your money.

    Ouch!

Where do I start. First time taking the kids with us to Mexico and it hasn’t been great to say the least. When we booked we were offered the option to upgrade our room upon arrival. We were able to do so after tipping 100$. We were given room 121 which I would strongly suggest you avoid if you visit this resort. The room was decent looking and had a great view(sarcasm) of the roof of the building on one end and the plumbing section of the hotel on the other end. The “pull out” bed or couch was broken and had exposed broken pieces of wood underneath the seat part of the couch which could have impaled someone if they sat down hard on the couch. Half the lights in the room didn’t work and the “hot tub” on the patio wouldn’t drain and was falling apart. My wife notified concierge of our disapproval of the room and after negotiating with them for an hour was offered another upgraded room known as a “master suite” but for an additional 80$ a day coming out to just under 700$ for the remainder of the trip. Weird how a resorts subpar room led to us paying more for their issues. Not how it usually works and this was after my wife was in tears for how the room was and our experience thus far and staff did not seem to care. The resort itself hasn’t been updated in over a decade so you can imagine how outdated and broken everything is. Our “master suite” door between rooms does not close, the floor has many cracked tiles that could cut your foot if you aren’t careful, the faucet in the bathroom is loose and moves all over the place, one of our balcony doors didn’t close until I was able to bend the retaining linkage mind you we are 5 stories up with kids. The staff members here seem okay , but a fair amount of them are just texting or browsing their phones all day. The kids club was a joke day one, one person who was laying on the floor playing Nintendo was the daycare person who was “watching our kids”. We went to the gym while the kids were in kids club and I was asked to not drop the weights after I used a cable machine??? I played dumb and said I don’t understand Spanish and the guy just walked away. The food is okay, the alcohol seems watered down and it’s hard to find a waiter or waitress by the pool or beach. Less than accommodating for sure, but I’m not sure if this is the norm for a family resort. Bottom line. Room should have been comped for the inconvenience of their problems. Resort needs to update their rooms and facility for the price we and other families are paying. Staff needs to be more accommodating and attentive to guests. Press Instagram/texting and more customer service oriented. Side note: just the icing on the cake for me, my daughters were cold after getting out of the ocean and said they wanted to get in the hot tub. We made it to both hot tubs and both of them were heated to a glamorous 75 degrees and felt actually colder than the pool. Iberostar- do better, take care of your guests and accommodate any issues your guests have instead of up charging them. Potential future guests- Book somewhere else. Worst México experience I have had and we have been to Mexico a dozen times.

Very good. Thank you for a great vacation.

Overall is very good. At first, our ocean view balcony room had an issue. My 2 sons’ room was fine with no issue. Front desk and its management addressed my issue. We were very happy. Thank you management for giving customer service a high priority. The buffet is great. The main bar ambience is awesome. The speciality restaurants can be of bigger sizes. I suggest a new restaurant that can sit many families. Another resort had space issue too. We were at Royalton, reservations were hard to come by as well. The Christmas buffet was magical and Santa arriving via helicopter 🚁 was spectacular. Resort had Excellent singers and dancers. My wife enjoyed dancing along with the performers. Thank you Iberostar staff for the great things you did. One other suggestion, so many people enjoyed playing ping pong. Possibly having a room with 4 ping pong tables and 2 more pool tables 😎? You already have many pools, a soccer field and a 18 hole golf course.
