Dirty and so disappointed.
I give it 1 star all for the filth we experienced in our room. For the amount of money we spent per night on our suite we were so disgusted to come into the suite and find dirty, chunky stuff on our bedding sheets when we peeled back the sheets on the bed. Literally looked like they didn’t even change the sheets from the last stay, so we contacted the front desk, showed them the pics and asked them to send someone to change the sheets on the bed. We left for the day to Disney and came back to sheets laid at the front door and still dirty sheets on the beds. The disappointment on this trip has been unbelievable. They don’t listen to your request and use “Covid” as an excuse not to clean up the rooms, no house keeping, had to request towels multiple times in order to get them.
The Magic is gone
The hotel is beautiful with Disney decorations everywhere. Now the hotel is starting to show its age and the outside areas are older. The housekeeping was left to be desired they never cleaned our room and only provide clean towels once. Other time we had to ask for towels. The Landscape of Flavors the food was bland and their menu was limited. We ended ordering from other places due to the lack of variety at AOA. The view of our room was the housekeeping bins full of dirty laundry, this stayed there all seven days we were there. We have stayed here in the past but this would be that last time. This resort has degraded over the years and the quality is lacking for the price paid.
Sadly disappointed Disney
I have traveled to WDW and their resorts over 100 times in my life. We have always stayed at almost every resort and stayed at Art of Animation this year due to their policy of allowing pets in rooms. Never in all of my visits prior to this year have I had a more unpleasant stay. The outside could only be phrased as nasty. Trash left every where for days. One example was we saw the same dirty washcloth laying on a walkway for three days. Trash cans over overflowing our entire trip, ice machine on all floors of our building down for our entire trip exact last day, food court staff very unprofessional toward guests, mobile app would not tell you when food was ready nor the mobile food order cast members and we only knew when we checked the bags ourselves for our name. We even had a housekeeping staff open our door letting an elderly man and his dog in our room when he became lost. We were sleeping and scared us when the door opened and the elderly man and his dog started walking in. We screamed and the housekeeping staff pulled him back out of our room. I also blame the family of the gentleman for allowing an obviously elder family member with apparent dementia in the room by himself. This theme continued throughout our entire trip and additionally park visits. I have never seen the parks in dirty shape. Cast members would just walk past trash and never acknowledge it. We saw theft going on several times and no cast members stopping it and even saw a little dog in a baby stroller that had somehow gotten I Magic Kingdom It goes on and on but enough said. Disney what has happened to you ?
The BEST Disneyworld Resort with Kids/Toddlers
We are beyond happy we chose Art of Animation for our Disneyworld vacation. We have two kids, a 5 year old and 3 year old. The level of detail in the design throughout the property is amazing. We stayed in a Cars family suite. It has a kitchenette with small sink, small fridge, and microwave. There are 2 full bathrooms - which was awesome! One sofa bed, one murphy bed that converts from the table, and one separate queen bedroom with en-suite bathroom for parents. I recommend the Cars or Finding Nemo buildings - they are close to the main pools, lobby, buses and dining. Although really any of the themed rooms would be great. If you are looking for a resort experience that screams you are in Disneyworld - this is it! Perfect for the younger ages that get so excited to see their favorite characters in-person. The room was clean and sanitized. The level of service was truly the best we have experienced on our Florida vacation. We were blown away. The guest services team went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exactly what we wanted. The direct to door check in feature on your phone is handy - but make sure you connect to WiFi when you arrive. You will not get great cell service in the middle of the building to unlock your door. We just got old school key cards for free at the front desk - not a big deal. There also a luggage room that is very well ran. We dropped off our luggage on our last day after check out to visit Magic Kingdom before our flight. Easy process, and caught our Magic Express bus to the airport no problem. The frequency of buses could be improved (supposed to be every 20 minutes - and it was more like every 30 minutes). The skyliner was awesome! Easy way to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You don't even have to break down your stroller if it fits through the door. There is a pool bar, restaurant and a self service laundromat which we used. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone with young kids. It has the largest resort pool, and the kids loved each one of the themed pools. Worth the extra money for a family suite. We often had a quick breakfast using the kitchenette and the murphy table. So happy with this resort!!! Highest level of Disney service to the max.
Disney World family vacation
I was very happy with this resort. We stayed in a Lion King suite with 6 of us, 4 of which were children. It was a big, roomy suite and decorated very cute. We loved having 3 different pools to use. One our last night, it was raining and the lifeguard staff went above and beyond and opened the pool 1 hour before closing so families could swim. One particular cast member was so very helpful to us, her name was Sarah (a lifeguard, maybe over the others) and she had that little extra something that makes staying at a Disney resort so magical. We all loved going to the cafeteria restaurant and getting all these magical Disney treats. I would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend.
