Colonial Williamsburg is a great place to see.

The units are very dated. There was an ashtray full of cigarette butts on our patio table upon our arrival. And the line at check in was about 10 deep with only 2 folks working the counter. The gentleman that checked us in, Alex, was very efficient and attentive. Being there on a holiday weekend (and spring break time), the pool was full of families when I visited, I mean full! Check out was very quick and easy.

Poor not a Gold crown resort as rated.

Pools dirty. Porch dirty unable to use. Had to pay to exchange dirty towels. Not a Gold Crown resort as rated . Bed very uncomfortable.

It's expensive if you have to cancel.

When I initially made my reservation the customer service rep told me I could cancel without penalty up to 72 hours before my check-in. I made reservations for 2 rooms, one for my husband and me, and the other for our daughter and her family. A week before the check-in her family all came down with an illness. The Customer service rep charged me 100 $ for each room, to cancel. To make the experience even more unpleasant, they left me on hold for over an hour. No future trips to Great Wolf for our family.

    Don't do it

Our stay last week started fine. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, but by day three we woke up to no hot water. After discussing this issue with the night manager, David, we not only didn't get the hot water issue resolved but we returned that night to NO WATER at all! No one showed up at our unit to check and further calls to management went no where. We checked out four days earlier because we chose not to continue to deal with the stress. Not on vacation. I asked to speak to Blain, the general manager before checking out, but he was unavailable, so I left a message for a return call. Again nothing. I emailed both mangers of this resort just yesterday. No responses from either. Don't fall for the sales pitch that this is an excellent family resort. In a few short days, my wife and I agreed that this was the most irresponsible resort we've ever stayed and that says a lot since we never expect more than the simple basics when traveling. Running water and responsive management are just two of those basic expectations. This place offered neither
