    Great proximity to the parks!

Our family of 6 stayed at the Hard Rock Orlando the first week of November 2019. My husband was attending the Microsoft conference, so we decided to bring the kids and upgrade to a suite. We stayed here twice before and enjoyed it both times. This trip, we spent more time at the pool, as the weather was beautiful and we were there for a full week. The DJ at the pool was absolutely fantastic - he played all the popular music my tweens and teens were into, and he had them dancing and having an excellent time! I cannot say enough about the bar staff - we sat at the bar one evening for the football game and the bartenders were amazing! I asked if they minded if my underage sons sat at the bar to watch the game; they replied with "everyone is welcome here - this is a family resort!" and then proceeded to wow them with all types of non-alcoholic drink concoctions. The kids had a blast and are still talking about it months later. Towards the end of the evening, one of my kiddos started to feel ill from too much sun..the bartenders boxed up our food and then had chocolate cake delivered up to the room. It was so incredibly thoughtful and appreciated! One thing to note about the pool...the drink service around the pool is nonexistent. And that means that there are servers, but they do not do their job. We spent over an hour trying to flag one down to bring us drinks, and ended up walking up to the bar to get them. This was the same issue they had our last stay, and obviously things have not improved! The food in the hotel restaurants is excellent. We ate at the Kitchen - they offer excellent options along with an allergy menu. The service unfortunately was hit or miss both times we dined there. The lobby bar is an excellent place to go to listen to live music at the end of the night. Drink service is excellent and they have a wide variety of artists - some that are extremely talented. All in all - we look forward to returning to this resort. We do hope the pool service improves as this is the main downfall of this resort, but not a dealbreaker. The proximity to the parks (5 minute walk) cannot be beat!

    Living Like A RockStar!!

After coming here, I think I am now spoiled for hotels now because nothing will top how much I enjoyed the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando. .....First Look..... The scenery is stunning, I can tell they really care about the upkeep of this hotel. The staff were so friendly and super helpful. Couldn't have wanted better staff than what we got here. The hotel is literally a stones throw away from universal and City Walk. Amazingly close so no worry about getting taxis home. .....Bedroom..... This was the thumbs up for me because the bedroom was amazing. Great size TV and enough programs to keep you entertained when you are in the room. The beds are massive and they were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms were a good size and were really clean. I could not work out how to turn on the bath for the life of me so it was showers all holiday. This hotel was the first time I had ever gotten room service but the service was fantastic and the food was really good. No balcony but oh well... .....Pool..... The pool was great. Good temperature and clean. I could tell they care about safety but I do feel they take it a little too far... you aren't allowed to pay with balls or inflatables. Sure, for safety I can understand why but you can't stand less than a meter away from your friend and throw a ball to each other. A little fun spongey in that respect. The hot tub was nice, although from what I could see there was one little tub for the whole hotel, not enough really. The entertainment was great. Music was to my taste. Rock, 80s etc so I was pretty happy. They did a few quizzes and guess the song which was nice. .....Bar..... The drinks were, although they are expensive were really nice. Lots of alcoholic drinks to choose from and soft drinks as well. The bar staff were nice as well, friendly and welcoming. The bar food was tasty as well. Lots of food to choose from we ended up eating here a few lunches and dinners. You have poolside service as well which is great. Although, one little point is that I think that some of the bar staff should respect that some customers do not want to pay for their drinks at the end of the day and/or do not want to pay on the same bill. My friend and I were obviously only paying for what we ordered and some staff didn't seem to quite get that we wanted things separately or to pay as we go. Not everyone of course but some of them seemed to get a bit funny with us when we asked. It ended up making us really confused and wasting time trying to organise who had bought what and who had paid for what. Maybe this should be taken into account and a system should be created for customers like this? .....Food..... Yes the food was quite expensive but I cannot fault how delicious it was. We had dinner here maybe once or twice because it was quiet expensive but it was still good. The breakfast was delicious and there was so much to choose from you are not going to go hungry. The Elvis pancakes (I think they were called) were really nice. Really for a sweet toothed person but delicious nonetheless. .....Store..... The food store is good and has a lot to choose from. The clothing store was great. Not as expensive as people would think. I picked up a few good things from here. .....Overall..... Being at The Hard Rock has truly ruined me for staying at other hotels. Nothing is quite the same. I did feel like a rockstar here. When I save up the money, I definitely want to come back here but if you want to have a really great, relaxing stay, I would take a couple of £1000 per person just to be comfortable. .....Negatives..... - Watch out for the parking charge because it is expensive and you need to pay for the entire time rather than at the end of your stay. It was around $24 a day... expensive right! - It is an expensive hotel, nothing comes cheaply so be prepared to spend a pretty penny here. - Hotel should create a system for customers wanting to pay for things separately and on the go. .....Notes..... - You get free fast pass tickets here for universal studios, island of adventures and a few others (can't remember), great saving! Obviously you still need to pay for your ticket but fast pass is always worthwhile. - If you want to save money, go to the shop and buy your breakfast in the morning, little tub of cereal and milk for around $5-7. We only discovered this three days before we were due to leave...

    Worst Hotel experience ever!!

The staff was rude. They do not care about customer service or their guests. Hotel is run down. For how expensive this hotel is, I expected way better. 1st room had period blood on the toilet and floor of the bathroom!!! Not sure how you miss that one! We got in early, and they were supposed to call us when the room was ready. We went to the pool to wait. We were told there that the pool was temporarily closed, but only for a couple of hours. So we grabbed some chairs and laid down. After 2 hours, we inquired when the pool would open. They told us soon and to hold tight. We did, from 9 til 3:30. It never opened. They started to paint or seal the slide, and the spray came on our faces, lungs, and all over our drinks and food. So we moved seats. Went to go in the kiddie pool to cool off, and as we were walking up, the pH tested bad, and they shut it down for 2+ hours (told us it would be 30 mins). We finally had enough and went to the front desk to check on our room. We saw them handing keys out and checking guests in. Magically, they had not one, but two ready, even though they never called us, and gave people who checked in later their rooms. The first one had the blood, so we changed rooms, since it was not clean. Changing rooms was the only right thing they did. They definitely over promise and under deliver. We were told at 3:30 that they didn't care we were upset that the only sunny day we were there, the pool was closed, because we could have gone to another property to swim!!! Even though that is 3 boat rides and a 20+ min to get to, we would have gone, had they told us that at 9 or 11 or 1, when we continued to check on the status of the pool. They literally had a we don't care, it's not our problem, attitude. Went to have lunch and when we walked in, we were told they were closed and reopen in 30 minutes. Went back in 40, and were told they were closed for 30 minutes. They have no clue what is going on, and none of their staff is on the same page. They all have lackluster attitudes, and could care less if your stay is good or not. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for the money!!!!

    Exceptional customer Service!

Hotel was very clean, fun, upscale and made visiting Universal so easy. We stopped by Cabanna Bay hotel and Hard Rock is much nicer. I wouldn’t stay at Cabanna Bay unless I had little kids. I had teenage boys with me and the Hard Rock was perfect. Loved being able to jump on the 5 min ferry to the parks and City Walk. The only negative I would say is the bathroom. We stayed in the oversized, two queen bed room with couch. The room was spacious but the bathroom was WAY too small and you literally have to turn sideways to get in & out of the bathroom! The staff did a great job cleaning the room and Sonya at the front desk went out of her way to accommodate us! Every staff member was helpful and gave excellent customer service, which makes or breaks an experience! We will definitely stay again!
