Good place to stay on a budget if you are going to Universal. They have a shuttle right outside to get to Universal which is great and quick. The Hotel's eating area is perfect. Has a good variety of food, even good vegies options, things like milk, juice and items you need for the kids. Fairly clean place. Our room had a strong smell when we entered but we only went into sleep so we did not complain. Also found it annoying that someone in a room nearby was smoking but that's not the Hotel's fault. Pool was nice, big and clean. Nice little sand area also. Would stay their again.
Dirty, noisy - would not stay again.
Stayed for 10 nights and would not recommend. The rooms have no sound insulation you can hear everyone in rooms around you, the hallway and if people are in the room above you they sound like they are a stampede of elephants. We were woken up at all times in the night. When we arrived there was blood on the bedside table (which the cleaner had placed a wrapped up remote next to so not sure how they could have missed that?!) And blood on the backsplash of the sink. The sink was also blocked (but maintenance did come and fix this quickly). After 4 sleepless nights, we waited in 30 minutes queue (a regular occurrence) to complain to the front desk about the noise. They moved us to the top floor into a suite as a gesture of goodwill, which was good of them but unfortunately as the noise issue is due to the construction of the building, this did not really help and we could still hear noise from nextdoor rooms. There were also pubic hairs in the bathroom and when we wiped up some water we spilt on the ground, the cloth was black because the floor was so filthy. We requested the cleaners to mop the floor during our stay but this was not done. The only positive of this stay was that we never had to wait for a bus to get to or from the park. I'm actually shocked that Universal allows Loews to operate this hotel on their behalf and damage their name. I understand that this is the "value" resort but even basic hotels should be clean and quiet when you shut the door. Will not be staying again.
First stay here. Convenient to the theme parks. Very casual rooms. I can see it would be great for families. We had a 2 bedroom suite that included a picnic table as a kitchen table, and a nice kitchenette.
Noisy rooms, long check in - better value hotels elsewhere
I travelled from the UK with 2 young children and I am a frequent traveller. I joined a Endless Summer Facebook group before booking and hoped this hotel would meet the expectations from all the reviews. However it did not and I was glad my 4 night stay was over. I read reviews about noise therefore emailed the hotel before travelling requesting a quiet room, on a high floor. I had booked a standard room. We arrived around 830pm to find a VERY long check in line that was to the door. I was shocked however assumed it was bad timing and my family agreed to get some food and come back. We did about 10pm and shocked to see the check in time was even longer! We waiting over 1 hour to be checked in to our room. At one point someone came out who looked like a manager and I asked if I was in the wrong line - I had pre-booked online and prepaid. I was abruptly told - no that's normal, just wait. When I asked how long (considering I has been on a 10 hour flight) the response was, that's normal, you have to wait. When we finally got seen, I was aware we had to pay for parking however the cost had gone up since I have booked. I explained this to be told - unless you have proof you have to pay the current cost. I was offered no apology for the wait from staff and when I complained, I was left with the comment - that's the wait. We finally got to the room, 4th floor, to find it was actually an interconnecting room. I saw very quickly that my request has not considered at all. The bedding was clean and room presented as per photos, basic but modern. Little to no storage and the door to the toilet was so close to the toilet you had to squeeze to the side to get in. However the worst part was the noise! I could hear my neighbours on both sides throughout the day and night. They were only talking - not parting, nothing I could call reception for. I was shocked a modern hotel of this type has such thin walls! I know the adjoining room would have not helped however I could hear the people walking upstairs, phones ringing, toilets flushing and people having conversations. The only positives to this hotel - and these might be enough for people to put up with lack of sleep. -Frequent busses to Universal however these do get stuck in normal traffic and if you leave at park closings expect it to take 20 mins to travel the short distance. -Pool area is lovely, lots of loungers, big lifeguarded pool that is heated, lovely bar. -Food court - although I did not eat here and felt it was expensive and always WAY too busy. I was pleased to have checked out and would never book again. Personally I stayed 2 night in the Rosen at Point and found this better value at half the price, free parking. I previously stayed at Rosen Plaza and couldn't fault it.
We just returned home from a four night stay at the Endless Summer dockside. We arrived early and asked if there were any rooms available for an early check in. They were able to get us into a room right away. The girl at the front desk asked if we had a car which we did not. She said she would put us close to the lobby which was perfect. We were on the second floor in room 2255. Upon entering the room we noticed the room was scented and smelled very good. The room was also very clean and the shower was spacious. The water temperature did seem to have some issues if you used it during busy times it only felt lukewarm. At other times it was either lukewarm or scalding hot. The food court had many good choices and the lines and checkout seemed to move very quickly. Everything we tried was delicious. I am gluten free and they did have many options for me. The pool is beautiful. My kids loved the underwater speakers. This was a huge highlight for them. There are many lifeguards around the pool and they are very on top of everything. The pool bar is excellent as well. Many good choices. There is great music being played by the pool as well. Transportation to the parks/city walk was always readily available and we never had to wait. The same went for the return home. We would definitely stay here again.
