    Excellent. See you soon again.

Everything was excellent. Love it there, will be back soon. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Beautiful large pool. Restaurant is great. Starbucks in your beautiful lobby is an excellent finish, along with your gift shop. Just get rid of those smokers who sit just outside the door leading to the parking lot. Not a good experience for non smokers.

    Check in is terrible

I will say I like this place. It’s clean, great location, gets you early entry etc. What I cannot understand is why the check in takes so long. Both times we have visited this hotel the check in line is incredibly long. I understand the staff wanting to be attentive to their guests but they take SO long with every family that is checking in. Welcome them, give them their keys and move on.

    Excellent staff and hotel

We stayed there for 3 nights during the hurricane. The staff was amazing!!! The food was great and I felt safe and at home! I highly recommend the upgrade to the 2 bedroom! Having a separate bedroom and 2 tv’s is awesome! The hotel was beautiful and the Starbucks was a added bonus! The food was affordable and had a great variety!

    Refund never issued

I’m so disappointed with universal. I booked The Dockside but changed our mind cancelled the booking (well before the 5 days cancellation policy) and booked the royal Pacific. I cancelled the room in July and am still battling for a refund. They were replying to emails but have now stopped and I still haven’t had a refund. We had planned return but will now opt for a Disney hotel after this dreadful customer service!!!

Good hotel but housekeeping and laundry facilities let it down.

Giving Dockside a 3 for a few reasons. First the good points, great shuttle service to the parks never had to wait long and the drivers were always friendly. Pool area and Bar areas were excellent even at busy times bar staff again very friendly. Front of house staff very helpful and able to answer any questions. Restaurant was always clean and quick (not including the times when Ian hit) however chicken was always very dry. And the pasta was only available once in a 14 day period. However where Dockside really let itself down was the housekeeping. Upon our arrival at first glance the room looked incredibly clean and well kept. That it until on closer inspection we noticed the sheets on the bed were just thrown on and not actually made. The space at the bottom of the three beds were full of dirt, sand and dust. The kitchen area under the bench again was covered in dirt and dust as was underneath the counters. The bathroom had a distinct chlorine smell to it but I suppose that could have been worse. During our stay our beds were changed once. And we had housekeeping actually come into the room about 4 or 5 times. She. They did come in they didn’t clean under anything or change the beds. The most they did was sweep around stuff and change the towels (again this was rarely done) and throw the sheets up on the bed and not actually make the bed. We also moved the beds and found massive stains on the floor ended one of the beds Now during Ian I didn’t expect any sort of cleaning or room service. However after the storm after a day or so to catch up and ready rooms for those evacuated I did expect just towels and our bins changed (after being in the room for the last 48 hours) however this didn’t happen either and our floor was lined with rubbish bags after people started putting them in the hallway. Also the laundry rooms. This hotel is made up of two towers each has 14 (13) floors and a total of 2,050 rooms of which 1,113 are two bedroom suites. Now there are only 6 laundry rooms with a total of 30 washers and driers ( I might be out on the numbers slightly) when I went to the laundry rooms in Tower two there were on average at least 1 drier out of order and 2 washers out of order in each room. So there were 6 washers out of 15 not working and 3 driers out of 15 driers not working. That coupled with people going out when they were using machines meant I had to attempt three separate nights to wash our cloths and ended up doing it at 1am just to get access to the facilities. Not ideal when your on a family holiday. I also found out through guests at other universal hotels that on the days when Ian hit and after (parks closed nothing to do etc) there were characters sent to the hotels for the kids and FREE food put on for guests. Dockside did not do this which I kind of felt was a little poor as it feels your the budget hotel so no little extras to help entertain the kids. So on the whole 3 out of 5 for Dockside. Sort the housekeeping and laundry side of things and this would probably take it up to 4 or 5 I would one to try surfside or go back to Dockside should they sort these issues 👍🏻👍🏻
