Another great vacation!
Special thank you to Edison bartender. His drink very so delicious and well presented. Great massages were received by Matilda. Thank you for the service by Lexinton, Domingo and others. I like to spend my vacation at Reserve.
Very nice experience
I went with my mom and had a great time. The food was really good and it's a nice place to rest. The people working there are extremely nice and welcoming, especially a guy named Elbim who worked at the beach, sadly we didn't ask for his last name but people like him make the experience a lot better. Unfortunately, it rained one day and the bathroom flooded, they moved us to a better room after sending someone to try to fix the issue. It was kind of akward but the issue got fixed so I guess it was fine. I think it was an overall good experience, I recommend people going there.
THE RESERVE IS CLOSED; PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO
We scheduled our trip in JUNE for Oct 8 to the 13th only to arrive and discover that the Reserve location is closed. They didnt tell us this right away though. We arrived and were taken to the check in at the Grand reserve only to be made to feel like criminals trying to sneak in. We were finally able to pull up our email to prove that we had booked them but they likely would have turned us away if we hadnt been able to finally get phone service so please print your booking confirmation before you arrive. Check in was rude, dismissive and completely ambivalent to our situation. We waited 4 hours outside in the heat for a room. No one so much as even offered us a drink. Finally they assign the three of us a room with one king bed. We had to fight again to get another (smaller than what I paid for room) with 2 beds so at least one of us woudnt have to sleep on the couch. Turns out one of us had to sleep on the couch anyway because we had no AC for almost 2 days. Our room was 82 degrees for 36 hours. And i know this because we kept checking hoping the gods of cold air would rescue us. Also, theres no room service. Its says 24 hours but this is not the case. I realize this sounds like an absurd Oh Come On, Karen kind of complaint but we all work in health care. That means we get dinner at like 2am. We booked based on the amenities and this was one of them that we were really counting on. Even if there had been a snack bar or some martini olives we would have been fine w it. When we did eventually get to call for room it legit just didnt show up. We called 3x. No food. Im going to write a separate review listing the few people that went above and beyond. Its such a shame that the admin side of things falls so short of what is acceptable because there are some good people there working their behinds off. I booked Paradisus on the strength of a previous experience at a sister resort and I was so shocked and disappointed by how this was handled that I cant say I would ever book with the Melia family again. If management is reading this, please look into who was working front desk on 10/8 at around 1pm. I think one of the girls' names was Emaline. I didnt get the name of the other girl. They cost you guys repeat clients. They treated us horribly and then left their coworker to deal with it. That poor guy was thrown under the bus and they didnt care at all. Also, we were never officially check in. We were never entered into the system. You didnt even have a card on file for us. I could have taken a lamp, some sheets, the door knobs and you wouldnt have been able to do anything about it.
Best place to rest
Everything is perfect at this hotel, the staff, the place, the decoration, the food, the weather. Thats why we repeat this hotel vacation for 10 consecutive times and with no membresy. Every year is a pleasure to pay for it. This year we are missing it too much, but if it is possible we are looking forward to go there again as soon as possible.
Great repeat visit
This is the second time we stayed at The Reserve and it was another excellent experience. Service was engaged and attentive in almost all instances. We had 2 kids in tow this year and chose a swim-up room to be able to handle naps easily while also being able to get some quiet pool time in. The following team members showed particularly good service: Domingo Espinal, Alejandro Rivera, Milly Aslla, Ronny Mercedes, Johan Lorenzo, and Fidel Rosario (who recognized us from two years ago!). The only pain point was the difficulty of leaving tips because there is no easy way to get small bills unless you bring your own.
