Always a wonderful, restorative stay close to the slopes but away from the fray

This place continues to be our favorite and only place we wish to stay when coming to ski at Beaver Creek. Our 6th time here and we can't wait to return. The rooms, location, amenities, and ESPECIALLY the staff (thank you Justin, Hannah, Austin, Ben and the housekeeping crew!! And how we miss Leighana, Kyle, and Stephanie and the old crew too). We are family of 3 and just LOVE staying here. The staff are WONDERFUL. The accommodations and amenities are excellent. Feels like upscale home. Ski in and out with self serve ski storage and boot drying. Beautiful workout facility with a STEAM Room. Outdoor pool/hottub. And a delicious restaurant. Can't wait to return!

Third time pretty much as good as the first two

This is my third stay at the Pines. It was just about as good as it was before. I've written a detailed review on earlier stays, so will just add a couple of comments: I was there in mid December so maybe things weren't 100% geared up for winter. Despite information sent to me, the on-site rental/service shop wasn't open yet. That was too bad as I wanted a tune up and had to do that in town instead. No big deal, but it would have been nice to have on hand. The water machine in the lobby wasn't there although they said it was coming back. There were two bottle of water in my room which weren't replenished each day, but they were made of aluminum so I just refilled them and my flat pack that I ski with each day in the gym which had filtered water. There were also Celsius electrolyte packets in the room with a note saying they were complimentary during my stay, but after day 1 I asked at reception and was told it was only the first day you get them. I just asked the hardworking housekeeping nicely and they gave me more. There was no detergent readily available for the sole washing machine available to guests, but again, I was given some when I asked housekeeping. It is so great to be able to do a load mid-trip! Keurig in the room was really appreciated even though there is coffee on the floor in the mornings. I like a strong cup and if you don't put in too much water and use two capsules you get a decent drink. Oddly, there was fake creamer in the rooms, but real half and half capsules on the floor, so I just used those. Because it was still early in the season, I didn't use the so-called ski in/out which is a bit of a hike and not great if not good coverage. Didn't really affect me at all as the free shuttle in Beaver Creek is really useful without too much waiting. Just a reminder that there's not on-site restaurant other than the very expensive (and probably excellent) dinner place. Again, using the shuttle to get into town and back for meals was really easy and you can also walk in even less time. I appreciated having the fridge for left overs and also for the cheese and other snacks I brought with me. Only half the slopes were operational, but it was enough for me - I had a great time and will most likely keep using the Pines for my return visits.

Looking for a Resort that Feels Like Home?

Everyone (staff/guests) was so accommodating and friendly. My son and I really felt at home at this quiet and family-friendly resort! The location was great (about a 5 minute walk to the BC Village with ski-in/ski-out access). I also loved the fact that we were able to pick up our gear right there at the resort!

A Nice Place to Stay in Beaver Creek

A very nice place to stay in Beaver Creek. Rooms were large-2 Queen Beds with a Juliet balcony- Beds were comfortable. Great Views of Beaver Creek and the Mountains. Open windows for fresh mountain air. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Quiet Hotel. Nice Fitness center under used. Short walk to the village at Beaver Creek. Did have a plumbing issue at 10 PM and the staff called a plumber to come in to take care of within the hour.

Not your father’s RockResort or a legendary RockResort!

Okay…when I read The Pines is a RockResort, I thought of Little Dix Bay and many luxurious beautiful resorts that RockResorts built and managed. This isn’t it. RockResorts was bought out and changed hands a few times, so don’t get your hopes up. That said I did visit in summer, a number of the reviews that are laudatory are about visits during ski season. Pluses, —the staff could not be friendlier or more accommodating. Many are skiers; they really like living in Beaver Creek. Cons— housekeeping only every three days or pay and extra charge! That seems out of keeping. HVAC was so loud, I turned it off rather than deal with the noise. Windows don’t open. Bathrooms are tired. Pool is very small as is the gym. The hotel bill for two nights was three pages long, since this enumerate every tax and fee, just a little tacky. I had a corner room, but on the second floor, ask for the third floor so your view is not the roof of the first floor. I would probably look elsewhere.
