Please read this before you book the Mirage
Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel if you can. Flew over from London with the family - three kids 16 and under. After a long flight, we arrived at the hotel to be told that our two rooms which were paid for and reserved were not available and that the hotel was full. The receptionist was surly and not interested at all. I had to make a real fuss to get anything sorted - not what you need after a long journey and it sets the tone in a bad way for your holiday. The hotel itself is tired and unloved. The only highlight was the coffee shop next to Starbucks. Friendly and efficient team and the coffee is better. The hotel gets two stars rather than one because the location is very central
Love the Mirage!
We always stay at the Mirage, and love it. It's not too big, like some of the others, but it's got everything you need or want. I know there are changes planned due to a sale to The Hard Rock, but I hope they don't change it too much. The garden entrance is so beautiful and restful.
Overall OK. Needs a refresh
Why I would stay here again: Resort king tower room was very quiet. Comfortable bed, slept great. Good strip location Friendly staff and dealers Decent food options Why I would not stay here again: Seriously in need of a refresh. Rooms are run down. Minor annoyances like the toilet would flush spontaneously in the middle of some nights. More detail: I’ve stayed a number of times over the years and I keep coming back because it’s priced right and my past stays have been good. This time was no exception. From front desk, bartenders, hostesses, dealers, etc. everyone is friendly. The resort tower room was very, very quiet and I slept great! Food choices are decent. However avoid the lobster tacos at The Still (see my review). Adequate fitness center but I wished it opened earlier than 6. Being from the east coast I was ready to go at 5. The rooms need a serious refresh. Lots of scraps, dents, and rough edges (see my pics) plus the mysterious black stuff that appeared in my sink everyday.
Hotel was clean and quiet. Rooms could use some modernization, but overall pleasant. Check-in was efficient and it was nice I was accommodated for an early Check-in with no additional fee. Good towels, good sheets, ample closet space. The check out from the TV did not work, so had to wait in line. I'd give them another chance and stay again!
Mirage is not the Vegas experience you need
Entirely average. We have stayed all throughout the Strip and would return back to the other properties, but would not return to the Mirage. It is close to being renovated and it shows. If you decide to stay there, choose an even ending room, on the 17-23 floors, which will face the strip. The odd numbered floors face the back, and there is a train close by that runs throughout the night and lots of noise. Be prepared not to be able to reach anyone on the phone. The whole vibe is lacking. We only stayed to be close to the Sphere and to see U2.
